Update #2 []: Right, we've got some more details on this now! SCS Software has indeed confirmed that Euro Truck Simulator 2 and American Truck Simulator 2 are coming to Xbox, although only for the Series X and Series S (and not Xbox One as first advertised).
There's no release date yet as there's "quite a bit of work still ahead":
"Of course, this is just the beginning, and with quite a bit of work still ahead, we’ll be sharing much more about this project, what you can expect, and more about our plans when the time comes."
This sounds like we could be waiting a while until these two games arrive on Xbox, and the team has advised to wishlist them in the meantime to "support this project".
We'll let you know when there's a release date for Euro Truck Simulator 2 and American Truck Simulator 2 on Xbox.
"The road to consoles might be uncharted territory for us, but we’re ready to explore it! Whilst we’re not ready to share a specific release date yet, we look forward to reading your comments and reaction to this news, so be sure to let us know if you're excited about this upcoming release. We thank you for all your support over the years, and we look forward to the future of truckin' with you on console and PC!"
Update #1 []:
It's not just Euro Truck Simulator, as American Truck Simulator is coming to Xbox as well! That one's also listed for Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.

Original Story: Well, well, well! Out of nowhere, Euro Truck Simulator 2 has appeared on the Xbox Store today, listed with Xbox One, Series X and Series S as its official platforms, and there's no release date at the time of writing.
For those who don't know about it, Euro Truck Simulator 2 is one of the most popular sim games of all time, having a racked up an "Overwhelmingly Positive" rating on Steam based on over 670k user ratings over the past 10+ years. It's long been praised for its chill and immersive vibe, impressive attention to detail and excellent driving mechanics.
The game has always been PC-only, but has suddenly shown up for Xbox and PlayStation today:

As you can see, it says it's "not available separately" at the time of writing, and there's speculation that the Xbox and PlayStation versions are going to be announced at one of the Gamescom 2025 events taking place later this week.
We'll keep an eye out for the formal reveal over the next few days, which hopefully includes a release date for some point in 2025. In the meantime, you can check out more information about the game along with screenshots below.
Travel across Europe as king of the road, a trucker who delivers important cargo across impressive distances! With dozens of cities to explore from the UK, Belgium, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, and many more, your endurance, skill and speed will all be pushed to their limits. If you’ve got what it takes to be part of an elite trucking force, get behind the wheel and prove it!

Wow, didn't expect to read this today! Great news - fingers crossed for ATS too. 😀
@Eejay American Truck Simulator has an Xbox and PlayStation store page, too!
@FraserG Although Xbox One is listed as one of the platforms for the game, it says in the description that it's only coming to Xbox Series X/S.
@Questionable_Duck Woo-hoo!
These aren't really my cup of tea but happy for those that enjoy these sorts of games.
Yayyyy! Something I’ve hoped for, for a long time, especially ATS. Just wondering how the heaps of dlc will be handled, or how it will be received by those who have no idea how much there is.
@Kaloudz This and Death Stranding are basically the perfect games to play while listening to a podcast imo.
Also, in ETS2, you can actually listen to the real-life radio in-game, which is a nice bonus. Not sure if that feature will make it into the console ports, but hopefully it does.
Nice, both have excellent reviews on Steam
@Questionable_Duck Thanks. Hopefully we get more details soon.
@FraserG No problem!
I never gave these titles a second thought until this summer when I read some Steam reviews. Both were on sale along with the dlc. I got myself a force feedback wheel (used with Dirt Rally 2, Automobilista 2 also) and never looked back. It also plays perfectly with a controller once you customize the layout. I'm now hopelessly addicted but liken them to Power Wash simulator only a little more involved. They are very relaxing and cathartic games. If you have any experience driving in the US or Europe then that's a bonus as despite the scaled map, you'll recognize a lot of places, large and tiny. All in all, great news for console gamers.
@Questionable_Duck Listening to a live radio is actually really neat. Makes me wonder if we see that in GTA 6?
I assume they don't have to worry about licences and such? Am I wrong or do I remember way back on the OG Xbox, being able to play music in games straight from the HDD?
Wow, super excited. I did not expect this tbh.
@Kaloudz Yeah, you could listen to music discs and (I think) MP3s on the OG Xbox. Not sure if you could do that at the same time as playing a video game, though.
@Questionable_Duck I'm almost certain that you could (I think it was GTA) load up the music on a radio in a car and select your own tunes from the HDD. I could be wrong.
Does this mean they might finally fix their gawd awful game engine?
@Kaloudz nah you're right, I 'ripped' a few CDs onto the HDD. I played Rallisport Challenge 1+2 with Jungle Hits and Drum n Bass Arena!
@16BitHero I thought as much. Man, back then it was cool. Sure, it was a small feature, but cool nonetheless.
Probably late 2026 or 2027 then. Road Kings will be out next year so that should tide trucking fans over.
It's probably not for me. I don't think I could spend hour after hour driving on the wrong side of the road... 😂
@Fiendish-Beaver You mean, the right side of the road? 😉
Finally! Such cool games. Can't wait.
The developer SCS software is praised by community for their constant support of their games. So I’m excited for Xbox version.
Been playing this for years on PC. Have purchased all the official map extensions DLC for Ets2 and also use Promods further map extensions.
Won't be buying them again though. Wonder why it's taken the developer so long to make a console version and then why now? 🤔
