@sheady thats a good point. devs havent been very "optimal" when it comes to the Series S|X optimization front. i wouldnt be surprised if they just left in a bunch of old assets out of laziness.

@NEStalgia yeah, i hate to trash the feature. its very on a case by case basis. requires a lot of experimentation. its great when it works. i always save and quit out to the main menu in-game before using QR. as it stands about a third of the time i Resume Gears Tactics, it freezes as soon as i hit continue.

I emailed LR about a year ago and asked them about Xbox releases and one of their people replied and said that Xbox will not allow them to publish games on their platform. I am not privy to this new deal, but that initial response sounded like complete bullshine to me. I don't know whose wheels needed to be greased, but looks like someone finally is satisfied.

Sony will be fine. But let's all be honest... Sony did this to themselves. They've been hitting below the belt for generations. and Microsoft is several weight classes above them when it comes to resources. But the good news for PlayStation fans is it looks like we're getting Game Pass on the PS5 in the near future lol.

I didn't expect any different from a Game Pass day-one AAA title. They all seem to be garbage service games. Pleased with the indie front though.

Here's yet another one: Not long after the Switch Ori port, he was asked about more ports coming to Switch... his response was they are done with porting games to other platforms, that these were just "pre-existing obligations" they had to fulfill. Not only immediately after that, he announced all Xbox Game Studios games getting a day and date release on Steam, but here we are with another of their games coming to Switch yet again.

I voted "not sure." It can go either way, if we are being honest. Xbox has been just as unpredictable in the last few years than Nintendo has. You just don't know what first party games are going to appear on other platforms. There always seems to be a different set of changing rules on how they handle each competing platform. So its anyone's guess. I'm not going to pretend I know one way or the other... and anyone who claims insight is as bad of a liar as Phil is.

@LtSarge You mean exclusive as far as the console space goes. Let's not forget that Microsoft Xbox has their own platform on PC and Steam is a competitor. And as far as we know, Quake wasn't exactly an existing franchise on PlayStation, so Phil's "legacy" argument doesn't hold water here.

I really hope Xbox sorts out Backcompat discoverability. There is currently no search terms to find 360 or OG Xbox backcompat games in the store or in deals. This sale is great though.

Woah! This has got to be one of the most stacked release windows in GP for me so far. They all seem great except for the one game I haven't heard of. Feeling the itchies again when you have too many games, but too little time.

Been waiting for Dan to come to Xbox. Still some growing pains as the series didn't mature over here, similar to Yakuza. So... is this the first game? And are we going to get the sequels ever??

Seriously though, Sony is killing it right now on the PS+ front. It doesn't have to be Game Pass one-for-one just to compete. If you can only choose one, there are plenty of people choosing their couple of quality games on their PlayStation console with their current subscription model.

These topics always make me mad. Just the complete out of touch mentality of the gatekeepers of the industry. Consoles have been backcompat since the PS2 era. Digital gaming on consoles have existed since the 360 generation. PC exists. But woaaah~ NOW they're starting to learn. My God, It's enough to make you want to pull your hair out. I'd personally put Achievements a bit higher on the priorities list, but the concerns look good. My main issue with the X after having one for just a few months is I have to frequently restart it because it boots up from Instant-On mode in 420p and with the sound muted... and no, it's not my tv.

Hoping to get my B4B do-over with Rainbow Six Extraction. Hopefully this time the game it won't record your voice chat or force you to play with randos.

Hopefully the game gets released. It's one of my most anticipated titles of the year. I've been saying for years that a Bully-style HP game would be cool. And they finally are working on one. Also, why do so many people think its getting cancelled? This is the one! not the 47 other delayed games in the past year, lol.

I played and beat 50 games in 2021. I personally ranked Halo in the mid-30s. So the lower half of my entire list. It's not that the game was "so-so" for me, but rather it was divisive. I loved half of it, and hated the other half. It was the hardest game of 50 to place. The sandbox was some of the best gameplay I ever experienced. But the disrespect to the character, lore and the player was unforgivable.

@Ashadelo Yes. The PS2 of that era was backwards compatible. The concept of better hardware on console side running previous gen games better wasn't completely foreign even then. 4 whole generations later, console games on the PS5 and Series S/X are still being made for them without an uncapped option. Completely ***** if you ask me.

This is why all developers should have an uncapped frame rate option in all games.

I'm honestly surprised Sony didn't disable the usage of Xbox controllers for PC, requiring a work-around. I suppose if they had, "here's how" articles would be popping up everywhere.

I guess 2? I feel the series has gotten better as it goes along. Excited to play 3.

Gears Tactics on my Series X. And Final Fantasy II, the PSP remaster. I'm finally (har) going to play and beat all of the mainline FF games. And going to do them all in order. Something I've been wanting to do for a while.
