Rumour: Another Xbox Franchise Is Getting A Remastered Collection

It's been a number of years since we got Halo: The Master Chief Collection. It was quite a unique bundle, as missions and maps could be interchanged at will, well, when it was fixed at least. Since then, there's been all sorts of talk about a Gears of War collection, and a new rumour points towards something similar coming.

This week's 'XboxEra' podcast discussed a new rumour surrounding an 'MCC-style' collection being developed for another Xbox franchise. One of the show's hosts, "Shepshal Nick", didn't name the series, but said he's been told it's in the works and could release this or next year. Here's the timestamp:

Details are incredibly light here, so take it with a grain of salt. The hosts speculate on a bunch of Xbox franchises, including Gears of War, Fable, and possibly something from Bethesda's catalogue.

As pure speculation on our part, Gears of War seems to fit the bill the most. It has extensive online play, which could cross over multiple games, and of course the series is hugely popular.

There was also something that could be considered a tease posted by Gears developer The Coalition earlier this year. The team posted a New Years 2022 message, along with some extremely detailed Gears of War 2-era artwork that certainly looks like more than a 2008 leftover.

Fable could also make a lot of sense, to bring players back into the fold before Playground Games' reboot launches in the coming years. Again, both of these are just speculation on our part, and we'd like to see either to be honest!
