Welcome to the weekend! It's been a busy week of new releases, so you might find yourself playing the likes of Far Cry 6 and Alan Wake Remastered this weekend, and we've also got a few more Xbox Game Pass additions to take advantage of. Don't forget that the Battlefield 2042 Open Beta is still live right now too!
Here's what we’re jumping into over the next few days:

I can happily admit that I already have access to Back 4 Blood's early access period, so I'll be checking that out this weekend ahead of its Xbox Game Pass launch on Tuesday. I'll also be continuing to build my Ultimate Team in FIFA 22, but you better believe I'm not going to be spending a penny of real money on it!
Aside from those, the other game I'm eager to get some time with this weekend is NHL 22, which has a free 10-hour Xbox Game Pass and EA Play trial available right now. This year marks the first time the series has switched to EA's Frostbite engine, so it's definitely worth giving it a try at no extra cost.

After reviewing Alan Wake Remastered, I'm having another run-through to pick up any collectables I've missed. To be honest, it's just been great to really soak in the game again as it doesn't seem to get old. I'm going to have to check out Control: Ultimate Edition at some point.
Outside of that, I've got Far Cry 6 which I'm immensely excited for. I know a lot of critics have made comments about how it's just more of the same, but it's something I find oddly therapeutic. I wrote about a similar experience I had with Assassin's Creed Valhalla earlier this year.
Finally, I've got a few indies to check out - the main one being Rainbow Billy: The Curse of the Leviathan. It looks absolutely delightful! I'm going to try and squeeze some more Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl in ahead of reviewing it next week, too.

Will be playing The Evil Within on PS4 and Metroid Dread on Switch, i.e. a lot of scary games this weekend! If I manage to finish up The Evil Within early I might check out some Game Pass titles such as Visage (more horror!) and maybe finish up Psychonauts 2.
I'm playing Marvel's Avengers and I'm going to start Kingdom Hearts 3 later today. I have a feeling that game will be leaving game pass very soon.

On my Series X I’m playing Far Cry 6 and Hot wheels unleashed. On PS5 I’m playing Death Stranding (Director’s cut), Deathloop and Kena Bridge of Spirits.
I'm playing Alan Wake (he's a terrible writer, and a bit of a moody dick) it's good though. Tenchu Z on the 360. Tried Visage out. Got scared. Deleted it. Finished the walking dead series on Gamepass, had no idea there was another season out, will buy that next week.
Oh my god, slightly unrelated but I can't wait for the good life on the 15th.
Also, on the 14th there's a game called murder house coming to consoles, meant to be a retro tank control horror game. Anyone played it? Really wanna get it.
I will playing mostly Diablo 3 on Series X... Im sorry but I cant help.
Alan Wake Remastered and Forza Horizon 4 on Series X.
Switch: Super Mario Oddyssey. I recently picked this game up again (after not touching it since I played it during launch) and want to get those final moons I havent collected yet. This game is still great btw.
I might buy Metroid Dread as well. Haven't played any Metroid games before but I figured I might as well jump into the newest one, especially since it's gotten such great reviews and feedback from players.
Series S: About to wrap up the campaign in Gears 5 for a third and final time. And play some more Scarlet Nexus. Im really enjoying the combat and bonkers story.

Far cry 6 for me this weekend in between other things.
Scarlet Nexus for me. I'm roughly two thirds of the way through it I believe as I just finished the Stage 7 Standby Phase and the last one is Stage 11. I've been highly enjoying it so far, so thanks to Xbox for adding it to Game Pass.
My only complaints so far are the odd really frustrating "boss" battle and the bond system being pretty flawed, but again, I'm still highly enjoying it overall. Other than the horrible draw-in that plagues all versions of it, it also looks great on the Series X.
I upgraded to the Switch OLED and its absolutely fantastic 😁
I'll spend the weekend playing Monster Hunter Rise on that ☺️
Just finished Procession to Calvary which was hilariously wacky.
The rest of the weekend will be devoted to Metroid Dread but I might take a break here and there to chip away at Ghostrunner a little more.
On PS4 I picked up the Castlevania Requiem: Symphony of the Night & Rondo of Blood on sale. So I’m going to attempt to play SotN for the first time. So far it’s great. I’m also trying to finish the mediocre campaign in SW Battlefront II. And on Xbox One X I’m still playing my comfort food game Forza Horizon 4 and eagerly awaiting the release of FH5 in November. Nothing this weekend as it is Thanksgiving here in Canada and I have all my vaccinated family members here to celebrate!

I should start focusing on one game at a time. Though it's hard with all the games in my backlog.
I decided to give the Outer worlds another chance after a year or so, and i gotta tell you... this time is really kicking for me. Enjoying everyminute of it.
Also playing Shadow of war which has an amazing combat though the story is not doing it for me.
Also playing Yakuza like a dragon, which i was enjoying immensely until i got to a point where the difficulty level spiked, so i gotta grind to level up .
Kena: Bridge of Spirits still for me. That game is a PS2/Xbox era style gem. I’ve loved every minute of it.
Been playing COD Modern Warfare 2019, ditched Battlefield 2042 beta as I didn’t like it. Also playing Metroid Dread.
I’ve been playing Immortal Fenyx Rising though I’m not too far in. I do see the comparison to Breath of the Wild but I’m not sure I agree with other comments/ reviews I’ve read of it being more empty.
I will also be starting Metroid Dread when I pick it up which is honestly the most excited I’ve been to play my Switch lately (still have yet to start Skyward Sword … ) Hopefully it’s as good as it looks!

Almost a year ago I gave up in Hellblade: Senuas Sacrifice because of the tedious fighting system. I tried it again and oh *****, what an experience it is!
