It would be cool to live in a world where MTXs were meaningful... Season Passes were an easy and cheap way to get quick access to a ton of content you missed... loot boxes were in fact "surprise mechanics"... and NFTs enhanced your gaming experience in some form. Unfortunately, we live in one where none of these exist and corporations say we're the ones who don't understand.
@101Force Shout out. Even here on this website, you have people who just want to beat the corporate narrative, pretending to be against it.
I get this game isn't everyone's cup of tea, but the game still suffers from the same problem it always has. Which his trying to peacefully do PvE story quests and some rando ganks and spawn traps you.
Right. I'm going to champion a self-described "fair to play" game just because the competition is trash. Interested to see how it does though. Komani really dropped the ball (har) with eFootball.
Would give it a shot if it weren't such a blatant copy. I feel I've played this colorful 3D platformer many times before. Even the promo music in the trailer was a ripoff lol.
I don't like Xbox "demos." In a lot of cases, they are the full game that takes up all the space on the hard drive, with just limiters. Also, you earn achievements, so if you end up not liking the game and do not wish to buy, you're stuck at 2% completion forever.
I'm just happy the BackCompat titles aren't ones I already own. I've been buying up everything on sale recently to fill out my BC library. That said, absolute trash this upcoming month. I found out what PlayStation's month looks like just before this news... I said to myself, "well, Xbox probably won." How wrong I was.
I feel like we already would have gotten one in Japan already. Maybe its not a great location or maybe they are just waiting until Forza Horizon falters a bit so they can pull this one out.
@Dusk_Actual I didn't even know there was a limit. Curious, what exactly are the criteria you personally use when refunding a game? I've only refunded one game on Xbox, and that was They Are Billions. A lazy console port with a plethora of problems. But the biggest issue where there were no achievements. Of any kind. I've never seen that before. so I said "screw this" and got a refund. I was barely within the refund window though.
I know GH has been part of the Xbox/Activision resurrection conversation lately, but we just got a new GH recently! Did y'all forget? Guitar Hero Live (2015).
@MaccaMUFC I mean, the LiS 2&3 games on the generation of consoles following the 360 games looked identical as well. Also, just wanted to throw out, LiS2 is one of the worst games I ever played, hands down.
@gollumb82 Thats the feeling i got, announcing this game obviously light-years early. I kinda feel like this is what the Half-Life 3 announcement would do, a couple of people pretending to be interested while most everyone only being curious.
And this is what happens when you breed this culture and narrative Xbox has for the past few years. It wasn't PlayStation fanboys who were upset, it was the narrative bros talking about "t0xlcltY" or some nonsense.
@UltimateOtaku91 That cuts me deeply lol. Crash 4 is my favorite game of the series, dethroning the original in my eyes.
As expected. But no2 isn't "topping." no1 is topping. Although, I will say this feat is more impressive than it looks, given the fact Infinite is on Game Pass and the multiplayer is straight up F2P.
Apparently, Microsoft and Steam aren't competitors either, seeing as Microsoft doesn't have a proprietary storefront on PC. No, no... some rando big tech company with a cloud gaming service in beta, THAT'S the real competitor. smh
My wife and I have played some pretty intense co-op titles over the years. Games like Overcooked, ect. Sea of Thieves was the one that broke us, lol. "Turn left! LEFT!" crash "What are you doin!?" "I was turning left!" "No you weren't, you were going right!!" "Why didn't you lift up off the sails fast enough?" "I told you not to pull them down that far, I can't see!" lol.
That was fast. Let's see how quickly it takes to flip something like Cyber Shadow. I will say though, despite the politics this game tries to push, I thought it was really enjoyable. I got way too into putting the toiletries exactly where I have them irl. lol
I could see a studio organically working on 2 games. A small team splintering off to do a side project or to get the ball rolling on something upcoming while the rest of the team has their nose to the grindstone with their main project. I'm no dev... but 3 games, all being Star Wars?? Seems like EA is trying to "bear-hug" Respawn to death like with their other studios.
Both look kinda cool. Besiege reminds me of TABS. Dreamscaper looks decent as well. Is it confirmed that isn't a roguelike, or are we just calling it that along with everything these days?
I spent about 100 dollars. Mostly games priced at $3.00 or less. I'm trying to pad out my BackCompat digital library. Seemed like a good opportunity. But hey, 38 games isn't bad.
@SacredPYRO I will say this... the dialogue in Hades was top notch. Proper use of narrative story-telling if ever there was one. Spot on with feeling like you are progressing, even when you die.
Gears and Fable are both my personal prime candidates. I wouldn't want a lazy collection though. They would have to remaster either Gears 2 or Fable II, similar how we got that gorgeous Halo 2 Anniversary version.
@LX_FENIX We could get a reworking. There is more than just upping resolution and frame rate.
@Epux_fhouwuo Yeah, a lot of the ignorance is from those who just don't pay attention. Like, I count 23 studios on that graphic, not including Activision. but now... NOW we have some games lol.
@Medic_Alert Yeah, I somewhat agree with that. There are limits. I don't think we need to all be playing at 240fps in order to get a good experience. 60 is a good base. But being locked at 60 or worse on more powerful hardware just because the developer decided not to include a switch the user can flip seems absurd to me. All this just reminds me we need to have some sort of list of basic dos and donts.
I'd like for Xbox to now start passing around studios and IP. I'm cool with Bethesda and Activision keeping their umbrella, but some studios like Toys For Bob deserve to be completely unrestrained and free to maneuver with whatever IP they would like. As much as I'd like them to do Spyro 4, the possibilities are endless.
@Alduin I find it funny the same people who beat the drum of "Xbox haz no Gamez" are now armchair anti-trust lawyers interning at Salt Inc lol.
@SacredPYRO Not true at all. These games are deigned with high replayability in mind, but it is not a requirement. Like you said, its a "post-game" ending. The problem with Hades is the ending isn't a post-game one. Rogue Legacy and Dead Cells for example aren't locked behind forced replays. It's the same reason why the Nier games are garbage, because they make you play through it multiple times just to get the full story. And the Hitman "World of Assassination" trilogy, while not roguelikes, greatly encourages replayability, but they don't hold back the ending, forcing you to replay every level multiple times. High. These people are high, lol. But glad you enjoyed Hades.
Gardens Between, I heard of that game. What kind of game is it? Myself, I'd put Cyber shadow on the list. It's up there with some of the 2D legends like Celeste and Hollow Knight.
Game looks great. I found some newfound love for From's games after recently beating DSII. It will probably be a while before I got to this one though.
@Medic_Alert Hardly pointless at all. It's for future generations of hardware. Frame rate boost is nice. But one of the biggest problems with BackCompat in general and why I don't go back to play too many OG Xbox and 360 titles using BC is because none of the games support an uncapped mode that would greatly benefit from the Series X. At best with these games, we are locked at 30.
If devs dont start including an uncapped mode NOW, this problem will persist into the next generation. The most frustrating thing about this is that they know this and implement it on PC, but purposely hamstring consoles.
Tons of great games on the list. However, I wanted to highlight a game I don't think should be on the list. And that is Hades. I think people who believe this to be a good game are high. It was fantastic up until the devs gave up making the game after the 4th level, which btw was a shadow of the rest of the game that came before it... and then decided to make you play and beat the game 10 MORE TIMES in order to get the real ending. Such a colossal slap in the face. People complain about padding, recycled content and unfinished products. This is the best example of that. Lost massive respect for Supergiant.
Truth is, there is a ton of quirky situations where my Xbox won't allow me to play offline. Sometimes internet is spotty or there is some sort of server downtime blocking me from one Xbox function or another. and a lot of the times, the ultimate result is I can't access a game. Getting sick of it.
