Ubisoft has issued the very exciting news for Assassin's Creed fans today that 2018's Assassin's Creed Odyssey is getting a free boost from 30fps to 60fps for Xbox Series X|S as soon as tomorrow, August 24.
It's worth noting that this has nothing to do with Microsoft's FPS Boost feature, and is instead an official patch, also rolling out for PlayStation 5. Nevertheless, the game will still run in backwards compatibility mode.
"This update adds 60 FPS support when running the game on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 through backwards compatibility."
The patch will be available from 8am CEST, 2 AM ET, 4 PM AEST, and 11 PM PDT (Aug 23), with the size clocking in at around 370MB on Xbox One, so it's not a big download whatsoever. No further details have been provided as of yet.
Assassin's Creed Odyssey is one of those games we'd been hoping would get a 60fps boost at some point, but we always assumed it would arrive via FPS Boost rather than an official update. Not that we're complaining, of course!
Happy to see Assassin's Creed Odyssey get the 60fps treatment? Let us know down in the comments.

YES! Finally!
Damn, just a little too late. I already got 100% complete in that one
Nice, Can't wait to play Odyssey, But i still have to finish a few more Assassins Creed games to get up to speed..
@Bmartin001 Same here, got Odyssee ultimate version in the sale as that got me assassin's creed 3 remastered for free, so now work my way up through all the games up to Odyssee
Haven't tried origins, odyssey or valhalla. But I did grab ac: unity and it's pretty fun.
Great news, now Origins!
I've been waiting on this since first getting my Series X. I've never played it and wanted to wait for 60 fps.
What!? It's finally happening. Crazy!
Would've loved to get this sooner, game looks stunning but the framerate bugged me out, and I don't often complain about that especially older games. Hell did they add it to the ubi club after all that time, rather weird playing a ubisoft game without getting to buy things in that shop.
I could go back to origins, np, but this is still to recent for me, sunk 240+ hours into it! And 195 into Valhalla.
Guess here is my excuse to go back and finish the DLC, and destroy the order once and for all!
So, they’re basically updating settings.ini from FPS=30 to FPS=60 and it took 9 months and is a 370 mb patch? Wow. /s
BuT teH humAn eye cAn only seE 24fps!!11
Lovely stuff, now give us ghost recon wildlands a boost 😊
@AgentGuapo
If it was that simple, I'm sure loads of games would be dropping these sort of patches!
Sadly it makes the game twice as smooth rather than twice as fast.
