Rockstar Games has dropped a new Grand Theft Auto V trailer, which is looking strikingly similar to the previous versions of it. Along with the new footage, the trailer also reveals it will no longer be launching this November and instead will be dropping in March 2022.
The trailer promised improved graphics, enhanced gameplay and more, but failed to really show any of it in all honesty. It doesn't look massively different to the Xbox One version and doesn't appear to be running at 60fps. Of course, this could all change up until launch, which is now next year, but considering this is intended to market the game, we came away feeling very lukewarm on it all.
The only information we have on the title is this new blurb accompanying the trailer:
Grand Theft Auto V and Grand Theft Auto Online will now arrive on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S March 2022, featuring a range of technical and graphical improvements across the entire experience including performance enhancements for select vehicles in GTA Online, and so much more.
The comments on the video haven't been too kind, many disappointed at the lack of new gameplay or details on the enhancements. We'll give Rockstar the benefit of the doubt and hope they're keeping their cards close to their chest, if not then the Xbox Series X|S release isn't promising.
Will you be picking up Grand Theft Auto V next year? Drop us in the comments below.

Definitely not rewarding them with more money. Honestly haven’t played GTA V in years and no desire to jump back in. This is a weak cash grab.
At this point GTA V is just a waste of hard drive space
I've always noticed when walking next to buildings within a certain distance you'll see a square of better detail on the building while everything around that square will be slightly less detail. Maybe this version fixes that lol. No 60fps no buy (or no buy if Series S is locked at 30).
I’m assuming it will be full retail price, if so hard pass for me. I’m not expecting a Smart Delivery upgrade either, so looks like the only way I’ll be playing this is if there is a paid upgrade from the Xbox One version, but even then I doubt I’d pay.
I may get this if I have a Series X in the relatively near future, only because I don't have it.
I’ve started it twice, and stopped relatively early in. First on PS3 and got frustrated with the slow load time and then bought it for Series X as it was about £5 on sale and stopped when I heard there was a next gen upgrade. I may carry on if it’s free/small upgrade but that video didn’t look good.
Rockstar basically dialed up the game settings (coming closer to the settings that can be enabled on higher-end PC). Hooray?
R*: mods. We got mods...
..for consoles..mods
Poor management.
Microsoft should purchase them already.
Back on the PS2 days I would never believe if anyone told me that the day will come when the new GTA announcement is boring.
I bet they havnt improved the clunky movement and combat either, feels a bit outdated now.
If they have a reasonable upgrade path from last gen (or a free upgrade) I may consider it. But definitely not shelling out anything like full, or half, price for it.
Yawn. Rockstar are becoming a one trick pony, and the trick is 8 years old now!
Move on!
Agree with all the above. Played it to death when it first came out and have zero interest in playing it again.
Wake me up when there is sonething new
Such a shame how quickly Rockstar have fallen
@Bobbycuckoo Nailed it! I have no idea how R* get away with it. They make some of the best worlds and characters in all of gaming but their movement and combat systems are archaic.
@Clankylad Me too. At launch on the 360 and digitally on the One. Fell off it pretty early on twice. I don't get the hype for this game. It's clunky AF. 🤷🏻♂️
Good game, i played it on pc.
The graphics on my 8 year old pc are much better than the powerful series x !
With the money this game pulls in (it had a revenue of $1,000,000,000 in 2020 alone!) this should be a free upgrade. It'd likely make good financial sense as drawing in new or returning players means more of that sweet GTA Online cash.
