Some great additions to Game Pass this year, with more to come over the next couple of years. I am not sure if I will get the next Xbox, but to be honest, it's hardly like PlayStation has tons of new exclusives that I want to play, and Xbox offers better system features.

For me, the next-gen console pick will boil down to which one has the better system features and services.

It will probably be another older game.

@mac_da_man It will probably be the best-looking Series S game to date, albeit at 30fps and 1080p max, but most people won't care.

It will be the best-looking 30fps game made to date, and the vast majority of people won't even know it's 30fps. That's why cheaper £300-£500 consoles like PlayStation and Xbox are mass market.

Despite knowing about fps, 30 fps doesn't often bother me. For those who it does bother, a high-end PC is the option.

This should tide me over until Mafia in August

Xbox Series S and X are still going for their previous prices at Smyths and Game in the UK - prices will go up soon, though, now Argos has raised its prices.

The PS5 digital went up to £430 and I'm waiting for the disc drive version to go up to £500 like the Series X now. Lucky Sony didn't know Xbox was going to raise it's own digital Series X to £450 or the Digital PS5 would have been £450.

Still a lot of Xbox exclusives at the moment, more than enough to keep me around for now.

So November 2026 then? Haha. They did the exact same thing with RDR2.

Just another company passing increased US prices to other countries like Sony. Sad times. Maybe I'll just stick to Switch 2 and get a PC.

Played about 15 hours on the series S and it runs great. I have a 1080p VRR monitor and I don't mind 30fps so I'm all good. The one thing that can let series s games down is texture quality but I see no issues with that in this game.

Lots of release dates are dropping now. Looks like GTA 6 has either made that November/December date or is being pushed into 2026. We will see soon enough.

On PC it's 100% digital sales - consoles just coming in line.

Another 10/10 turn-based banger!

Tried for a couple of hours but wasn't my cup of tea, on to Expedition 33 now!

I tried it for a couple of hours, but it didn't click for me. It felt a bit janky and dated, as I expected. I'm glad to see it is being well received, though, despite the performance issues. I am looking forward to Expedition 33 on Thursday!

I can't imagine the game is charting that highly outside the US.

@Eightoheight @Ricky-Spanish They had to remove the in app streaming function to make the app a "store," allowing them to circumvent the 30% Apple and Google commission. PlayStation does the same thing with remote play as a separate app, and Xbox now has a separate cloud streaming app and website. You just have to Google Xbox Cloud Gaming, and the website will pop up.

I sold my PS5 a couple of weeks back due to a lack of original games, and I don't regret it. I'm happy enough playing my JRPGs on Switch 2 and using Game Pass for the Xbox games, plus others like Expedition 33.

@abe_hikura Virtous probably did that to hit higher frame rates - they are experts in game optimisation.

I read turn-based and immediately gained interest.

This looks to be the big end-of-2025 game for Microsoft. It will launch somewhere between September and December, depending on when GTA 6 launches.

So far, it's Avowed—I have yet to finish KCD 2 and AC Shadows, so that may change soon. Atomfall was also enjoyable, but it was more of an 8/10 than a 9 or 10/10.

@themightyant You can blame IGN for that. It's the capture, not the game, that is tearing.

It certainly didn't give that arrogant tone that happened with the PS3 launch. The Switch Lite is a very affordable and still very capable little handheld as an option.

I would only spend £75 ($80) on premium games like GTA 6, Crimson Desert, and Ghost of Yotei.

I am slightly apprehensive about this one. My gut tells me something is off (lower price point isn't helping). Hopefully, I am wrong but I won't be buying this until I have seen some reviews.

It can run at 120fps on Series X if you have VRR and a 120hz monitor. That's the big upside of the visuals not being cranked up to 10.

Looks interesting and glad to hear I can check it out on GamePass.

I finished the game in late February and thought it was a 9/10. I enjoyed the 56 hours spent in the world, and I could have stretched it to 60 hours if KCD2 hadn't also been competing for my time (I'm still working on that time sink!).

Disappointing, but hopefully it frees them up to go full steam on the sequel.

I completed the game in around 20 hours and had a good time with it. I had some issues on Series X, including 6 crashes to the dashboard and some audio bugs. The option for up to 120fps on a 120Hz monitor with VRR was very impressive. Overall, a very solid 7.5 for me.

If it's anything like a souls-like then it's probably a no for me - art style looks good though.

Xbox going to make lots of extra £/$.

Before any buyout, there will be huge levels of redundancy- maybe up to 10,000 or the almost 20,000 staff before the company would be "sellable" to someone like MS or Tencent.

@AccessibleDaydream MTX makes you spend more time in the game which then generates more money. Hence the saying time is money.

Based on how long they have been polishing, October looks all set (as long as GTA 6 doesn't drop there).

@RiverGenie Looks like it's linked to audio settings - Dolby Atmos and spatial sounds could be causing an audio bug which makes the game crash. The dev team also asked my what controller I was using so the audio on that could be a factor.

Anyone else having issues with crashes? I have seen a few people mention it online but then others say they haven't. I am on the full price Series X version not the Gamepass build.

Really enjoyed Veilgaurd overall and hope it reaches a wider audience if it comes to Gamepass.

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 for the final few missions and Assassins Creed Shadow - which I am finding really enjoyable so far. It's right up there with Ghost of Tsushima and probably a bit ahead of it too. I do wonder if Yotei will live up to Tsushima which is a concern. It's probably the game I'll get a PS5 Pro for ahead of GTA 6

Excited for this one. I pre ordered the deluxe edition to get the early access on the 24th. I can't wait to get started.

I find the cloud gaming service interesting as it seems to run off Xbox Series S code. A very good addition.

If there is a way I can avoid looking up guides or Youtube for support with games, that would be great.

Only worth a purchase if you play many fighting games, otherwise a waste of a gimmick.
