Yesterday, Xbox announced Dolby Vision for gaming on Xbox Series X and Series S, gifting applicable users the ability to enhance their games even further. Now, we have confirmation from Microsoft of which games support both Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos so far.
Despite the Xbox Wire post saying that over 100 titles are available now or coming soon, there's not a full list yet. However, Dolby has told Polygon that the list includes, or will include “nearly all of the native HDR titles available today that have been optimized for Xbox Series X|S such as Psychonauts 2, Gears 5, and Ori and the Will of the Wisps.”
So far, titles such as Psychonauts 2 and Gears 5 have been enhanced for Dolby Vision, with Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy joining later this month. Halo Infinite has also been confirmed as getting support "in the future".
Here's every game that supports Dolby Vision and Atmos so far according to Microsoft:
- Borderlands 3
- Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War
- Dirt 5
- F1 2021
- Gears 5
- Immortals Fenyx Rising
- Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy
- Metro Exodus
- Microsoft Flight Simulator
- Psychonauts 2
Anyone eligible for Dolby Vision will notice "incredible brightness, colour, contrast, and detail". You can easily check if your TV is compatible in the Xbox's settings, and it's as simple as ticking a box to enable it.
In regards to the future, a Dolby spokesperson told Polygon that “games are in development and we are accelerating our engagements with these studios to build out a strong library of future games that will release in Dolby Vision.”

More games support it but I don't now if it's in a native way or not.
I bought one of the Xbox partnered Samsung tv's the 55" Q80A, and it doesn't support Dolby Vision... but I get 4k @ 120 w HDR via hdmi 2.1. I love this new TV...
Am I really missing out without Dolby vision?
Made a slight change to this, folks - the ten games listed are said to support both Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos.
We don't know about the rest yet, but it's been suggested that only those 10 games have native Vision support so far 🤷♂️
I played Psychonauts 2 last night, and I can confirm it looks really good. I hope more games are added soon, because wow...
Played MSFS last night and it looked fantastic. I also played THPS1+2 and MK11 both of which flagged as Dolby Vision(where as Forza Horizon 4 does not) and they both looked better than with just HDR10.
Yeah, there are definitely more that support DV other than this list. Maybe it’s Auto HDR converting to DV in those cases and not “native” but I’ve had it pop up on quite a few games.
Sadly won't be using Dolby Vision until LG pushes out the update to my TV to allow 4K/120hz with DV. As is, DV is locked to 4K/60hz

I played Sable last night and it showed the Dolby Vision symbol.
I tried some games yesterday and they looked fantastic, sadly my tv is an older model and it introduced some input lag, I didn't find any setting for DV for gaming on my set so I ended up deactivating it.
Does the Dolby Atmos work the same way it does for blurays that support Atmos or do you still need that app installed to get Atmos?
@elpardo1984 I tried MSFS with Dolby Vision on Tuesday. It disabled HDR and washed out the image. I haven't tried it again yet. My question is this - as with HDR/Dolby Vision TV shows and films, does a Dolby Vision logo pop up in the corner of the screen for you when starting a compatible game? I have my TV set up to flash the HDR/Dolby Vision logo for all compatible media. I didn't see this when starting MSFS.
@FraserG Hey Fraser, I'm curious to know if any of you folks at Pure Xbox or any readers have had issues implementing Dolby Vision for Gaming on Series X. It didn't work for me until I found a Reddit thread which suggested turning off Auto Low Latency which isn't a great option for obvious reasons but it did then seem to allow Dolby Vision to function. I hope this can be addressed in some way by Microsoft or Dolby.
@TJ81 I've been too busy to give it a proper try this week unfortunately. I'm sure they'll continue to improve things over time.
@FraserG True and HDR 10 still looks great in the meantime. Cheers.
@TJ81 mine(LG CX) does show the DV/HDR logo. It worked with MSFS for me right away. Maybe needs a reboot after the update or quit out hte game and reload might be a quick resume thing.
@elpardo1984 It's working fine when I turn off Auto Low Latency which thankfully doesn't seem to impact the Latency for now.
I have been enjoying FH5 and GOTG DV support (on-screen display shows DV) but annoyingly, only at 4K60 on my x900h.
The games I’ve noticed DV support on was AC: Valhalla and Control
On my XSS, I have auto HDR disabled due to the lag it stacks onto my older games.
