@KelticDevil hey I've owned every xbox ever made but what can I tell you. My gamerscore reflects me sinking hours into call of duty games. Which yes I could have played on the playstation console. However I have only ever bought one playstation (the original) and wasgiven a ps3 which I'm sure I never even plugged in. But I have owned every xbox and nintendo console outside of the virtual boy.
None of that matters though. I'm not trolling. The sales numbers aren't trolling. People aren't buying xboxs because they feel or think there's no games on Xbox or they aren't what they used to be. I'm glad you clearly like them. But if you can't see you're in the minority then I don't know what to say.

@KelticDevil pretty sure my gamertag is CAMA08 and I sold my Xbox One X which came with gears earlier this year.

Also is your argument that if you haven't played a game then you can't have an opinion on a game or its publisher? Sure you can. It might not be informed. It might be bias but you can still have an opinion. And the only opinion which matters is represented by how people spend their money.

Look I like xbox because it's the under dog but clearly it's third in this war. I thought they'd have an easier time manufacturing systems then sony during covid so thought they'd get off to a better start. Yet again they are already down 2-1 in sales. That's not good despite how good you think their games are.

@KelticDevil perception is reality and I'm not sure most agree with your assessment. There's a reason Sony is selling better. Also as much as I like gears and halo multiplayer most people apparently want single player story telling games which sony is good at.

The overwhelming opinion out there is xbox "has no games" what they really mean is "Xbox has no games I'm willing to buy an xbox for."

People are not buying an xbox for just halo, gears and forza. Gears isn't what it used to be. Halo isn't what it used to be. And not everyone loves cars. If microsoft doesn't add more first party exclusive games people will just game on playstation. It's really not that complicated. I'm the rare person who would buy an xbox for forza alone.

@mousieone we argued about graphics way before digital foundry. Which mortal kombat looked better. How about NBA jam. Snes vs jaguar vs genesis vs Sega cd vs playstation vs Saturn. We just used print images to compare.

I don't need 4k but I don't want my Xbox one library to run often at 900p. If everything was 1080p+ then it would be perfect. But come on the series s plays soul calibur 6 720p.

@mousieone the problem is I don't think I have high expectations. The fact that the series s isn't supporting xbox one x enhanced version of backwards compatibility is a huge deal. Much more so than I think a physical drive is. At least in my world I buy everything digital but going forward I don't want the one s version of bc games.

@Fenbops I can't help but think we will get a all digital series x at the same price as the all digital ps5... if that happens shouldn't the series s price drop?

I think the s should be half the price. It's almost there but not quite. Or at least come with sea of thieves or a forza game. Also I was anticipating free online this generation which I guess went the way of the dodo after microsoft bought all these studios. Plus the s doesn't play xbox one x enhanced games. I dunno I love it so much in form factor and other areas but in other ways I am quite hesitant. I returned mine the other day.

You know I think gamepass should have tiers like netflix. I don't know how they'd do it. But there should be a cheaper service for 1080p games.

@mousieone well I like the idea of bc games because they're often pretty cheap. But at this rate if I won't enjoy bc games I might as well wait mid generation and pick up a revised series s with a larger hard drive and hopefully by then there will be a new selection of cheap games. But really games like killer instinct at the very least should be 1080p. It's insane microsoft didn't boost their own first party games.

@swedetrap I'm sure it's faster and I could care less about the small hard drive space. I really just want to play ea sports games, f1, soul calibur and maybe call of duty. That's not really much but I don't like the idea of playing the one s version of modern warfare and soul calibur. That's insane so it's collecting dust in a box.

@Nermannn if the s played last gems xbox one x games then I would have opened my box already. Instead it's sitting up stairs with my walmart receipt ready to be returned. I love the form factor though.

Yet people have to play killer instinct in 900p on series s! Honestly the fact that series s doesn't play backward compatible games with xbox one x enhanced graphics is a real deal breaker.

Microsoft please get Namco to port both air combat and soul calibur 4k pc settings please and thank you.

I dunno I've lost my enthusiasm. If real series x games won't be coming for two years. God knows when halo will come out. Why not wait for a Xbox series XX model

@JetmanUK I don't know which pre order to keep. The series s or x. Some reports make me think the s is enough and then there are others like these which make me want to keep the x. If microsoft games don't get improved there isn't much hope for the countless other third party 900p xbox one games.

@StonyKL pikman 3 a seven year old port is coming out at docked 720p 30fps... The switch is in desperate need of an upgrade but this is not encouraging.

So when the series x/s upgrade hits will the game load faster?

@Medic_Alert I was so hyped for backward compatible games and then this digital foundry video disappointed me. I'm hoping the microsoft games like sea of thieves and forza can get series updates which includes load times. Otherwise these consoles might be able to play them but I'll likely have very little interest in revisiting them.

@NEStalgia if I didn't dislike the practices of Sony I'd probably go with the shorter loading times. Well that and don't like the Sony controller.

I absolutely hated the loading times on forza. So much I gave up on it. This is welcomed.

I'm more concerned with how the game plays. I'm tired of simulations like forza and I'm not a fan of open world's like horizon. I miss arcade racers like ridge racer and Sega rally. This looks like it might fill that itch.

I wish it had a behind the ship view.

I've seen some super cheap xbox one s on kijiji but I'll wait to see what Microsoft offers on black Friday. I might grab one just for an additional controller.

I have three secured to sell two to pay for the one. I'll be a sad boy if my evil plot fails.

This game has painful loading times. Hopefully better on Series consoles

Series S from microsoft (their site crashed during the process)
Series S from Walmart (let's see if it gets canceled)

@BlueOcean maybe. I'd like a switch pro but maybe it's going to be low key cancelled. Games do dissappear and I don't know the market for a full price game which sells for about $10 on other consoles over a year later.

@BlueOcean well I am pessimistic in some cases. The fact that it's not shown makes me believe it doesn't exist. I can't believe companies. Example: Sony we don't believe in generations...

Free xbox live and I'm all in

In canada the price is 599 vs 379. I wanted a series s but the exchange rate pushes me towards an x. For instance in canada a ps5 is 629. Can I download the 1080p files on a series x?
