What's the most anticipated release of the year? Halo Infinite? Forza Horizon 5? No, it's those Xbox Series X mini fridges, and GM of Xbox Games Marketing Aaron Greenberg has confirmed they're still coming in 2021.
Greenberg highlighted the fridges in response to a comment on Twitter yesterday, noting that they're "on track" for the holiday period, and the team will be sharing more as soon as they can. Here's the tweet:
If you're confused about what this whole mini fridge thing is about, Xbox promised to make them back in April after winning a Twitter contest, and they will be able to store around 10 beers/cans with room for snacks.
It might sound like a bit of a joke, but the mini fridges garnered over 4.5 million views on YouTube back at E3, and it really does sound like they're going to sell like hotcakes when they eventually launch in 2021. Put us on the list for one!

I can’t believe to get get one of these, we’re going to have to be ready to click “add to cart” at some specific time like it was a series X or PS5. Oh well, time to wait by the monitor.
I'd really like one of these for my office, but I'll likely miss out and be greeted by an out of stock notice. I'm not prepared to pay what the scalpers will charge on ebay.

@NEStalgia I was expecting something along the lines of a small bar fridge, so a mid-gen upgrade is much needed.
I was all in on this but I don't know now.
@WCB At least you don't need to pry the panels of and use a screwdriver to change the thermostat......
They aren't going to sell these are a loss, so they need to keep making these for a long time, they will all sell.
That would stop most people paying silly money on the internet and scalpers (as you would wait for one, unlike a console needed yesterday!)
