Assassin's Creed Odyssey Is Officially Adding 60FPS Support For Xbox Series X, Series S

Ubisoft has issued the very exciting news for Assassin's Creed fans today that 2018's Assassin's Creed Odyssey is getting a free boost from 30fps to 60fps for Xbox Series X|S as soon as tomorrow, August 24.

It's worth noting that this has nothing to do with Microsoft's FPS Boost feature, and is instead an official patch, also rolling out for PlayStation 5. Nevertheless, the game will still run in backwards compatibility mode.

"This update adds 60 FPS support when running the game on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 through backwards compatibility."

The patch will be available from 8am CEST, 2 AM ET, 4 PM AEST, and 11 PM PDT (Aug 23), with the size clocking in at around 370MB on Xbox One, so it's not a big download whatsoever. No further details have been provided as of yet.

Assassin's Creed Odyssey is one of those games we'd been hoping would get a 60fps boost at some point, but we always assumed it would arrive via FPS Boost rather than an official update. Not that we're complaining, of course!

Happy to see Assassin's Creed Odyssey get the 60fps treatment? Let us know down in the comments.
