@BlueOcean I agree that they are free and better than Nintendo's full price remaster but I just didn't care too much for the games. Now if outrun 2 was included maybe. I'll just accept that my backwards compatibility sucks as I don't want to spend that much this year on a system.

@NEStalgia all I know is that black ops was a BC game and it looked like garbage on my one meanwhile Read Dead a BC xbox one enhanced game looked like a remastered deluxe edition. And when I say remastered I don't mean it in the Nintendo sort of way but rather the PlayStation sort of way.

@BlueOcean I cant find a list. Maybe 50. And not all xbox games are capable of playing. The few games which are capable are enhanced.

yes there are a ton of Xbox one games which got xbox one x enhancements but that wasn't what I was talking about.

@BAMozzy honestly there isn't that many xbox one x enhanced games. If they have to redo them all to series s then that's basically what I expect. Otherwise I might find a cheaper Disney + box.

@Luigia as a former xbox one x owner there is a huge difference from being able to play call of duty black ops at 900p versus red dead at 4k. That said many of the backward games I bought I didn't really enjoy because although the one x made them look great, modern controls and gameplay have improved so much over the years. But I do own all the splinter cells digitally and red dead which I thought was better than the sequel.

If my backward compatible games got bumped to 1080p 60fps with HDR I'd be a happy camper. I don't think people remember how bad some games resolutions were in the 360 era. They are the same if not worse than the switch today. That's not great and I say that as a switch owner.

But could they not bump the resolutions up to 1440p. This is super disappointing as most people thought the series s was more powerful than the one x. I can understand the next gen games not being able to be played in 4k but my 360 games that were able to on the one x can't? It's beyond disappointing. But there's no way I am buying a series x.

Digital foundry says they saw the series s in March. How many other people knew it existed.

@playstation_king 3rd party games run better on Xbox and Xbox has the best backwards compatibility. That makes it a good console.

I'd rather have a shorter generation with backward compatibility

@masofdas I don't know why I didn't think of an XD. But that's a good call. Might come out sooner than later to compete with Sony. Xmas 2021.

BlackBerry had plenty of reasons to tank. But as a loyal blackberry user I think their biggest downfall was still insisting on premium apple like prices after the tides turned and they were in a distant second. Android came around ad blackberry was done. Xbox here is not in a position to demand more and I'd argue even the same as PlayStation. They need to incentivize people into their ecosystem.

@Alpha-2002 just because they are denying things doesn't make them untrue. They have lost my trust. It isn't exactly like Sam's is some internet weirdo. I believe he is informed on the things he is talking about.

@BlueOcean I don't even like PlayStation but would be buying one based on your pricing structure. Xbox needs to buy their way to victory this gen or I assume people will go the PS5/switch combo route.

I guess PS4 won 2020. I would have thought xbox basically dropping support of the one a while back meant for sure there would be games ready in 2020. I mean I thought they had games just sitting waiting for the series x since before the pandemic. And I thought PlayStation was wasting two huge hits on their soon to be out of date console. Man I got lots of things wrong. Phil had a good poker face because that is really pathetic news. If the x doesn't undercut the PS then I don't know whose going to be buying a system before 2021

I'm more shocked a forza wasn't ready. Perhaps they are waiting to get the tech right before they launch it as a games as a service

I don't have an Xbox anymore. Waiting for switch. Any feedback on what the game plays like.

At this point being not impressed with xbox showcase it is the free online that is making me consider a series s or series x. If online is paid I'll likely not buy anything.

@mousieone not exactly the same thing as the GameCube adapter and controllers were even more scarce than pro controllers. I do have a few but I don't think it's comparable to what Nintendo did in the past and what xbox is doing now.

@Tharsman Wii let me use GameCube controllers. Wii u let me use Wii motes. Switch made me use joy cons which drift. Epic but maybe I too was just spoiled.

I wasn't exactly thrilled my Wii u pro controllers wouldn't work with my switch. Could Nintendo not give a bone to the lowest selling Nintendo console owners. I like Microsofts approach but I do admit it's probably the thing to do, like free online, when youre in third position.

@Octane only reason I have it is because it came discounted with Mario maker. Will not renew.

@Octane maybe cheaper. But I figure price per game which allows online play is about the same ratio. It works out. But even still xbox let's me party chat, gives me deals on games, gives me new free games and let's me message and invite people to my games. The price tricks you into thinking it's a good deal.

@Octane Nintendo has a handful of games which have online yet the get compelled to share for online. Where as at least in Microsoft's case the majority of their games have some online component. Even if Nintendo follows suit the online should have been free to begin with. My personal opinion though is that Nintendo is the greediest company when they feel like they are in a position of power. So I wouldn't hold my breath.

@kuliddar PlayStation is about as user friendly as Nintendo. As cocky too. If I am right the only reason this is a thing from Microsoft is because they are trailing big time. As long as PlayStation and Nintendo feel they have their fans they will continue to screw them financially. Same way PlayStation won't include backward compatibility or won't discount the possibility of selling ps4 remaster for the ps5

@IronMan30 of the games they gave you how much would it cost to repurchase the ones you actually play. Games with Gold gives some really old games which are often heavily discounted.

But xbox got The Tourist so could Switch get Battletoads? That's a fair trade
