New Halo Infinite Campaign Footage Is Here, And It Looks Awesome

I'm glad that they showed off more of the open world aspect. It looks really fun, can't wait to play it!

Roll on December 8th so I can get stuck in to both the campaign and the amazing multiplayer.

It looked great, the story cinematics look cool, gun play looked tight, boss fights. I'm impressed. Looking forward to playing it I just hope the open world isn't too Ubisofty with rinse repeat objectives.

That looks great! Halo is the reason I got into Xbox in the first place.

@SacredPYRO Exactly my concern regarding the open world. The use of the term "outposts" has me a little worried this might be Halo: Far Cry edition.

It’s was ok ish.
Currently grappling hook looked a good game play feature and seemed all ok.
Still in the trailer looked underwhelming from an environmental graphical and interaction perspective.
But will have to wait to play the game for real.
Definitely did not get that first time playing Halo on Xbox day one feeling, not next generation, but will have to wait to play it I guess.

Sorry but being honest and I’m an Xbox fan not Sony. Graphically Horizon zero dawn forbidden west walks all over this graphical. Let’s just be honest. Sony fan boys even if on the PS5 would not say Halo Infinite was amazing graphical.

I was hoping and I did like the game play and of course I may love it when I play on game pass.
But didn’t give me that vibe or wow factor graphically.

Still concerned as the trailer made it feel very much like your typical Ubisoft open world game like Far Cry, Watch Dogs and Assassin's Creed.

@Dezzy70 I agree with the graphics, but your argument is weird. What does Horizon have to do with Halo, and why are we comparing the two? So many people are constantly with graphics, as if that's the main reason to play a game. Don't get me wrong, graphics are a selling point, and it's great to play a game that is beautiful to look at, but at the end of the day story and gameplay are king.

@Dezzy70 I didn't mean that an insult by the way 😊 I just think, going by what you've said in the past, your expectations might not be compatible with what the game delivers. A lot people, I'd safely assume the majority of players, will love it. I didn't expect you to feel the same vibe that most are feeling, you're what I called a particular gamer. If it ain't seasoned to your taste then it's not a five star meal. Nothing wrong with that, but you'll have a lot of folks disagreeing with you 😉

And it is not fair to compare it to Horizon on PS5. It is a game with enclosed areas where you fight maybe tops 3-5 enemies, where Halo is much more open world with air combat and a multitude of different enemies and vehicles. Both are excellent in there own way, but hardly similar games.

Idk how ppl are saying this looks amazing. This is underwhelming for sure. Looking forward to the mp, will play the campaign. 343i for me-has ruined halo.

Some people on here I swear...they must either be the most negative, nitpicky, and overly pessimistic gamers, or are simply one those people

Looks absolutely fantastic! Cannot wait, though doing a solo Legendary run in an Open World will be somewhat challenging, me thinks! Bring it on...

Now I'm left wondering whether I need to play through 4 and 5 again just to get a reminder of the story as right now, my mind has gone blank...

I'm getting some Just Cause vibes from the vehicle request pads, enemy strongholds, and air grapple vehicle jacking. And I'm all for it.

Looks like a fun game, although I have reservations about the open world aspect. Ubisoft have done open worlds to death and to be honest I'm pretty tired of it.

I've cleared dozens, if not hundreds, of bases in Halo. That's primarily the gameplay. I don't see how people watch this and think it looks like Far Cry. Hopefully people aren't breathing out of the straws they are grasping for.

@Nerdfather1 Huge Xbox fan here. Totally understand and agree with what you are saying. But I could careless if the greatest story and game play ever in a game....and it was a 2-D or side scroller, or 8 bit game from the Nintendo Entertainment System that fell out my attic.

If game looks and has mechanics from 20 years ago my interest will always be zero.

This looks amazing, I knew they would deliver on the campaign.. This is gonna be epic...

For all people comparing Halo with Far Cry, just stop. It is not. Far Cry doesn't have smart AI enemies which make each encounter feel like a puzzle. It doesn't have such a rich sandbox that emphasizes weapons, grenades, melee, equipments and vehicles like Halo does. It's like comparing Bubsy the Cat with Mario just because they're both 2d side scroller characters.

Halo isn't a game I hype for but I do admit this looks good and has come along way since their last campaign reveal

It’s very admirable from a programming perspective. Let’s hope that is still there.

What I would like to know is it going to be like destiny campaign wise and get added to with updates and dlc campaign missions, taking you to new areas and new baddies etc?

They got a lot of flack for the release delay (I was also guilty of complaining!) but looking at the footage I think it has really paid off. Cant wait for this.

So... I actually didn't mind the visuals on the original footage last year (though I thought the gameplay looked a little dull).
But, holy crackers... this does look like a HUGE improvement. I'm actually looking forward to giving it a go now

Just watched a side by side comparison video, until I watched that I did not realise what the difference the year has made. It’s almost like a generation of consoles apart.
You don’t notice until you watch a good side by side comparison video.
Seems like they have done a good job for a year.

It looked amazing. I preordered the Steelbook edition right after this trailer. There is no special edition I believe. I have Gamepass, and I will stil use the digital version. Just want this in my collection. I also loved the test flights.

Looks so fun!! Really wish co-op was at release but I’ll just have to play it again in a few months!

Now I’m wondering how they are going to build on this. They said it will just be this game for a while and they will add to it. Will there be massive additional areas added in dlc like in destiny for sequel stories? I’m curious.

i’m excited to play, and can’t wait for the MP, but if i’m entirely honest it didn’t look incredible graphically, just looked kind of last gen to me, it doesn’t detract from it as far as i’m concerned but it certainly doesn’t look as polished as some of the current gen i’ve seen.

Looking good so far. For all the people comparing it to Ubishat games and saying it's a hard pass, please, skip the game and let all the Halo fans enjoy it. Halo isn't here to break gaming rigs or be the next 'Crysis', and it never was. It's going to have great art style and atmosphere, and better gameplay and fun factor than almost every game out there. By all means, go ahead and pass on it while the rest of us enjoy the continuation of this universe immensely.

I found it extraordinary but what I really don't get is the huge gap between reactions to this trailer and the one from last year.

What I mean is last year, I finished by asking myself if I was dumb, or something, cause I was under the impression that I was maybe the only one on the planet who found the trailer exceptionnal. I was extremely surprised, when I checked the comments on the web, to see all this negativity, the memes (even if they were funny), etc.

And now, same feeling : I don't understand. Cause I loved this trailer, but I don't think it showed me a different game than the one from the previous trailer. It's the same game, which looked perfectly fine for me, the last time I saw it. And the same goes for today.

So why the hate before, and the love now ?

On the game itself : going open world, for Halo, really gives me Metal Gear Solid 5 vibes. And I adored MGS5.

What I mean is that this game (MGS5) took everything we love in its series to then put it in a really, really bigger playground, finally letting the gameplay express itself like never before, AND without forgetting to tell us a good story.

I really think that Halo Infinite will success in the same way.

I’m not gonna lie. I was a little underwhelmed. It looks really pretty and technically nice but something about it just doesn’t appeal to me. I’ll give it a try on game pass and save final judgment until I get my hands on it. I’m still more hyped for Forza Horizon 5.

You know it's going to have a convoluted and entirely forgettable story. You also know it's going to have some of the best fps gunplay out there. Graphically it looks last gen with a 4K RT sheen. I've always thought Halo could be so much more but they are always fun nonetheless.

I hope DOOM GUY with his full suite of moves is brought in as a playable character. Maybe slightly less brutal kills of grunts and jackals though

I don't care about the open world at all, and I think it will hurt the game, but I'm super excited!

It looks beautiful, fun and more polished than before.

Horizon Forbidden West is the open world game like The Witcher 3, Assassins Creed or GTA with open world quest, battles with more than 20 enemies at the same time, more different types of enemies, air combat, underwather and sky enviroments while Halo Infinite is not.The developers themself have confirmed it.

343 says very clearly that Halo Infinite is not open-world, just in case there were any Halo fans that had that misconception. The Halo Infinite demo that was showcased in 2020 admittedly may have given that impression, but that was meant to convey the size and openness of certain levels rather than a true open-world nature. But no, Halo Infinite will not be an open-world game akin to Grand Theft Auto, Assassin's Creed, or the like.

I really hope there’s an achievement where you have to find the original Craig the Brute who is hidden somewhere in the open world.

Looks way better than Halo 5 but I won't be playing it for a while unless I can hunt down a Series X. I have an Xbox One but I feel like a game in one of the Xbox brand's biggest IP is best experienced on the flagship hardware.

I've always been something of a casual Halo fan, but this does look impressive. The ultimate Halo, if you will. If nothing else, I'm really glad for the hardworking folks at 343, that they've managed to prove the doubters wrong (not that all the negativity was unwarranted, mind, and some concerns still remain). Hopefully, the final game will deliver.

I was pretty hyped up for this game even if I hadn't played any other Halo before, so I went on and bought the MCC, and I gotta say, boy was it a colossal letdown.

I was super excited to finally get into this legendary FPS series since I love FPS games, but it quickly turned into my most regretted purchase.
It's just not fun.
I've spent 10 hours between Halo 1, 2 and Reach, and I gotta say, the fundamentals like moving and shooting are absolutely on point, which makes the horrible level design and mission structure stand out even more. I don't know, it just devolves into mindless, aimless shooting and just can't keep me engaged.
They're not bad games, at all, but I just don't see where all the praise comes from. I know the first one was super influential, but I just had to turn it off after 3 missions or so because it was boring me to tears.
Out of the three, Reach certainly seemed the most competent in its mission structure, and I might even grit my teeth and finish it.
Oh well, I hope 3, ODST and 4 will change my mind, but I think Halo is probably just not for me. A shame.
