I would like to take the time to personally graduate Ubisoft on the game finally releasing after over a year in beta.

@LtSarge Yeah, the Russia arc in WaW introduces Victor Reznov. It's clear they didn't intend to have him be a main character until after production of Black Ops, but its more relevant to the BO storyline than BOIII & "IIII" were. BOIII is Black Ops in name only. Decent campaign, honestly, but the only ties to the rest of the games is a brief mention of the villain in BOII.--The game takes place even further in the future after BOII. And BO4 was the battle royale one with no story I never touched.

I've added Phil on my Xbox. He's always playing something. Dude has all the billboards smashed in Forza Horizon 5 lol. I criticize him a lot for things, but I'm thankful he is a gamer. Less prone to being out of touch like a lot of the other CEO types.

I agree, great campaigns. My personal favorite is the Black Ops story trilogy. And when I say Black Ops trilogy, I mean World at War, BO1 and BO2. And insane saga that starts in WWII and ends in the future.

Microsoft might not be able to talk about them, but that doesn't mean they can't do business with Activision. Like start putting the games on Game Pass. I expect moves like that in 2022 before the "ink dries."

Would have picked Warcraft if the option wasn't dumbed down to just the WoW mmo. I picked Crash.

Just a BackCompat game of some type I don't already own. Preferably something normally on the expensive side that doesn't go on sale for less that $5. I'm trying to fill out my BackCompat library with the ultimate (but unlikely) goal of downing all of them digitally. A freebie every once in a while helps. anything new or decent is just going to go to Game Pass anyway, so keeping my expectations low.

@Sakai Reverend clued me in. I thought Microsoft was implementing an additional in-game currency. But my reply to you was all about a different topic entirely. Specifically your bullshine on discounting all criticism as being toxic. You obviously have no interest in the subject. @Johnnel The majority of Nintendo characters in Smash use swords, lol. Really though, this isn't that much of an issue anymore. Xbox owns so much IP, they would have no trouble finding characters that exclusively do not use guns.

"Mabe, depends." It would depend if it was a blatant ripoff similar to PlayStation All-Stars or Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl. Those games weren't good. I think if Xbox is going to have their own Smash Bros, it has to be something other than a brawler. It can be a shooter or an RPG. But if we are keeping it in the fighting genre, just expand Killer Instinct to include more guests. Sequel 1: Killer Instinct 2: Clever Subtext. Sequel 2: Formerly Subtext, Now Proper Title 2.There's a rumor the next Mario Kart is doing the same thing.

I don't know if it just like on the PS5, but yes, you can share Game Pass using "gameshare" on the Xbox. I too currently have a Series X and a Series S. My wife primarily plays in the game room using her account on a smaller tv with the Series S. All purchases, including Game Pass are done through my account on the Series X. I can confirm, she has full access to all the GP titles. You will have to make the other console your "home console" however, so just be aware of that because Microsoft allows you to switch home consoles only a limited amount of times a year.

Plugging away at FFII still. It's been an enjoyable experience, but these NES-generation JRPGs are such a slog, even with modern quality-of-life improvements. Haven't decided on which game yet, but planning on throwing in a fighter I have in my physical backlog. Either Dragon Ball FighterZ or Mortal Kombat XL.

@Sakai No need to get offended and be sarcastic. We're talking about two different things here. You are arguing that insulting and toxic behavior isn't optimal, and pretending I don't know that. I am arguing that simply being nice is not a prerequisite for giving criticism. Perhaps your use of the word "toxic" is what is confusing things. If you mean insulting and name calling, then why not just say that? You made it sound like any negative criticism should be thrown out. You didn't' exactly refute that. Is that your stance, that if one is simply rude or harsh, then that criticism is no longer valid?

Also, to further my original point. Just give an example: I recently beat Cyber Shadow before it left Game Pass. And while I was giving my own glowing review on the Xbox console itself... there were quite a bit of 1-star reviews. Most of them read the same. They were quite rude and insulting. I discounted their criticism, but NOT because they were being "toxic," but because the absolute clowns clearly played one level of the entire game, noped out because it was too hard, then proceeded to give their opinion that the game and the developer's works was a one-star quality. And to juxtopose, there are plenty of polite opinions that follow suite and aren't valid for a verity of reasons as well. Likewise, politeness/toxicity isn't among the reason why. So true in both cases. What say you?

No. ALL criticism is valid. Some may not be nice. But to dismiss criticism because it doesn't plead on its knees is echo chamber nonsense. It's a business. Gamers are customers. If people aren't buying a product because people are upset, they better listen. Grandstanding, demanding everyone be nice is not doing them favors. And gatekeeping the feedback space by demanding people do such isn't doing them favors either.

And of course, by "best" they mean sales and subscriptions. Netflix will learn, either the hard way or by paying attention, that if they want to compete that they'll have to put quality first. Something that will never come to pass if they chase they keep chasing Apple Arcade. I doubt they even are looking at Game Pass as a competitor.

@Bleachedsmiles Looks like that is their overall strategy. But Microsoft has been so unpredictable. and now with the Activision acquisition... my safest bet is to not bet at all. I just kinda never say never.

My end goal is to own just one viable platform. Not quite there yet... have to buy them all still. Rumor is this Xbox GP on PlayStation will be a gimped version.

@GuyinPA75 Good point. Yeah, seems the BF community has a lower tolerance for impurities when it comes to their game. BFV faced backlash too for its revisionist history. I wish other communities had a backbone when it came to all the nonsense. But I suppose the greatest nonsense of them all is a game just not working.

I'm not so sure he is going to be leaving. Kotick looked pretty chummy with Phil in that interview. Activision isn't exactly "training" anyone to take over. Not yet anyways. And if the problems are dealt with, there shouldn't be any reason to eject Bobby, except to appease the bloodlust. Activision is a pretty big company and Bobby has successfully been leading it for the past 20 years, as much as it pains me to admit it.

@Medic_Alert I mean, if Battlefield worked, there would be room for it. Halo wasn't exactly up there with Fortnite, Apex and Warzone... until Infinite released.

I will give it to him. Amazon, Google and Facebook are all worse than the likes of Steam, Nintendo and Sony. However... Microsoft as a whole is closer to the dishonest, slimy, censoring, authoritarian big tech. Nintendo isn't colluding with big tech to censor and ban everything that doesn't tow the line.

If it were one studio pumping out an annual franchise, I'd say yes, give these games more time to incubate. But is three years on a recycled engine not enough?? Just looks what Playground has done in 3 years time with Forza Horizon. Maybe its a question of chops. Also, will more time mean no predatory MTXs in the game? Doubt it. But... but... will someone think of the devs!

@FraserG "There's your answer." Hardly. He didn't clarify anyting but the franchise existing in some form on PlayStation. Which could mean just Warzone. He didn't commit by saying all annual upcoming releases will be on the PlayStation in the future. He didn't really commit anything.

Really hoping Toys For Bob in specific gets retribution and left alone to work on some cool projects. Spyro 4 and whatever else they would like to do. Would be cool if Vicarious Visions got reformed as well, but I doubt it.

Doubt it. EA recently has been making purchases themselves. Activision was EA's biggest competitor and now they are gone. EA is probably in its most comfortable spot its been. This just seems like nonsense guesswork.

This looks amazing. This not only looks like potentially the best Lego game release, but dare I say the best SW game. I'd love it if they gave the Batman series this remake treatment.

I don't, full stop. Guitar Hero was cool for the time, but another big peripheral rhythm game in the home isn't something I want, even though I had tons of fun with GH and RB. And Skylanders are literally games made for kids. It's not a dig to those who enjoy them. But for that very reason, there are more gamers uninterested in toys to life games, including myself. Let's just focus on tony Hawk, Spyro and Crash, eh?

We have devs and the heads of companies who are gamers. Now can we get some investors who are also gamers? I feel like the war on rich CEOs is slightly misguided. The real problem are these investors who constantly push for a product to come out early and unfinished then surprised pikachu face when it flops. Then everyone in the company runs around trying to appease them.

So many unknowns. We'll have a better view of everything once Starfield releases on whatever platforms it releases on this fall. If it's PC and Xbox console only, then I would expect Call of Duty to follow suit. But pretty sure Warzone will be taking the ESO route. The only other thing I will say is Sony is lucky to have a competitor like Microsoft. If the situation were reversed, absolutely everything would be pulled down, locked down and multiplats cancelled.

So is Hitman trilogy a new SKU? Or is it just a portal to the previous games? Would not mind going back and doing it all again for achievements.

@LtSarge any xbox cloud streaming to any device really. your feedback is much appreciated. i havent even tried the instant cloud streaming on the console yet.

I tested xCloud about a year ago on my Desktop. It was absolutely horrendous. Has it gotten better since then? I'm not going to lie, playing the Switch in bed is a bit cumbersome.

@icomma So gamers aren't humans and haven't been treated like garbage? Not sure where you are gong with this. Lives have been ruined by the predatory and addictive nature of games like Candy Crush. This isn't the Oppression Olympics. I'm just saying I care more about the collective of billions than I do a few thousand. Also, a lot of the abuse that has been going on there have been committed by the employees themselves.

@Zochmenos Makes sense. Yeah, while I am in the digital only crowd when it comes to Xbox gamers, I completely understand there is a large group of Xbox guys who will thoroughly enjoy their physical collection and would welcome LR on the greenside.

That would be absolutely massive if there was a large drop, similar to the Bethesda GP drop shortly after that acquisition announcement. Sadly, i have no interest in any of those titles. Not because i think the games are bad, rather because I have played all of them already lol.
