I love me some mindless 4 player online co op games. So do my friends. We'll check it out this weekend, although it looks like it may not keep our attention for too long if this is all it offers. Love the art style, theme, colors.
I noticed some bugs the first week that kept me and my friends from gaming together so I shelved the game for a while. Went in this past weekend and noticed all the problems I had have been fixed. Now I get to fully enjoy the game with friends and have the whole game to look forward to yet still. I've basically just begun.
Just played this last night with 2 other friends. We just log in and go on little expeditions and have fun. It's a great excuse to get together and chat, drink, etc.. We haven't even really gone through the tall tales or campaign stuff yet. Still have all that to look forward to.
I'm so glad he didn't get a chance to ruin the future of the Xbox even more than he did. He destroyed the success of the Xbox so badly that they will never catch up again or match the popularity and sales of the PS. They were on equal footing during the PS360 era. And he has the balls to still say that he wishes he had the chance to carry out that delusional plan? Talk about being completely out of touch... The damage was substantial enough that there should be a documentary made called 'Donny Mattrick and the Fall of the Xbox'. That is his legacy. To think that he has no remorse, no regrets, and would continue to carry out a plan that a teenager could better formulate is beyond comprehension.
Does this update match the PC version, or surpass it? If it is superior, did the PC also get the update? Is it still a free game? Does it have crossplay/cross progression?
I love this game but my noob roommate and cousin stopped playing it with me because it was too hard for them. I stopped playing to accommodate them with easier games on our game night. I'll be jumping back into it by my damn self soon enough.
I'm perfectly fine being limited to the ones they provide to us, but I hope they keep them trickling in so we at least have a variety to choose from in the future.
There is no point in this when the cloud games can be played on just about anything mobile. I'd much rather see dedicated hardware akin to the Steam Deck. I still admire my Vita sitting here on my desk even though I don't use it much anymore.
Anyone who is bored with this game already is probably from a younger generation that have the attention span of a bird and just love rushing through everything just to get to their next addiction. Let them move on while the rest of us are still enjoying the game very much.
@hbkay I feel that game pass is a much better deal than I ever expected. I have over 40 games on my XSX right now and the vast majority of them are game pass games, and they are all games that I actually want to play. The thing is, I'll never have enough time to play them all. So for me personally, game pass is too much for me to handle, meaning it's a fantastic deal in my mind.
This game is really disappointing so far, almost as if it's from a different dev trying to be Battlefield. I remember all the complaints about BFV from so many people. Well, BFV is leagues better than this garbage, especially with visuals. Out of the two maps I played one of them looked like something from a PS3 or XBOX360 in higher res. Atrocious.
The original was most memorable for me, partly because of the impressive hardware. Nothing on PC could touch it except for maybe RTCW and MOHAA. PS2 couldn't even come close to games like Chaos Theory, Halo CE, Brute Force, Tao Feng, etc.. It almost seemed like a generation, or at least half a gen ahead compared to the PS2 and that has stuck in my mind since then. We'll never see that kind of gap again unfortunately, but I truly felt special owning an Xbox back then. Everyone had a PS2 and were shocked when I kept making claims that 'my version is better than your version' of games like Chaos Theory and proved it when they came over to check it out. I didn't care that the PS2 had a lot more games. After gaming on the Xbox everything I saw on the PS2 looked like utter garbage and I never even bothered buying one because of it.
At first I started playing the game and was like ok, this looks good. A bit better than FH4. Then I started driving around the map and it was mind blowing. The vastness, the amount of detail, the lighting, attention to details, and damn these guys are good at making stone and rock formations. It always irks me when I play a game and the rocks look like garbage, or they look procedural. So much love was put into this game. I spent hours last night just driving around taking screenshots. I haven't even played the game yet. Just drove around enjoying the scenery. The only small gripe I have is that I think the clouds move a bit too fast compared to real life.
I'm probably the only one that feels this way but I just wasn't impressed with this. I got incredibly bored with Demon's Souls on the PS5 but this reminded me that I need to go finish it.
I'm so glad they brought more of the same, just better. I love everything about these games except for maybe the changing seasons in FH4. I hate snowy weather in games and will be happy to not see it in FH5 for the most part.
I'm also very happy they went with Mexico instead of Japan. Japan would have been boring af and nowhere close to the variety, colors, biomes and amazing vistas of Mexico. Japan is so 3 gens ago. So happy to see games not focus on that street racing cliche anymore. PGR Japan would be pretty cool, but we'll never see PGR again.
I thought the beta felt like a 50% complete game with 50% complete visuals. I doubt Nov 12 is going to be much better so I'm not too excited about this, but I'll check it out.
Well if this is any indication they are planning on hardware for virtual spaces I really hope it's a focus on VR and not AR. I have no interest in AR and there is always a disconnect there with objects and the world. It's half baked VR, and there is no hardware out there today or in the next 5 years that will be able to fully integrate AR objects that is convincing to me. I'm definitely interested in fully realized, convincing, 100% virtual worlds and characters though and hope they are working on a true VR headset for this so called 'metaverse'.
Looking good so far. For all the people comparing it to Ubishat games and saying it's a hard pass, please, skip the game and let all the Halo fans enjoy it. Halo isn't here to break gaming rigs or be the next 'Crysis', and it never was. It's going to have great art style and atmosphere, and better gameplay and fun factor than almost every game out there. By all means, go ahead and pass on it while the rest of us enjoy the continuation of this universe immensely.
I just don't want a walking simulator or politics in the game. I'd like to see action and adventure, exploration, with online co op if you and your friends choose to, or solo if you choose to, great art and animation, lots of interactivity with surroundings and characters, and addictive game mechanics. That's the formula I enjoy in gaming.
And my PC version will have exclusive benefits as well that won't be on my PS5, such as better visuals at better frame rates, mods, free online play, k/m, and friends.
Halo Infinite and Battlefield are going to be my go to games anyway, not COD. I only play COD to train my noob friends for MP in better, more challenging games.
It's already apparent that Hipster's Row will undoubtedly be delayed to hammer some of the woke out of it or else they're in for a sales nightmare on release
I'll let all the kiddies play BR while I play the real game. I'll probably buy it a year down the road when the game is actually finished. By that time the BR mode will be dead anyway.
@Zucaritas I'm just the opposite. I find the simulation style games a bore fest compared to the Horizon games. The races are so bland compared to Horizon's vistas, great music, and action packed races.
What a lost opportunity with no online campaign co op. I'll check it out for a few minutes but won't put too much time in. Maybe they will get it right if there is a next time.
I've heard the PC version is clearly better but I'm still on the fence. I'm kinda disappointed in that the visuals were somewhat degraded from the first gameplay trailer we saw and I'm not at all impressed with the animation, which doesn't match the game in still pictures as far as detail and art style.
I would rather them delay campaign and keep polishing and adjusting it until online co op is available.
I will start with MP bot matches with my friends and MP if I'm alone. I'm not worried about MP but I am worried about the campaign. I have a feeling campaign was completely reworked and not sure if 1 year is enough time to fix everything.
Me and my friends are having a lot of fun in Halo 3 co op at the moment. They loved Halo 4 co op and we've played that more than anything so far.
I can't imagine it will be an interesting show if they aren't showing anything new or expand on what little has been shown of some games coming down the road. I hope to be surprised.
I will be testing this on my PS5 this weekend. But make no mistake, I'll be buying it for my PC, and then possibly Xbox. My PS5 is the red headed step child of my gaming platform trio. The only love it gets are the 5 PS exclusives I enjoy.
I really enjoy COD WWII and so do my friends. We still play it. I'm hoping this will be more of the same, with a great story campaign and some new WWII era maps. Wasn't there a rumor a while back that there may be online co op for the campaign? That would be great.
I'm not gonna lie, I was a lot more impressed with Ready 2 Rumble when that game came out. The graphics, animation and art style on my Dreamcast was just amazing at the time.
I've only played a few minutes so far but I already like it a lot. I just have so many damn games to play it's hard to divide my time up between them all. I still haven't played Skyrim yet.
Damn, this is a huge bummer. The first thing me and my friends do when a new Halo game is released is play online co op campaign. Even if the campaign releases, I won't be playing it for months. And they were seriously going to release this game last year????? WOW. I've defended the devs all the way up until this moment. No excuses anymore. This game should have been complete by November of this year.
My friends are not at all good with MP so I'll either be playing MP alone when they are not around or with bots until they learn how to game better. I guess that'll be it for 3 months.
They would have ruined Xbox's rep if they had launched this last year.
@SplooshDmg I had the wireless headset and it kept cutting out on my PC with the newest Xbox wireless dongle. It would also cut out on my XSX but not nearly as much. I think my Xbox was plugged into a strip, but not sure about the issue on my PC. I gave the headset to my roommate because she was not having the issue on her Xbox 1X, which I believe is plugged into the wall.
I played this several months ago and it seemed well done even back then. It was fun, but it just wasn't enough to pull me away from Halo, Battlefield, COD, Battlefront, PvZ, etc..
Love this game so far. Me and two others play online co op.
I'll have to test RT out tonight. The only annoying issue I've had is that sometimes a sound effect will randomly play in a loop very quickly, and it's very annoying until it stops.
I'm glad they added this. I have no issues with the difficulty but my roommate has never played a twin stick shooter and already has difficulty playing first person, third person, and pretty much every game type. She is fairly new to gaming and sometimes the skill gap can cause problems for us so I hope this is an individual difficulty setting.
I don't have an issue but then again, I play my Xbox and PC at a desk so I'm much closer than many people. My roommate sits in the living room on a 40 inch tv and did mention one time about the text size but I never heard her say anything again.

The new resolution mode is quite nice and looks very similar to the PC version. Good balance of visuals plus 60 fps. Does anyone know what all the RT was used for? It looks like reflections, but anything else?

Definitely good news, and considering the fact that nothing stays in stock for very long the actual sales are pretty much 12 mil as well.
