Just when you thought 2021 couldn't possibly deliver any more breathtaking announcements, the long rumoured Saints Row reboot looks to finally be surfacing at Gamescom Opening Night Live on August 25.
The tease comes from the show's presenter Geoff Keighley, who has shared an image of a graffiti sprayed wall, with the words "Rebooting" painted across it. Look even closer and you'll notice the Saints Row logo. If that wasn't enough to seemingly confirm the reveal, a link in the tweet also takes you to the Saints Row website... AND the game's official Twitter account has replied to it.
Convinced yet?
The rumours of a reboot have been ramping up throughout the past week, with a tease of a Gamescom reveal on the cards. It seems they were all true, and we won't have to wait too long to get the announcement.
Bring on next Wednesday!

I think it's great to see another Saints Row game considering we aren't getting many GTA-like games these days, especially not from Rockstar. Hopefully though it's more like the older games and not like SR4 where you play as a superhero. Even though I enjoyed that game, I just want to have a new GTA-like title to play.
Nice, I think this series desperately needs a reboot.. Hopefully they can deliver..
They better not go SJW on us. There's a lot of T&A in those games.
Yes! Love the Saints Row series, looking forward to seeing how they handle a reboot, I assume dial it back a little so they can ramp up the craziness again with sequels.
Hell yes, time to spend my reward points.
@SpacemanJupiter would it really be saints row if they conform to society's standards.
Being eight years since the last game, the time is more than right for something new and fresh for Saints Row, be it a new entry or reboot. I just would like the story to be more akin to the turf wars like in the first three entries. Even after what was an underwhelming game to some fans eyes in IV, the energy and excitement in the fanbase is still here.
@JetmanUK Just go back to square one with how the first game started, how it got over in favor with fans of open-world GTA-style games in the first place. They really enjoy the parody-style homage nature to GTA that SR embraced, especially from the second game onwards. I think the departure from that for IV wasn't necessary. Starting humble for a reboot isn't a bad strategy, you're right, but more important to know how you got to where you are and use that information as the basis for a successful reboot.
