I tried it for a couple of hours, but it didn't click for me. It felt a bit janky and dated, as I expected. I'm glad to see it is being well received, though, despite the performance issues. I am looking forward to Expedition 33 on Thursday!

I can't imagine the game is charting that highly outside the US.

@Eightoheight @Ricky-Spanish They had to remove the in app streaming function to make the app a "store," allowing them to circumvent the 30% Apple and Google commission. PlayStation does the same thing with remote play as a separate app, and Xbox now has a separate cloud streaming app and website. You just have to Google Xbox Cloud Gaming, and the website will pop up.

I sold my PS5 a couple of weeks back due to a lack of original games, and I don't regret it. I'm happy enough playing my JRPGs on Switch 2 and using Game Pass for the Xbox games, plus others like Expedition 33.

@abe_hikura Virtous probably did that to hit higher frame rates - they are experts in game optimisation.

I read turn-based and immediately gained interest.

This looks to be the big end-of-2025 game for Microsoft. It will launch somewhere between September and December, depending on when GTA 6 launches.

So far, it's Avowed—I have yet to finish KCD 2 and AC Shadows, so that may change soon. Atomfall was also enjoyable, but it was more of an 8/10 than a 9 or 10/10.

@themightyant You can blame IGN for that. It's the capture, not the game, that is tearing.

It certainly didn't give that arrogant tone that happened with the PS3 launch. The Switch Lite is a very affordable and still very capable little handheld as an option.

I would only spend £75 ($80) on premium games like GTA 6, Crimson Desert, and Ghost of Yotei.

I am slightly apprehensive about this one. My gut tells me something is off (lower price point isn't helping). Hopefully, I am wrong but I won't be buying this until I have seen some reviews.

It can run at 120fps on Series X if you have VRR and a 120hz monitor. That's the big upside of the visuals not being cranked up to 10.

Looks interesting and glad to hear I can check it out on GamePass.

I finished the game in late February and thought it was a 9/10. I enjoyed the 56 hours spent in the world, and I could have stretched it to 60 hours if KCD2 hadn't also been competing for my time (I'm still working on that time sink!).

Disappointing, but hopefully it frees them up to go full steam on the sequel.

I completed the game in around 20 hours and had a good time with it. I had some issues on Series X, including 6 crashes to the dashboard and some audio bugs. The option for up to 120fps on a 120Hz monitor with VRR was very impressive. Overall, a very solid 7.5 for me.

If it's anything like a souls-like then it's probably a no for me - art style looks good though.

Xbox going to make lots of extra £/$.

Before any buyout, there will be huge levels of redundancy- maybe up to 10,000 or the almost 20,000 staff before the company would be "sellable" to someone like MS or Tencent.

@AccessibleDaydream MTX makes you spend more time in the game which then generates more money. Hence the saying time is money.

Based on how long they have been polishing, October looks all set (as long as GTA 6 doesn't drop there).

@RiverGenie Looks like it's linked to audio settings - Dolby Atmos and spatial sounds could be causing an audio bug which makes the game crash. The dev team also asked my what controller I was using so the audio on that could be a factor.

Anyone else having issues with crashes? I have seen a few people mention it online but then others say they haven't. I am on the full price Series X version not the Gamepass build.

Really enjoyed Veilgaurd overall and hope it reaches a wider audience if it comes to Gamepass.

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 for the final few missions and Assassins Creed Shadow - which I am finding really enjoyable so far. It's right up there with Ghost of Tsushima and probably a bit ahead of it too. I do wonder if Yotei will live up to Tsushima which is a concern. It's probably the game I'll get a PS5 Pro for ahead of GTA 6

I find the cloud gaming service interesting as it seems to run off Xbox Series S code. A very good addition.

If there is a way I can avoid looking up guides or Youtube for support with games, that would be great.

Only worth a purchase if you play many fighting games, otherwise a waste of a gimmick.

Give it a year or 2 and it will be on Xbox.

My main concern is if I will enjoy this game and I think I will based on what I have seen so far. As for sales, I don't understand why anyone other than a Ubisoft shareholder should worry about that. The company will either remain as is or be sold to ensure the valuable IP's get used. I will play the game and leave the armchair analysts to the echo chamber.

I love Starfield and spent like 7 days worth of hours in it, but it's not the best single player narrative of all time. I would say the narrative is one of the weaker points of the game. The fun comes from the other game systems and the exploration. I think Red Dead Redemption 2 is probably right up there.

It would be great to get an AC Shadows or Atomfall Dynamic theme.

You can't deny Ubisoft optimise console games well. One of the few developers that gets Raytracing on the Series S.

Microsoft is a software company, it's literally in their name. That's where the trillions of $ come from and it will keep their gaming division health to have as many revenue streams as possible. You wouldn't see any other large software publisher restrict platforms.

I really don't mind thier strategy at all, I might not get the next Xbox but they don't care because they know I'll be buying thier games or using gamepass on something.

Some people need to stop with the console sales argument, it's pointless.

MS are making more money than Nintendo because that's what they are good at. Too many observations are fixated on console sales when it's the services and software that make the profits. Right now I have my Series X and I'm enjoying the majority of my games on there with PS5s ever slimming offerings of 1st party exclusives I'm interested in. In the future I might just go PC and Switch 2 as Nintendo is the one who just has so many must have exclusive via 1P and 3P.

I'm looking forward to the show, hopefully we get some release dates.

Looks nice! Might pick it up. Lots of first party Xbox games coming out this year to use it with too.

Clair Obscur will be getting a spring 2025 date as confirmed by the developer so likely march - may. I expect the others In summer/autumn of 2025 with fable either late 2025 or early 2026. Gears of War E-day and perfect dark in 2026.

Persona 6 or I won't be surprised

I would pay £80-100 for GTA 6 or Persona 6 due to the sheer amount of quality content Vs cost. I wouldn't for any other games though.
