If you happen to own Mortal Kombat 11 for Xbox One, we've got some good news for you! The game has received a free upgrade for Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S today, introducing a small selection of improved features.
All versions of Mortal Kombat 11 are eligible for the upgrade, and all inventory, earned rewards and custom character variations (along with any Time Krystals purchased) will carry over automatically as well.
Here are the new features included in Mortal Kombat 11 for Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S:
- 4K Dynamic Resolution
- Enhanced Visuals
- Improved Loading Times
- Cross-Platform/Cross-Gen Compatibility for select modes
In addition to the free next-gen upgrade, Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate has also been released today, featuring the 37-character roster, two critically acclaimed story campaigns and all game modes in a single package for £49.99 / $59.99.

As I always do with Netherrealm games specifically, I will get this for $15 next year and play those single-player campaigns all by myself, enjoy the heck out of it, and never play it again. But I am looking forward to it.
Yet people have to play killer instinct in 900p on series s! Honestly the fact that series s doesn't play backward compatible games with xbox one x enhanced graphics is a real deal breaker.
I don't see the smart delivery term in the article, is this one or those odd custom upgrade paths like Call of Duty Cold War?
I updated this but really don’t notice any difference in graphics with the Xbox one x version.
