So, The Outer Worlds 2, huh? Following recent controversy surrounding the game's price (which has now died down thanks to a Microsoft U-turn), the team at Obsidian has landed at Gamescom 2025 with a fresh look at its upcoming RPG.

And, you know what, it's looking very The Outer Worlds. Since the team's big summer blowout right after the Xbox Games Showcase 2025, we've simply been ready to go hands-on with this one rather than see another trailer - but here we are, and we don't have to long to wait to actually play the game now anyway.

Here's a written description of the game's new Gamescom trailer:

"What good is being a commander if you don't have a crew? Meet the companions who will be joining you on your journey through the Arcadia colony as you look into what is happening with the rifts in space time that are somewhere between a moderate and immediate threat to the universe, or dealing with any of the factions who are vying for control of the colony. Or, you know, ignore the money that went into making this asset to teach you who they are, and go all lone wolf. The choice is yours."

As we mentioned up at the top, The Outer Worlds 2 is now releasing this October for $70, rather that the previously-planned $80 price tag. Either way, it'll launch day one on Xbox Game Pass, for those of us who subscribe to Microsoft's monthly subscription service.
