Re: Video: 343 Industries Gives Us A First Glimpse Of Halo Infinite's Multiplayer

@Richnj I know both NA and EU have fairly active grassroots competitive scenes because I follow a few of the players. 343 did mess of the launch of halo 5 no argument here and if you left after the first month or so I can see why you have a sour taste about the multiplayer side of the game. But 343 used the micro transactions to give free updates to keep the base game a level playing field for all players and those updates also greatly fleshed out the multiplayer modes for all players for free. To me that is worth having the micro transactions because after that first year or so of updates the game had so much breadth and depth just in its multiplayer.

I will also entirely concede halo 5 is too sweaty for causal and a part of that is due to Spartan abilities, but I cannot agree that spartan abilities take away from map control and teamwork. If anything the advanced movements reinforce both map control and teamwork and harshly punish players that do not have a good understanding of it at mid to high rank. That is why I think the game is too sweaty for casuals, there is so much they need to be aware of and the timing of how to rotate around the map that it can be an unforgiving learning curve.

The competitive scene was jump started by 343 but their support ended in 2018 but you still have really high level players still competing in tournament regular into this year.

@Richnj idk if I would say halo 5 multiplayer went downhill. While I will admit the gameplay in H5 was not fully classic halo it was a return to even starts, revitalized the competitive scene and keep halo afloat for 6yrs. I think from a multiplayer perspective 343 learned a lot of lessons with H5 that I expect to be carried into infinite. People forget but halo 4 killed competitive halo so for 343 to be able to bring it back and keep a competitive community this long since the launch of H5 speaks volumes to the lessons they learned and could apply. I expect that to be carried into infinite but we will have to wait for a playable beta to really start to be sure about how infinite is gonna be.

Re: Got An Xbox Controller With Drift Issues? Lawyers Are Reportedly Interested In Buying Them

PuppyToucher

I have an elite with stick drift and some days are worse than others but usually if I am actively moving the stick it doesn’t effect gameplay too much. My switch joy con stick drift is definitely worse but even then after calibrating the controller I can usually get it to be playable, just annoying. I may have a high tolerance for this kind of thing though but since I spent the money on the controllers I am gonna use them until the buttons start falling off.

Re: Here Are The Full Patch Notes For Halo: MCC's Season 6 Update

PuppyToucher

Quick question about mcc. So ever since getting my series x in March when I play the campaign (only played reach and CE so far) the game kinda stutters and sometimes it is so bad the game is basically unplayable. Did not have this issue on the launch Xbox one. Is anyone else having this issue and is there any known fix?

Re: Xbox Exclusive Quantum Break Celebrates Its Fifth Anniversary

This game was a lot of fun and the power ups were pretty cool. Wish there was more enemy variety or some environmental puzzles. I thought the tv show after each chapter did a great job breaking up the action and really letting the players see the story from other points of views. Wish more games went this route. I know the story isn’t for everyone but I thought it was an interesting enough story

Re: Xbox Series Pre-Orders Boast 'Record-Breaking Demand', More Stock To Arrive At Launch

PuppyToucher

@FraserG I just got an email from citizen one, the company that handles the financing for Xbox all access, and they said congratulations on my purchase of Xbox all access.

I had tried to get my preorder of the Xbox series x and also the series s through GameStop, but the website kept crashing and when it refreshed itself it said my cart was empty. I tried both just in case the other was sold out but could not get either to work.

Do you think the preorder actually went through or if I’m still in some kind of holding? When I went to confirm my citizen one account I checked my purchase history and it was empty. I can send you screenshots if needed, but curious if you have heard anything about this or seen similar reports.

Re: Phil Spencer: We're Committed To Bringing Xbox Game Pass To Apple Phones

PuppyToucher

I’m just happy Phil is willing to continue fighting for it rather than just giving up. Love using Apple phone/watch but I’m willing to switch to a Samsung note if it means I can take my games with me all the time. I’ll wait a bit longer as I have a switch and still don’t think cloud gaming is quite there yet, but Apple needs to make a deal soon.

Re: Guide: Everything You Need To Know About Xbox Series Pre-Orders

PuppyToucher

@BlueOcean I think I’m gonna go series s and just use it as a gamepass box and hope all games on gamepass are optimized to run wel on the series s. I’ll eventually get a ps5 so if down the line the series s just cannot hang with the latest and greatest titles being released, I’ll still have another system to play them on. But since I’m getting both Xbox and PlayStation I figured I should go the cheaper model of each.

Re: Talking Point: What Will You Play First On Your New Xbox Series S/X?

PuppyToucher

As lame as it sounds I’ll probably only play destiny 2 out of the listed games. Will definitely play some halo 5 as well, but it isn’t one of the listed games. Other last gen games will get played too but halo 5 is the only game I really keep coming back to. The faster load times in destiny will be a huge and noticeable improvement that I’m looking forward to having. Hopefully I’ll actually be able to switch weapons during a crucible match without having to risk death due to menu loading times.
