If there’s a price increase im selling my systems on marketplace. It’s time to move on from this system.

@Millionski you have to add a pro controller cost to get to have a fair comparison with a series s. That’s a problem.

@Runex2121 I think the price is fine if you’re an adult. But this is a lot to ask for a product to hand to kids. So yes it might be priced reasonably to other handhelds. But those handhelds aren’t targeting kids. That’s a big difference.

@Banjo- as a Nintendo fan I just kept thinking I play portable only 20% of the time. If there was any world that they would have made a switch 2 tv only console for the price of a series s I would have been there day one. Now who know.

All I do on a PC is word, excel and internet. I’m sure the current Xbox could run those things. The current Xbox is more powerful than a chrome book. So it’s just software which is what Microsoft does.

@dreadful people are depressing. Christmas 2026 is a year and a half away.

@Kaloudz is Xbox giving free PS codes to Xbox owners of the same games? No. So there are victims. Anyone who put all their money into Xbox ecosystem which will eventually die hardware wise while whomever bought the PS version will likely work on PS6. PS7. PS8…

The only reason Xbox is doing this is they are dead third and sacrificed this whole generation squiring Activision. If they thought they could sell Xbox’s by being exclusive that’s exactly what would have happened. It would have been preferable. Now we will witness the slow death of their hardware side.

Here is my prediction. When PlayStation 6 is announced. Xbox will announce theirs as well. But there’s will be like a series S. They will go after the affordability market and leave the premium options to PC and PS. Switch 2 just killed their portable plans. They can only make sales going affordable.

Black ops 3 is a crime. It’s running at 900p vs 1080p on PlayStation. It’s even more a crime that now Microsoft owns these games that they aren’t being Xbox one x enhanced. The only good thing Microsoft has done lately has stopped because of licensing even when they buy the licensing. Wth.

@abe_hikura and I would be waiting a while playing Sony games I have never played while waiting for those Xbox games to hit the bargain bin.

@somnambulance naw Phil doesn’t believe good games will sell systems. But half baked games Will apparently sell game pass. Phil also believed that people’s digital libraries were built up on the previous generation that there was no hope in this generation. Amazing you can say such things and keep your job. Talking about throwing in the white flag way too early. And it wasn’t like Xbox was getting beat bad early. How did a trillion dollar company not be able to make more Xbox’s during the pandemic than Sony also confuses me. People were begging to buy anything and Microsoft couldn’t make consoles and then when they did they upped the cost of both the consoles and the services. They spent the entire generation buying call of duty and when call of duty is played on PlayStation is there any advertisements before the game that it’s FREE on gp ultimate. Ugh. So many mistakes were made.

Xbox has a hard time spending money on marketing. Which is part of the systems failure. They can say all they want that they tried to get people to buy an Xbox but they spent so little marketing it’s pathetic. Now the remaining Xbox fans are basically all talking about leaving. They’re going to have to market to try and get new people in. It’s too bad the series consoles just didn’t get the love they deserved.

@RetroMan71 you are correct. That those of us migrating to PlayStation will still be giving Xbox our money. But we will be saving money not having to buy two boxes.

If enough people migrate won’t gp subs drop and then would it make sense to keep making Xbox consoles.

When I buy an Xbox first party game are they going to give me a free code to play it on PlayStation as well. Or do they want me to buy it in different places. They want me to buy it in different places I’ll just buy a ps6 and wave goodbye to the x.

@TeiGekiLord if Microsoft eventually stop selling platforms because of less people using it your library of games will then be stuck on your Xbox platform. That’s a problem. I buy 90% of my games digitally. I’d rather move on to Sony where I have at least a chance of playing my games well into the future.

This is a two way relationship. Sure I care about Xbox profitability. But if it means that Xbox will eventually cease to exist I’m taking my business elsewhere.

If Microsoft thinks cheaper consoles sell better why do they keep raising the prices of their systems.

The sad thing is my series x can’t emulate this. And I miss outrun 2.

I’m buying it as an emulator box so more power is good.

When I figured out I’m not a developer but I could install developer mode and get my neighbours kid to install retro arch turning my Xbox into a Dreamcast.

@Millionski well there is no option for Xbox users unless they go the PC route which is cumbersome to some.

@Wisegamer that’s not true. The best experience is on the best console no matter what your financial situation is. That would be like trying to tell me a regular theatre is better than a THX theatre just because you don’t have as much money. Is a 720p-1080p tv better than a 4K tv as well?

@HonestHick the problem is that without care video game franchises die. They end up almost worthless. Now Nintendo knows how to keep franchises alive. But think about the franchises that have died a slow or quick death. Crash. Perfect dark. Banjo. A whole bunch more. If you don’t take care of the franchise and just release a game once in a blue moon people simply don’t care. So I don’t know what bragging about old games does unless you don’t understand the industry

Xbox doesn’t understand the entertainment industry is a what have you done for me lately industry. And all they’ve done lately is increase game pass prices while let everyone know their games will be available elsewhere.

Or maybe another way of saying it is… Sony now has the most powerful system with added games.

See how it seems like theyve done something for their fans while it feels like Xbox fans have gotten screwed?

@Fiendish-Beaver I’ve played solo over the years but it’s significantly harder because zero revives. I can get to say 12 solo but I can get to 30 with friends. I find solo extra frustrating because sometimes you just get hit unexpected and that’s the game. Multiplayer that rarely happens.

@BowsersBuddy I bought a series s. I liked everything but the hard drive size. As a result I upgraded to an x. And now since I don’t trust microsoft anymore I use it as an emulator instead of something I actually buy games on.

@Major_Player I’m not buying the Sony because I detest its controller. That may sound dumb but it’s my personal reason.

I got into an accident last year where I crashed into a semi and into the concrete highway barrier at 120km. Walked away from a written off car like John wick without a scratch. But more than ever recognize death is always closer than we think.

@Major_Player everything has an expiration date. The older I get my expiration date is closing in. With the time left I would prefer to have incremental upgrades than to have to wait for console cycles.

@Decoy_Snake there’s always a demand to play wherever the games play the best. Microsoft games will now look better on PlayStation. What exactly is the reason to own. Xbox. Game pass. I can’t understand people’s excitement about spending hundreds of dollars to buy a box to buy a subscription service. If Netflix forced people to buy a box to subscribe to a service they would be out of business. What does that say about this plan of attack at Microsoft.

I saw F1 25 on the pro and it makes me wish I was either a Sony player or Xbox had a pro.

I’ll be ready for a new platform in 2026. I just want to be able to play my games in 4k 60 fps with ray tracing. We are no where near that currently. So yes I will be ready in 2026.

Isn’t fifa and madden only 1440p this year. Don’t they both have 30fps cut scenes. I don’t know how people can say 2027 when I’m sure we all have 4k TVs.

@Titntin this site constantly puts out PlayStation news here to stir up the comment threads. And when they are called out for poor wording or click bait they say that is not their intention and it was a mistake. Or they default to we are just going where the algorithm is pointing us. Either way this is poor journalism. It’s bias and meant to stir up the comments.

I just converted my Xbox into a Dreamcast machine. This is what my series x has become.

Where is the backwards compatibility one x upgrades on these tile’s Microsoft now owns.

@MSX no one’s hurt. We just think Microsoft’s slow drip feed of their catalogue is pathetic and no one has been waiting for crash to be announced to subscribe.
