Whaaat??? Only 780GB? Amateurs... It should have been AT LEAST double that amount, and EA deserves all of it, with all of their annoying rehashes and so-called 'surprise' mechanics.
Well, EA, that's a VERY hard pass for me, then. I don't like multi-player online shooters, unless it's with friends, but not with spoiled brats who have FAR more time than me to play and hone their skills, making it next to impossible for me to even make a decent amount of kills in such MMO events.
And the price of the game also needs to be cut in half, then. Or at least needs to be reduced to two-thirds of the asking price of a full fps experience.
@Tasuki I think that you'll find it surprisingly enjoyable. I came across this game back in the Wii days, after having been thoroughly disappointed and slightly annoyed at Sonic Unleashed on the Xbox 360, and personally, I found that Colors was far more in spirit of the original Sonic games than many of the titles before it.
The last actually good Sonic game that I played before Colors, was Sonic Adventure on the Dreamcast...
Compared to all the dross released in between that game and Sonic Unleashed, Colors was like a breath of fresh air.
Of course, opinions differ, and there's no accounting for personal taste, but besides myself, I know of plenty of other people that played it and who at the very least gave it a positive review.
These might also help lay to rest any lingering doubts:
That last video is rather long but only the first part is about Colors, and better safe than sorry, right?
Yup, this is a very good choice for a remaster. Colors is definitely one of the best Sonic games of the last decade, so at least someone was paying attention over there.
Sony still not playing nice, huh? Probably more of their "we want to offer our players the best and safest possible environment" excuses crap. Bunch of losers. They're just WAY too suspicious and/or cautious about things like these, always in an almost fearful state of losing customers, would they completely open up the crossplay flood gates.
It actually accomplishes the exact opposite: less freedom for gamers with a PlayStation that would like to play with their friends on other systems/platforms, and the irony of it is that this would actually far sooner be a reason for gamers to jump ship than allowing crossplay...
Talk is cheap, Wilson, you f-ing moron. I still vividly remember his promises for an "unprecedented" partnership with Nintendo on the Wii U. Well, it was unprecedented, alright: in it's near complete absence of it...
You know what would be the greatest thing that could ever happen in the gaming industry? If Microsoft "swooped in" and took over EA, and subsequently fired Wilson's @ss. Yeah, I truly detest that guy. He's all about quick profits and literally ZERO percent about how to actually make games more enjoyable and user friendly...
(yeah, I know: that's never going to happen, but a man can dream)
And there, we will FINALLY be able to lay to rest (read: utterly crush) any lasting futile, straw grasping hopes of desperate Sony fans that any other games than the ones promised/already contracted will come to PS5.
It's going to be a fun fair of infinite exclusivity deals and I'm going to enjoy every single second of it....
@BAMozzy "the main difference is that I was pointing out why Phils comments are vague enough that anyone can interpret them to read into it what they want."
I know that's what you meant, and as you know, I'm of the opposite conviction. It's been proven multiple times over that just because people are not saying certain things, or according to... let's call them "overthinkers", are holding info back on purpose, that there isn't any supposed need or reason to dig for hidden truths or for reading between the lines.
If that were true, then EACH and EVERY title released by Bethesda from now on should/would/could fall victim to the same inane scrutinization because "of course", UNLESS Microsoft gives the raging fanboys a definitive statement that title X or Y is NOT coming to your platform of choice, then there's still always a chance, right?
I sincerely DO hope that you realize how ridiculous that sounds and is. Neither Phil Spencer nor Microsoft needs to promise, explain or prove that these titles will only be released on Xbox and/or GamePass, because normally, that also doesn't happen, so why should it be the case now? Just because it's a massive takeover and more IP's are involved?
The same could then basically said about any and all of their titles. Heck, maybe we'll even see Rare Replay on Nintendo Switch, because you know, Rare used to be from Nintendo, and they and Microsoft have become really buddy-buddy of late and they haven't confirmed or denied that it's NOT going to come, so there is a "real" chance, right?
Anyway, let's leave it here. Good discussion, but I think we've basically covered all points and we're starting to run in circles, if we haven't done so already...
@BAMozzy You know, the funny thing is that I think we basically agree for the most part, but as always, the devil is in the details, and you and me are just looking at those differently.
This funny image came to mind:
I'm the guy on the right, by the way...
As mentioned before, you see plenty of reasons to believe and/or to theorize about possibly still to be released titles for PS5, I see none, while both of us are basing our views upon the exact same information. To some extent, I find it equal amounts astounding and interesting how two people can come to such differing conclusions while looking at the same information.
And mind you, lack of information does not mean that there's proof of the opposite. In the case of video game development/publishing, it simply means they're keeping their cards close to their chest and that they want to release relevant info whenever they deem it to be the right time to do so, and not because "fans" want or need it, much less fantasize about what will more than likely never be...
For me, Phil not saying/confirming that there's NOT going to be any additional PS5 titles from Bethesda is not ample proof that there actually WILL be more titles for PS5, as you seem to think PS fans seem to have reason to believe. For me, that's circumstantial evidence, if even evidence at all. In a murder trial, the defense lawyer would make mince meat of that kind of "proof", which is also why I called it grasping at very thin straws earlier.
Anyway, thanks for elaborating, though. It at the very least made it more clear to me that it wasn't as much your personal belief but more your reasoning for thinking why certain Sony fans could still have room to believe that certain titles actually WILL come to the PS5.
Initially I thought that you also firmly believed that for yourself. My bad, partially, I guess, but that's what you sometimes get with having to interpret other people's comments, I suppose.
Time will tell, but my money's still on no extra stuff for Sony's forest of weeping willows, errr.... Sony's staunch fans.
@BAMozzy Well, I actually DID read your post, and no offense, but what I read was a LOT of baseless assumptions, or at least: based upon what you have NOT heard Phil Spencer or any Bethesda representative say, which basically is no evidence to support your theory at ALL.
However, had you read MY comment as intended, then you would have also noticed that I mentioned the following:
"that doesn't necessarily exclude as of yet unannounced titles, however, so you may actually have a point there."
The only difference is that I see these things the other way around. You seem to see it as possible that they will still be announced for PS5, with the added disclaimer that they ultimately might not be, whereas I see it as more than likely not to be the case, although I'm not completely discounting it, but I still see it as PS5 supporters/fans clutching at VERY thin straws.
We may not know the state of certain series and/or IPs, but as I've already mentioned before, considering the simply MASSIVE investment of 7.5 billion, they would be absolutely bat sh** crazy to still allow any of these as of yet unannounced titles and/or sequels to be on any other platform(s) than on Microsoft's. That just wouldn't make any sense whatsoever, business-wise.
So, far as we now know the ONLY titles still to be released for PS5 will be Deathloop and Ghostwire: Tokyo, and the Elder Scrolls Online will more than likely also still be supported, but other than that, there are no other confirmed or even rumored titles, so any theorizing about what may or may not come is nothing more than just that:
a theory...
@The_New_Butler True. For some, protecting/defending their brands of choice has basically become a way of life, which will, in more ways than one, affect both their social skills and outlook on life, seeing as it promotes/instigates both egotism and narrow-mindedness.
@redd214 Indeed. They probably think that Phil Spencer is some kind of philanthropist who can freely use Microsoft's cash reserves to express himself by handing out software to competitors...
No offense, but not really. There's probably only reason in the eyes and minds of platform-specific gamers that have a desperate need to cling to straws. Not saying that's you, mind you, but the statement you made is highly debatable nonetheless.
We all know that there's LITERALLY dozens of examples of game series that have ultimately jumped platforms, for a multitude of reasons (as an immediate example, Bayonetta 2 comes to mind), so there's no real need or reason at all to neatly wrap up a series on a competitor's platform, just for the sake of completing the series and/or pleasing the fans.
Games like Doom already having been on PlayStation long before there was even an Xbox is also no reason whatsoever. If anything, it actually WAS a Microsoft platform title to begin with, seeing as it was on PC first and foremost.
And besides, it's an industry, not a courtesy service, so if Microsoft invested THAT much money into it, they're most definitely not going to give the acquired platform exclusivity advantage away, only to please some sour fans of other platforms who are so close-minded that they only support one console and think they're entitled to having each and every title coming their way...
So, that is why I do indeed expect them to ONLY honor the releases of titles that are already in development and which have been signed by Sony and/or Nintendo. But: that doesn't necessarily exclude as of yet unannounced titles, however, so you may actually have a point there.
Well, I won't miss it, at ALL. I actually still have the game installed on my Xbox One S, but I honestly have no idea why.
I've tried the game out more than once, but even though I really like the premise and the overall style and aesthetics of the game, I truly, truly HATE the controls. In the heat of the moment I've often found myself jumping back to the exact same ledge that I just jumped off from, only to bump into those damn aliens/infected.
Suffice to say that the gameplay mechanics didn't click with me at all. And in all these frenetic moments, I only ended up getting more and more frustrated with it all. And seeing as I feel that games should be fun, entertaining and an ESCAPE from frustration, rather than an additional frustration, it soon became part of the archived games list that I never revisit again.
@Atreus97 Aha, just now read that article. Was playing catch up across three sites with a week's worth of article backlogs...
Either way, I'm big enough to admit that I stand corrected there. Having said that, though, neither option seems to be chiseled in stone yet. Even the article itself mentions it:
"this could mean it'll arrive on PlayStation 5 after the three-month window. Whether the plans have changed remains to be seen, but if things still stand, then by early 2022, the game could be hitting other platforms."
So, I guess we'll find out when the time comes, then.
@Atreus97 By no stretch of the imagination can "no plans for now" be interpreted as them saying "yep, it's actually only a timed exclusive and we're going to release it on PS5 in 3 months", so that actually IS stretching it.
If that were true, then conversely, the opposite could be said of the statement made by the developers, in which they said that they "saw several good opportunities for the brand" by partnering with Microsoft - such as Game Pass."
That must then surely mean that never in a million years is it going to be released on any other platform than Xbox...
Besides, the developers themselves also stated that the focus is solely on Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S. Emphasis on solely...
@InfamousOrange Well, that just depends on how you look at it, and you're clearly looking outside of the console realm, while this is obviously a statement made purely concerning consoles, so no matter which way you look at it, it's still a console exclusive.
And that is probably also the right label: console exclusive, which doesn't discount it being on PC.
And besides, it's the developers themselves who made this statement, so they apparently had the same thing in mind as me.
On a side note: perhaps we should simply use the label exclusive to Microsoft, that covers everything...
@Atreus97 So, you apparently read that article on PushSquare, huh?
The article here clearly states:
"For now, GSC Game World also says there are "no plans" to bring Stalker 2 to PlayStation 5, and the big reason is because the team "saw several good opportunities for the brand" by partnering with Microsoft - such as Game Pass."
So, I'd say that interpreting that as it only being a timed exclusive, is a bit of a stretch, to put it mildly.
Not saying it can't or won't happen, but that specific statement is not the evidence that supports it.
@gingataisen Well, gain traction, market share-wise. They're still far behind. Mind you, I'm no Sony fan, not even close, but those numbers ARE the facts that we're currently faced with, so regardless of how well they're doing with backwards compatibility and their GamePass efforts, Microsoft is still quite a ways off from getting where they need to be to beat the competition.
Unless of course, like Nintendo, they're perfectly comfortable being where they are right now, not looking to become the leading platform, but personally, I can't imagine that being the case. Guess we'll find out at some point in time.
P.S.
And yes, "we" are still doing this units sold nonsense. Well, at least: if by "we" you mean rabid Sony fans who are pointing towards these numbers to prove why their platform is king...
Some pretty decent numbers there. Still, with roughly 4 million consoles sold vs almost 8 million consoles sold by Sony, they'll still have to put some more effort into it.
@KonstantTrouble No offense, but that agenda was already always there in the first place, for all the previous decades that the Academy Awards existed. Problem is that it was the reverse agenda of the one we're now seeing, and it wasn't a correct depiction of actual society, much less one of diversity, and that is being addressed now.
They now need to over-extend their efforts, to ultimately achieve a nice, sensible middle ground. I also don't like pity parties and awards for the sake of choosing an actor or a movie that would otherwise possibly not have been chosen, but in general, the movies that were selected, were all worthy candidates, so I've no problem with it.
And besides: that's also what it should be about, the movies. Not who makes them or who stars in them, no matter which color or orientation. A good movie is a good movie regardless, and a lot of them being overlooked/omitted from previous editions of the awards can at the VERY least be called old-fashioned/archaic, but it's actually WAY more depressing than that...
Oh, and just in case you're thinking of bringing that up: I'm white as a lily...
It was, and still is, a greatly entertaining game, and very satisfying to play, especially if you're into the kind of brutal combat that the game offers.
I'd love to see a sequel, albeit sans the recycled enemies and sometimes annoyingly all over the place AI levels.
Update: and I STILL can't buy it with my EU account, because it leads me to a pop up window in which I need to enter/update my Microsoft account details, and apparently, the address and postcode I entered, which is obviously my own, isn't accepted by the UK site, and I'm not about to go through all the trouble of adding some kind of fake address to my account, just to get a cheap game.
Lousy, useless offer for people in mainland Europe...
Ah... the blades. I do still miss them and I wouldn't mind the option to have a blade-themed OS right now. Most of that is obviously nostalgia, because it was my first Xbox and all, but they were great times and everything was still so new and the jump to HD was significant, so there's that.
But, having said that, the blades just worked perfectly without all the clutter that we have nowadays, so they could definitely do worse than bring something similar back. Of course, I know that they won't, because it all needs to look more like Windows 10, also because of the shared games and all that, so I'll just remember the good times...
@FraserG I have a feeling that comment #3 is meant for you...
While the Ori games are great, this is just a choice of the second game in the series vs an entire history of Halo vs the best version of Forza Horizon so far.
Tough choice between the latter two, but seeing as I'm not much of an online fps star, I'm gonna go with Forza Horizon 4, even if for its infinite replay value alone, but also for its ENORMOUS range of content in cars, environments, additional DLC and so on and so on.
Having all of that in one single game is even more impressive than almost all of the Halo titles bundled together...
I can't help but wonder how much more powerful consoles must get before we'll only see reports of developers praising its ease to develop for instead of the odd criticism...
If an Xbox One is easy to develop for already, then the Series S should be a walk in the park. Let alone developing on the Series X, but no there's still "a lot of space for improvements in the future"...
A lot to improve. Not just some minor tweaks and fiddles, no a LOT. Maybe developers should stop working with custom engines, no matter how good or suitable these are for their games, and 'git gud' with the proper engines, such as Unreal Engine, which is fully scalable and can be used to produce the most wonderful results, even on relatively modest platforms.
@Dezzy I think that it's decidedly different with games. People might want to take pictures of unique achievements or moments, secret areas, maps, clues, kills, or simply just the environment or scenery if it's really beautiful or something like that.
Lord knows I've done plenty of fiddling around with the capture buttons on the Xbox One and on the Switch. Albeit with the latter mostly in Animal Crossing...
@S1ayeR74 True, I haven't, but it's also not like I said that I did. I just said that the mobile version might be different, as in more pay-wall oriented. Sure, there's also grinding going on in the Switch version, but looking at my own progress, I've found it to be only mildly annoying so far.
The only thing I actually dislike about it, is the extreme rubber-banding going on, especially in the shorter races, making it next to impossible to win them without tons of practice and pixel-perfect maneuvers. But then again: it's free to play, so I kinda feel that complaining about it too much is stupid, so I just don't and I keep trying...
@S1ayeR74 Well, I don't know how many times you've tried it on mobile, but the Switch version is actually pretty user-friendly, in-game purchase-wise. I've been able to get considerably far into the game without spending a single cent, so I think you either got the wrong impression from it, or the mobile version is different OR you simply haven't played it all that much.
Either way, you can easily play this without ever spending any money. All it means that in the later seasons/championships, there's more grinding involved. Far as I'm concerned, it's the best free to play racer available, and besides that one of the best free to play games in general, on par with Warframe, another great example of free to play games done right.
@Atreus97 Well, at least he seems to have read and/or understood that the article did not mention any "vague" promises from Microsoft themselves, but from a so-called industry insider, which is more than I can say from you...
I wonder what emoji or logo could look so ambiguous that it could be interpreted as either Ubisoft or Sega. I've never in my entire life seen any logo that could fit that bill, seeing as the Sega logo looks absolutely nothing like the Ubisoft logo.
Damn shame. This would be an insta-buy for me. My PC is bordering on becoming ancient, so that's just not an option for me, seeing as I don't have the funds to upgrade the PC, much less buy a new one, so having the option to buy just the game on Xbox would be the perfect solution for me.
They'd better tackle their atrocious backwards compatibility first, and start (re)offering those older generations of games, and do better and more advanced emulation, with similar features like on Xbox.
Other than that, they seriously need to work on their customer-friendliness, because at the current level, it sucks major balls...
@FragRed You're very welcome. Glad I could help a fellow gamer to acquire one of the best arcade racers around. Be sure to let me know your verdict once you've tried it out. And remember: go for full red bars...

Re: Stalker 2 Would Be 'Impossible' To Run On Xbox One, Says Dev
Re: Stalker 2 Would Be 'Impossible' To Run On Xbox One, Says Dev
Re: Stalker 2 Would Be 'Impossible' To Run On Xbox One, Says Dev
@InfamousOrange It's a console-exclusive, hence also the mention that it's not coming to PS5.
Nagging about it also coming to PC, supposedly not making it an exclusive seems a bit of an over-exaggeration to me...
Re: PlayStation Is Reportedly Surveying Fans About The Burnout Series
Some smart people with good taste in this thread: Split/Second, Blur, Burnout 3, all stellar titles which desperately NEED a true sequel.
But seeing as I'm a fan of all three, I'd also settle for a remaster...
Oh, and while we're at it, let's add FlatOut Ultimate Carnage to the list as well.
Re: Xbox Hardware Revenue Up 232% Thanks To 'Continued Demand' For Xbox Series X|S
Re: Gearshifters Brings Top-Down Vehicle Combat To Xbox This Year
This looks like right up my alley. I'm always in for a bit of arcade fun, and this sounds like just the ticket. I'll be keeping my eye on this one.
Re: Xbox Hardware Revenue Up 232% Thanks To 'Continued Demand' For Xbox Series X|S
Some pretty decent numbers there. Still, with roughly 4 million consoles sold vs almost 8 million consoles sold by Sony, they'll still have to put some more effort into it.
Re: Rumour: It Looks Like We Know When Elden Ring Is Getting Revealed
@TomKnows Exactly what @Jaxx420 said. Just people (ab)using a comment thread to ventilate their rather short-sighted opinions and views.
Re: Midnight Club: LA Surprisingly Returns To The Xbox Store
Luckily, I already have the physical version of the Complete Edition, so I guess I can skip this possibly "un-buyable" digital version...
Re: Rumour: It Looks Like We Know When Elden Ring Is Getting Revealed
Well, this comment thread has been fun to read... /s
Re: Respawn Becomes The First Ever Game Studio To Win An Oscar Award
Re: Xbox Fans Think Forza Horizon 5 Might Be Heading To Mexico
So, is there going to be some cartel-related DLC, then? With timed races/objective-based races across secret plantations and hideouts...
Re: Rumour: Could Ryse: Son Of Rome Seriously Be Getting A Sequel?
It was, and still is, a greatly entertaining game, and very satisfying to play, especially if you're into the kind of brutal combat that the game offers.
I'd love to see a sequel, albeit sans the recycled enemies and sometimes annoyingly all over the place AI levels.
Re: Capcom Arcade Stadium Is Bringing 32 Classic Games To Xbox This May
@OorWullie Here, let me help you with that:
Looks like a pretty decent game and would be a nice add-on to the collection.
On a side note: apparently, it's considered to be a lost game:
Re: Video: Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown Gets A New Cinematic Trailer
Cool game, extremely dumb name.
Re: WRC 9 Has Dropped To A Ridiculously Low Price On The UK Xbox Store
"Update: It's even cheaper now!"
Re: Random: This Original Xbox 360 Kiosk Disc Is A Blast From The Past
Ah...
Re: Pick One: If You Could Only Play One Of These, Which Would It Be?
While the Ori games are great, this is just a choice of the second game in the series vs an entire history of Halo vs the best version of Forza Horizon so far.
Tough choice between the latter two, but seeing as I'm not much of an online fps star, I'm gonna go with Forza Horizon 4, even if for its infinite replay value alone, but also for its ENORMOUS range of content in cars, environments, additional DLC and so on and so on.
Having all of that in one single game is even more impressive than almost all of the Halo titles bundled together...
Re: MotoGP 21 Dev Had 'No Troubles At All' Working With Xbox Series S
Re: Mass Effect Legendary Edition Is Getting A Lovely Photo Mode
@Dezzy I think that it's decidedly different with games. People might want to take pictures of unique achievements or moments, secret areas, maps, clues, kills, or simply just the environment or scenery if it's really beautiful or something like that.
Lord knows I've done plenty of fiddling around with the capture buttons on the Xbox One and on the Switch. Albeit with the latter mostly in Animal Crossing...
Re: Free Nintendo Switch Racer Asphalt 9: Legends Is Coming To Xbox
Re: Mass Effect Legendary Edition Is Getting A Lovely Photo Mode
Mass Effect Snap...
Re: Free Nintendo Switch Racer Asphalt 9: Legends Is Coming To Xbox
Re: Rumour: Xbox Looking To Publish AAA Game With 'An Ambitious Connected World'
@Atreus97 Well, at least he seems to have read and/or understood that the article did not mention any "vague" promises from Microsoft themselves, but from a so-called industry insider, which is more than I can say from you...
Re: Xbox France Has This Weird Microsoft Flight Simulator PC Up For Grabs
Here's hoping that it won't attract birds...
On a side note: Xbox has also had some pretty special editions, such as this Forza Limited Edition Xbox One:

Re: Rumour: Xbox Looking To Publish AAA Game With 'An Ambitious Connected World'
I wonder what emoji or logo could look so ambiguous that it could be interpreted as either Ubisoft or Sega. I've never in my entire life seen any logo that could fit that bill, seeing as the Sega logo looks absolutely nothing like the Ubisoft logo.
Re: Age Of Empires 4 Arrives This Fall On PC, Including Xbox Game Pass
Damn shame. This would be an insta-buy for me. My PC is bordering on becoming ancient, so that's just not an option for me, seeing as I don't have the funds to upgrade the PC, much less buy a new one, so having the option to buy just the game on Xbox would be the perfect solution for me.
Here's hoping that it'll be added later on.
Re: God Of War Creator Says Sony Will Have A Response To Xbox Game Pass
They'd better tackle their atrocious backwards compatibility first, and start (re)offering those older generations of games, and do better and more advanced emulation, with similar features like on Xbox.
Other than that, they seriously need to work on their customer-friendliness, because at the current level, it sucks major balls...
Re: Xbox Series X Seagate Expansion Card Drops To Lowest UK Price Yet
@blinx01 And you clearly don't understand sarcasm and the finer art of embellishment...
Re: Xbox Series X Seagate Expansion Card Drops To Lowest UK Price Yet
@StylesT @GateCrasherUK Ah, okay. Fair enough.
Re: Xbox Series X Seagate Expansion Card Drops To Lowest UK Price Yet
@GateCrasherUK If you don't mind me asking: what on Earth does your internet speed have to do with local storage options?
Re: Xbox Series X Seagate Expansion Card Drops To Lowest UK Price Yet
"However, UK retailer Currys has now dropped the price to its lowest figure yet"
And it's STILL £100 too expensive for what you get...
Re: Deals: All 30+ Classic Xbox Games In The Xbox Spring Sale 2021
@FragRed You're very welcome. Glad I could help a fellow gamer to acquire one of the best arcade racers around. Be sure to let me know your verdict once you've tried it out. And remember: go for full red bars...
