Re: Ubisoft Thinks Players Just "Don't Get" NFTs

isturbo1984

It would be cool to live in a world where MTXs were meaningful... Season Passes were an easy and cheap way to get quick access to a ton of content you missed... loot boxes were in fact "surprise mechanics"... and NFTs enhanced your gaming experience in some form. Unfortunately, we live in one where none of these exist and corporations say we're the ones who don't understand.

@101Force Shout out. Even here on this website, you have people who just want to beat the corporate narrative, pretending to be against it.

Re: Poll: Are You Happy With February 2022's Xbox Games With Gold?

isturbo1984

I'm just happy the BackCompat titles aren't ones I already own. I've been buying up everything on sale recently to fill out my BC library. That said, absolute trash this upcoming month. I found out what PlayStation's month looks like just before this news... I said to myself, "well, Xbox probably won." How wrong I was.

Re: Microsoft Is Making Changes To Refunds And Auto-Renewals On Xbox

isturbo1984

@Dusk_Actual I didn't even know there was a limit. Curious, what exactly are the criteria you personally use when refunding a game? I've only refunded one game on Xbox, and that was They Are Billions. A lazy console port with a plethora of problems. But the biggest issue where there were no achievements. Of any kind. I've never seen that before. so I said "screw this" and got a refund. I was barely within the refund window though.

Re: 2022 Will Be 'The Biggest Year Yet' For Sea Of Thieves

isturbo1984

My wife and I have played some pretty intense co-op titles over the years. Games like Overcooked, ect. Sea of Thieves was the one that broke us, lol. "Turn left! LEFT!" crash "What are you doin!?" "I was turning left!" "No you weren't, you were going right!!" "Why didn't you lift up off the sails fast enough?" "I told you not to pull them down that far, I can't see!" lol.

Re: EA Confirms Respawn Is Working On Three New Star Wars Games

isturbo1984

I could see a studio organically working on 2 games. A small team splintering off to do a side project or to get the ball rolling on something upcoming while the rest of the team has their nose to the grindstone with their main project. I'm no dev... but 3 games, all being Star Wars?? Seems like EA is trying to "bear-hug" Respawn to death like with their other studios.

Re: Dying Light 2 Trailer Reveals Three Performance Modes On Xbox Series X

isturbo1984

@Medic_Alert Yeah, I somewhat agree with that. There are limits. I don't think we need to all be playing at 240fps in order to get a good experience. 60 is a good base. But being locked at 60 or worse on more powerful hardware just because the developer decided not to include a switch the user can flip seems absurd to me. All this just reminds me we need to have some sort of list of basic dos and donts.

Re: Here's A Look At How Much Xbox Game Studios Has Grown Since 2017

isturbo1984

I'd like for Xbox to now start passing around studios and IP. I'm cool with Bethesda and Activision keeping their umbrella, but some studios like Toys For Bob deserve to be completely unrestrained and free to maneuver with whatever IP they would like. As much as I'd like them to do Spyro 4, the possibilities are endless.

@Alduin I find it funny the same people who beat the drum of "Xbox haz no Gamez" are now armchair anti-trust lawyers interning at Salt Inc lol.

Re: Best Xbox Indie Games: 40+ Great Games To Try In 2022

isturbo1984

@SacredPYRO Not true at all. These games are deigned with high replayability in mind, but it is not a requirement. Like you said, its a "post-game" ending. The problem with Hades is the ending isn't a post-game one. Rogue Legacy and Dead Cells for example aren't locked behind forced replays. It's the same reason why the Nier games are garbage, because they make you play through it multiple times just to get the full story. And the Hitman "World of Assassination" trilogy, while not roguelikes, greatly encourages replayability, but they don't hold back the ending, forcing you to replay every level multiple times. High. These people are high, lol. But glad you enjoyed Hades.

Gardens Between, I heard of that game. What kind of game is it? Myself, I'd put Cyber shadow on the list. It's up there with some of the 2D legends like Celeste and Hollow Knight.

Re: Dying Light 2 Trailer Reveals Three Performance Modes On Xbox Series X

isturbo1984

@Medic_Alert Hardly pointless at all. It's for future generations of hardware. Frame rate boost is nice. But one of the biggest problems with BackCompat in general and why I don't go back to play too many OG Xbox and 360 titles using BC is because none of the games support an uncapped mode that would greatly benefit from the Series X. At best with these games, we are locked at 30.

If devs dont start including an uncapped mode NOW, this problem will persist into the next generation. The most frustrating thing about this is that they know this and implement it on PC, but purposely hamstring consoles.

Tons of great games on the list. However, I wanted to highlight a game I don't think should be on the list. And that is Hades. I think people who believe this to be a good game are high. It was fantastic up until the devs gave up making the game after the 4th level, which btw was a shadow of the rest of the game that came before it... and then decided to make you play and beat the game 10 MORE TIMES in order to get the real ending. Such a colossal slap in the face. People complain about padding, recycled content and unfinished products. This is the best example of that. Lost massive respect for Supergiant.
