Summer Game Fest 2026 Date Revealed With 'Spectacular Cross-Platform Showcase' Teased

Ahh, we're just about settling down after this year's showcase season, with the fall games rush about to begin here in late 2025. Well, as ever, this industry just keeps on ploughing forward - and today, The Game Awards host Geoff Keighley has revealed the date for their Summer Game Fest 2026 showcase.

Yep, the de-facto replacement for E3 hosts its opening showcase on Friday, June 5th, 2026. Keighley says fans can expect "a spectacular, cross-platform showcase of what’s next in video games", with public tickets for the event going on sale next spring.

We've got a venue change next year as well, with Summer Game Fest 2026 taking place at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles. Following the fest's June 5th live showcase, you can expect lots of hands-on impressions for upcoming games to trickle out as journalists and critics flock to LA.

As for what else will be happening around then, well, despite this being the first major announcement for next summer, we can start to predict what else might land at a similar time. Going off previous years, we'd expect the Xbox Games Showcase to air that Sunday on June 7th - which we'll of course be all-hands-on-deck with here at Pure Xbox.
