@Banjo- i don't think that Xbox can just knee jerk react and launch an upgraded version quickly if Sony makes one. I really don't see a need for a mid gen upgrade, they haven't utilized these machines at all yet.

I mean, folks are willing to skip your platform because you're in third or because it pleases the market leader.... so he's not lying. I'm expecting it to be brought up that poor victim Sony was looking at money hatting Starfield before the acquisition. Had no problem with it being exclusive originally....so long as they had it.

@Kaloudz we'll know if the deal is a go by the end of the month i believe. Like you mentioned about the FTC, whoever wins in court gets their way. If MS win they were already going to do a workaround of the CMA and do something unique for the UK market as that's all they have jurisdiction over. But like with the EU before, if FTC wins deals dead. But the chances of the FTC winning are very slim.

Either way this deal will be done soon hopefully and no longer in the news.

@Kaloudz someone needs to take the Halo lore and make a dark, survival horror flood game. Can be a different Spartan or ODST. But there's so much lore there that they can make great non master chief games. ID would be good for the dark flood game i think. Collation as well but that's odd having them work on Halo vs Gears no?

They said they would support it only for 2 years, it's time to move on.

That gameplay in the starfield deep dive looked great so I've no concerns if that's what i will be playing. Wasn't super hyped about starfield but after watching the show I'm really looking forward to it.

Trying to wrap up man-eater before it leaves gamepass. Been enjoying it so far, halfway through i believe.

@Somebody the show is all pre recorded stuff so the big worry is that they look at these shows and think they can withhold an announcement or two and still be fine. I think they should go full bukkake here and just bust everything, everywhere, all at once. If you were going to show it just show it. You just launched Redfall....you gotta make it up to the fanbase.

It definitely feels like they are going to be THE showcase of E3 week but man.... they sure know how to miss an open net lol. I'm expecting a great show for me personally and hope that they have learned from ALL the past mistakes.... they've made so many....that this should be an almost perfect show by now.

Personally the Xbox showcase is all i care about and actually watch. I'll check out the post portum articles here and anything for gamepass I'll check the trailers out. For whatever reason I really don't like Geoffrey and his duchiness as well si definitely avoiding watching him lol.

Still gotta drop that price, it's $200+ before taxes in Canada so better....but better crap. Still it's new competition and hopefully with sale's they get pretty decent. My buddies with the series S need some more storage, I'm good with the series x memory.

I'm just looking forward to the show. I like surprises so just curious what's coming to gamepass. Lots of titles are leaving in June so I'm expecting some announcements for titles that are dropping into the service that day or in the 15th of June. I do think FM is getting a 23 release date and the fable tease will be gameplay, Booty was saying last year he wanted to show it but Playground said not yet, so they definitely ready now to show something.

Diablo in gamepass is all i would ask for. I'm so behind on games that it don't matter what they announce as i won't be playing it until months/year post release anyways. I would prioritize Diablo though.

I finally finished Outriders the other night so I'm either carrying on in Quantum Break now that it's back or going to finally finish the alternate ending in Injustice 2. I have a long history of not finishing games and have been really trying to finish up games since getting the series x. Gamepass does distract you a lot with all the games it has especially when something you wanted to play is leaving and you drop everything to play it.

Another way to look at this is that Sony looked at the game and thought it wasn't worth any investment in keeping it exclusive? Kinda sadistic way to look at it but if this was something special I'd imagine it would have been locked down.

I've never had any interest in this but I do hope it burns to the ground. In general publishers need to be shown that they can't push out turds, demand full price and will eventually actually finish the product. Only way this will happen is if you don't give them your money. So please folks who buy games, don't pre-order stuff, only buy it once it's actually released and in a finished state. Turdfall also deserves the same fate so they don't do that again at Xbox.

I'm going with an 8. The story was absolutely fantastic and i believe chapter/act 3 was amazing. But the last chapter kinda went downhill after that for me personally.

I haven't played infection before so will definitely be giving it a go. Gotta say fiesta is the go to mode me and my buddies play most of the time. The BTB Fiesta with the white weapons was also a big hit in our crew.

So he's saying that all those series x servers will be replaced or just outdated? Adding more SKUs for developers will make optimization easier and hardware that hasn't been utilized in any way will be replaced by newer versions with new chips in the current supply chain?

People were already fantasizeing about the mid gen upgrades before these consoles launched... what's the obbsesion here? Sony i could see doing it as the PS5 did seem to be a rushed last minute revision to not be too far off the Xbox in terms of power. But the Series consoles seem like that's it for the gen. Forza Motorsport will be the first proper release for the current gen hardware from Xbox no?

I can see them selling a version with more built in memory at some point, maybe a slimmer version if the tech allows if but that's all.

Just watched the video and it's from before the EU decision was announced.... Satya was definitely laughing at one point talking about them trying to justify this as bad for competition and consumers. Going to be a long while still before this isn't the main news cycle isn't it?

@Tharsman I'm pretty sure the world won't let the UK block it globally. I'm sure India and Africa will really appreciate that their decisions are overruled by the UK just because they said so. CMA rules within their boundaries, at least currently they still do.

I really found the comments by the CMA in their original decision about the deal being blocked globally very odd and it looks like it's going to be a mess around and find out situation for them. If you are the only one who blocks it then only the people within your borders get to benefit from your "protection". Clearly MS sees things that way.

Still smells funny on the CMAs part. Their initial criticism of the deal mentioned Sony vs consumers like 5-1, their numbers weren't from our dimension and then they went totally quiet a few weeks before the decision and met with the FTC. Like you are just setting yourself up for accusations of fraud/collusion. I also found it very odd that upon their decision they right away said their decision is global and no way the deal could happen without their approval.

I wonder if Sony pictures will ever make this into a movie?

If this wasn't initially offered to the CMA then this also gives the CMA an out to save face and approve it because they could say they were right originally and now this meets their concerns.... however I'm pretty sure they already replied to the EU decision saying that their stance still protects the consumers and the EU fell short on that?

If the EU regulators play Diablo....they 100% main as a necromancer because they just resurrected this bitch from the grave lol. FTC isn't an issue as they will lose in court if they try that route so it's definitely a lot of pressure on the CMA and they will go through without their approval if they need a work around. They don't rule the world so their verdict is only applicable to the UK.

The 12 month showcase is only possible once you are in state where you are actually releasing multiple games per quarter...n we're clearly not there yet. It sounds like it might actually be a thing this year but we'll see. I like knowing what they are working on that's further out so having a mixture is good unless one day you have the 12 month show (can't miss your dates) and another one looking out further than that.

Really pumped for the June show either way, love me some gamepass news.

I play on console or my phone. Before I got the series x i played on my laptop and it was a truly poor experience for the most part. Certain games just would crash and i couldn't play them and my progress wasn't always saving. I can't say I would recommend it to anyone or willingly play it or i had other options available. Not sure if they improved it in the past few years...but I've no need to test it out.

I've been saying it's a lock since day one but politics got involved with the CMA so I'm assuming the deal is dead. The EU has to approve it to bring it back to life, but to avoid further disappointment I'm just saying it's dead

@Baler that's great....but the world don't revolve around you lol. They stated it's been heavily requested so that's why they did it. Not sure what's hard to comprehend here. Again this ain't doing nothing special for me either but don't see why it's something to complain about.

@Baler they clearly said it's very beneficial for forge creators and has been heavily requested....so yes fis counter seems to be important. Like you it doesn't do anything for me but if it allows better forge maps for me then I'm down.

I love infinite and they definitely improved a ton this season. Hopefully next season is another hit and they can just keep em coming.

I thought that was just a white switch. Good to see he can still have shelf surprises after the month they had. They definitely aren't making their own handheld, just going to partner up with everyone else. The local play for gamepass is a great feature for the ROG though.

I don't understand how you send $7B and just say see you at launch. Clearly they plan aquiring more studios.... maybe an official onboarding plan... event a power point presentation.... could be helpful. Maybe review what the studios are working on when acquired and tell them where you could help and how? You know...take ownership of what you purchased. Like i said in a different post... don't be up their asses.... just play with the Cornhole so they know your there. It's 2023 Phil....butt stuff is totally okay.

I've been looking forward to this one, i like the art style and the whole Alice in Wonderland thing sounds interesting.
