@Rural-Bandit a digital series x would be so close to the series s in price I think they’d have to drop the series s price to move units. Which is fine since the series s has had a few sales already.

But I think it’s a streaming stick.

@Carck there’s tons of people who buy a PlayStation simply because it’s the cooler system but likely only really buy call of duty and or fifa every year. Both games they likely want online for. These people must hate paying to play online for such a small amount of games. It’s why I refuse to pay for Nintendo online because I know I’m paying only to play splatoon 2. So if one system allowed them to play for free then they would consider just buying the xbox instead. Why would you pay $150 ( cod 50 + fifa 50 + online 50 = 150) when you could pay 100? Free online will make xbox cheaper but it will also make PlayStation look greedy.

Bought a series x. Returned it. I don’t really have time to game. I just want to play f1, call of duty, and fifa each year. The x would just be a waste of money and I’d be mad at myself for wasting that when I’m primarily dedicated time wise to Nintendo.

The real story here is that it must have been Nintendo which blocked it to begin with and they passed the blame to MGM.

I wish they would port the first three of these games and the first three halos to the switch. That said I’m happy to own a Xbox.

@XxEvilAshxX I went from a one x to a series s and have zero complaints other than the backward compatibility not being as good. The ssd makes a huge difference. But I really just play call of duty and fifa.

Honestly I wanted a full size one like the ones they sent to “influencers”. I was going to put it in my kitchen and influence my son to put his Nintendo down and play gamepass instead.

My real question is why the Xbox one killer instinct didn’t get a series s upgrade.

Here’s hoping that they have enough gigabytes to dedicate to the end credits of this game.

I bought a s to play fifa, nhl, f1 and wrc. I’m very happy with what I am using it for.

I prefer one over two so this makes me happy

So I can dim everything to keep the wife happy and then I can use the dpad and the clicks can drive her crazy. Great plan.

ill admit I owned two series s and a series x. I sold them all when the money was right and I felt there wasn't anything immediate to play. My birthday is in April which is when I thought Id get my mom to buy one at her local pharmacy with her extra 20% off srs day discount. Shoppers drug mart is my friend. Really I only want a xbox because of its backward compatibility (I have old games) and to play with my nephew far away.

when I complain on nintendolife about Nintendos practices I get shunned for being a troll when in fact Nintendo is by far my favourite console. I try to explain that by stating your frustration online Nintendo can at least see our thoughts and rethink their decisions. Im not saying that it was purexbox which got Microsoft to change but clearly they saw the frustration from the community and acted accordingly. Once again xbox will become my second console of this generation.

what happened to the free online rumour..... I was all onboard with xbox when that rumour was being reported almost as news... now im quickly grabbing my stuff to get off this xbox train (wreck).

Since xbox bought Bethesda it sure seems there has been a growing confidence inside their company which often turns to arrogance which often leads to less friendly consumer practices.

@Hypnotoad107 I had every intention of buying a xbox for backward compatibility but I am one of the fifa and cod players you speak of and as a result have no interest in gamepass.. I will likely buy a playstation if Nintendo doesn't release a switch pro soon.

@eggsbox just sell the xbox series s for 250 next year and all of this will be taken care of. If people aren't willing to upgrade next year to play then microsoft is in a worse situation than I think they are in

@Scenes I would suggest that because xbox has never had free to play, definitely not first party games, that this would be unprecedented and as a result less likely to occur. If past actions is the best indicator of the future than its a long shot at best that your prediction will happen. I can't say with certainty it won't. But the odds have to be against it. Therefore it is much easier for someone to say it won't happen and be taken seriously than someone predicting it will happen and be taken seriously. I might as well ask what this week's lottery numbers are.

But sure I'll amend my statements to "it likely won't be free to play."

@Scenes maybe ftp was their plan but after spending billions on these companies their way of enticing new customers may have changed. It's a year away. All sorts of time for things to change either way. So unless you've been in the future I don't think it's fair to act like you definitively know.

I also would love free online but it's one of those I won't believe it till I see it things.

@JayJ Amazon is the worst. Although when people complain about companies I believe they are under the impression if they were billionaires they'd continue to be the people they are today. In reality most of us if we got that rich would become just as crappy. Maybe deep down were not so upset these companies get away with what they get away with, but we're more upset we aren't the ones getting away with it while being richer than rich.

@Scenes with that logic it should be playable on the 360 too since that's a hell of a lot of users to ignore. At some point we have to move on. If the xbox one is holding it back it's time to drop it. Series s is cheap enough to upgrade to if you haven't upgraded by next fall.

It's not like xbox one exactly sold gang busters. Skip it would be my vote.

@KelticDevil I ordered it and then found out Halo was delayed. So I sold it on launch day for profit because there wasn't any games to play other than a gears patch.

You know on nintendolife everyone seems to think I'm not a nintendo fan despite owning four switches because I spend so much time praising xbox tech and backward compatibility. But I guess in order to be a real fan on either thread you need to pass some sort of community hardcore test. I didn't know each thread had particular members which got to decide who was in and out. And yes look at that gamerscore. That is all the evidence one needs. Not the fact that I spent the energy to follow a site, spent my money supporting the systems and spent my time playing the games. Thanks for letting me know I don't belong here or there. I don't belong anywhere.
