Battlefield for me.... Again
Only COD il be enjoying is with chips
I never managed to enjoy BF and CoD is on a bad year. In a year we have Halo after a long while releasing with F2P MP and campaign on GP that is what I am playing this year.
Honestly I am interested in both. Vanguard due to the setting but the gameplay of Battlefield interestes me more. I probably will give both a try this year.
Halo Infinite.
Got 2042 preordered. After having my Activision account hacked and experiencing firsthand their terrible customer service thanks to the Cold War/Warzone server hack last year, I’ll never buy another Activision game. Saves me $70 a year now. Lol.
Both,
But i am mote hyped about battlefield.
Il play both........buy 1 rent the other
Halo! The battle royale mode is an instant turn for for me so Halo wins easily.
I play all the shooters, as does my son. So we will definitely be playing both.
I just knew the poll would see BF beat COD, and yet sales will show in COD's favour every time, it's the game that everyone hates but lots of people still buy.
Battlefield is 10 times better than Call Of Duty..
Neither, games like the Quake remaster have helped me rekindle my love of fps games that I lost due to games like these. I'm far happier playing the likes of Ion Fury whilst waiting for Turbo Overkill and the Powerslave Exhumed remake
This is the year Halo finally gives them both a kicking.
It would be battlefield bit I'm not buying it so i chose neither. Halo will likely be taking up my FPS time. If they add BF to gamepass I'll give it a go but until then it's not happening
Thanks for the "neither" option.
Battlefield.
But to be fair, I haven't been interested in CoD in years.
The last two COD games have been amazing thanks to Gunfite mode...now that that's butchered, the game has lost all of its appeal to me.
Plus, the thought of grinding for MONTHS to unlock all the weapons and attachments in COD and BF just to have some kind of even playing field is not something I'd want to do again, lol.
I’m interested in both but I’m only going to rent them, CoD for the campaign and I’ll buy BF 2042 when it’s half price. It’s Hell Let Loose that will be getting my money this year.
Interested in battlefield after not getting into any since BF4. Seems like they're trying to go for it for this next one.
COD looks like a complete miss.
Halo this year, and right around when I’m getting bored with Halo, BF should be hitting Gamepass via EA Play.
COD : campaign
BF : online
Battlefield looks better of the two but I probably won't buy either as Halo is more my kind of game
When I was a younger playing COD and WW2 /fight 'terrorist' games was probably when these games piqued for me. As an adult having lived in Europe & studied these things (also seeing very graphic videos & photos), reliving people's PTSD isn't really my cup of tea anymore. At least with Battlefield 2042 you can suspend some belief but with WW2, it was just such a sad brutal time for humanity that we glorify. Can't wait for the Halo Infinite drop tbh, COD just repeats all the time, at least Battlefield is innovating. Wish devs focused on better, new experiences outside of 4K murderporn lol. BUT I do get why people love these games, lots are newer players or old school fans & they are solid shooters. As a side note, absolutely love playing DOOM and some pretty gory scifi shooters. To each their own!
@John117 man I HAVE to have some tactics & squadplay in my shooters & just don't see the appeal of ONLY playing the BR mode. It fun on occasion, but really doesn't give you time to learn your opponents strategies and tactics. Like in SSBU online, they can take my first two stocks but I'll outgrind them to get their 3 just from prolonged fights. Have to have some flavor to it. BR reminds me of "horde mode", nice to throw into the mix but shallow if that's all it is
Voted neither, don’t fancy another ww2 campaign and I don’t really do online although I’m intrigued by what interesting new mechanics and modes Battlefield will introduce. I’m mostly looking at Halo for my campaign and may give the MP a go as well.
Battlefield, i stopped caring for COD when they expected me to use up most of my HD space for them.
Only play COD MW 2019, I hate the WW1 or 2 settings, so it’ll be BF for me. I do hate the fact COD forces it’s Warzone onto you with MW though.
Not really interested in either, tbh, which is why I'm hoping Halo: Infinite will be a return to form for the franchise, otherwise no FPS for me this year.
I think the results just show how little this site represents the majority opinion of gamers. COD will obviously wipe the floor sales wise with BF and Halo but will never be the favoured game on here. Unfortunately for me I'm not interested in either of these or Halo as I've already had my life times worth of these games unless they innovate massively which isn't really their aim.
Got to go with Battlefield here. As something of a lapsed Battlefield player (I haven't really invested in a Battlefield game since Bad Company 2) and someone who's not much of a multiplayer gamer, I'm keen to sink some serious hours into 2042. Arguably, Battlefield has always been the best online shooter around, because any player of any skill level can find a role for themselves and have fun, and DICE are really good at rewarding players for individual acts which ultimately help fellow teammates.
That said, I'm always excited to play a new COD campaign. Even if it's not your cup of tea, few can deny COD is always a highly polished and exceptionally well-produced blast-fest. Even though I've enjoyed some CODs more than others, I've always had fun playing them.
Neither, and I used to be a big fan of both. COD Vanguard looks terrible and they made tons of awful decisions with it. The new Battlefield is looking better, but I still have no interest in it because of how badly they have messed up Battlefield games.
Neither!
But if I had to choose it would be COD as it has a campaign.
I'll no doubt get to that in due course, many years after the fact.
Whatever is on GamePass is always going to be a priority of my interests. As mentioned, with that being Halo this year - I'd say neither.
I usually pre-order every rendition of both Call of Duty and Battlefield, and have done since they both started. However, as I only ever play the campaign, I didn't buy the last CoD, and I won't be buying the upcoming Battlefield. I enjoy the challenge of going through the campaigns on the hardest difficulties, but totally get that these games are popularised for their online components, and that there are huge costs involved in creating a campaign. It's a shame that I won't be enjoying Battlefield this year, but can only hope that both franchises continue to make single-player content in the future. If not, then I'll find something else to play...
Battlefield destroys COD and for years now IMO!! Especially online! I Can’t wait!!
The comments of others put me off playing these games multiplayer too, @Clankylad. And for me it is Horde only these days, and like you it is with friends only. There was a time when I got really high up in the Halo multiplayer, but eventually the comments wore me down and I stopped playing. What used to infuriate me was the comments I used to get when I accidentally killed one of my own team after they would run into a room full of enemies into which I had just thrown a grenade. They weren't there when I threw it, but died because they entered the room after it had been thrown. Stuff like that happened to me a few times, and the abuse that followed was enough to stop me playing...
Battlefield for me, always love the multiplayer, however COD campaigns are always a guilty pleasure of mine.
