This weekend I'm gonna be playing Final Fantasy VI, Freedom Wars Remastered and possibly GTA San Andreas(first proper playthrough) on Switch and on Xbox I will play the Marvel vs. Capcom collection as a way to re-introduce myself to fighting games for real aswell as maybe some more Hollow Knight.
Tomorrow I got friends coming over for a birthday celebration so I guess we will primarily play Smash Bros. Ultimate and other 4-player games.
That's kinda all since I don't really feel like trying to beat the nightmare that is Trokka in The First Berserker.
This weekend I will continue playing The First Berserker: Khazan(basically made it past Maluca the other day), Final Fantasy VI(goes pretty slow though), my second playthrough of Space Marine 2, probably Clair Obscur or DOOM: The Dark Ages and also gonna play more The Precinct.
But naturally, my plans could end up falling apart and I might end up playing something completely different all weekend. 😅
Hmm...
This weekend I will primarily continue playing Final Fantasy VI on Switch(my first ever playthrough), The Precinct, DOOM Eternal and possibly Clair Obscur on Xbox, and on PS5 I will mostly play Dragon Ball Sparking! ZERO but should probably continue playing The First Berserker: Khazan too.
I wouldn't pay that much for any game on any system but the sad truth is that there are some games where I am "forced" to do so when I really want to play something.
Lately, I've started waiting for them to go on deep sale though, even in the cases where one such overpriced game is on Game Pass.
Sad to see Cassette Beasts go.
Definitely one of the best indie games in recent years.
I'm at the same time happy that I managed to play through Remnant II twice before now, not because it's a particularly good game(it's honestly a pretty bad game with a bunch of really awful bosses) but more because I had the chance to play it with friends and I guess that made the experience bearable.
This weekend I'll be playing The Precinct, DOOM: The Dark Ages(actually scratch that, I'm gonna replay Eternal instead, much better game), Dragon Ball Sparking! ZERO, possibly some Clair Obscur and maybe I'll finally get back to The First Berserker: Khazan in order to make progress.
Oh and Balatro on the side as usual.
@FarmDog08 Oh that's not what I referred to, I have no issue with the active defense mechanic. I'm more talking about how most fights so far are over in just a minute or so due to the absurd damage my attacks and skills do. Like, I guess I would have preferred if my own damage output wasn't as high as it is.
This weekend I'm probably going to continue playing Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 which finally arrived in the mail a few days ago(I'm just past what I assume is the tutorial dungeon), feels good so far even if it's a little too easy in general, hopefully the game actually gets harder and less flashy the further in I get.
I will also continue playing Far Cry 4, Crysis 2 Remastered(my third playthrough), Balatro and probably something else.
This weekend I'm continuing my playthroughs of Mafia III and The First Berserker: Khazan alongside Dragonball Sparking! ZERO and Balatro. Probably gonna play more Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered too. I may also test Oblivion Remastered to see just how badly it has aged. I want to play Clair Obscur too and it is downloaded but I think I'll have to wait with that one until I finish some other turn-based RPG's I have in my to do list.
@jesse_dylan I apologize. It seems I was looking at what the Deluxe Edition costs, I see now that just the standard game costs 599 kr(pretty much $63) which is a bit more acceptable. Thank you for helping me realize my mistake. 😅
The saddest part about this, for me, is that I legit thought the remaster or whatever this is was super-cheap, until I realized I was looking at the wrong thing.
Like, I would have bought this game if it had actually cost $10.
But seeing it go for what a fully priced game usually costs these days made me instanope on that idea.
This weekend I will mainly continue chipping away at The First Berserker: Khazan, one boss at a time and man...I love this game. Levels themselves are not the most special but the real meat of the game is the Sekiro and Lies of P-inspired deflect heavy combat system and the boss fights which, so far, have all been very challenging and very fun to slowly learn the patterns for.
In addition to that, I also plan to continue playing Balatro during downtime and maybe I can also start Promise Mascot Agency.
This weekend I'm gonna play The First Berserker: Khazan on PS5, Balatro during down-time(Xbox or Switch), and probably South of Midnight(Xbox, obviously).
Will probably also continue my replay of God Eater 3 on Switch
I am personally very un-interested in this.
I was never a big fan of the original game to begin with and in the...checks notes...just over 20 years since its release, I've just moved on from it.
The memes it has spawned over the years are nice though.
@Fiendish-Beaver Not all X360 games are playable on Series X/S, sadly. Out of 2,155 games that were released for Xbox 360, there are "only" 632 games that are. Wolfenstein from 2009 is not among them. And out of those 632 games, some are only playable if you have the disc version, primarily ones that never got digital versions, examples include Batman: Arkham Origins and F.E.A.R.
@Fiendish-Beaver
Well, truth be told, I currently don't really have any game I am super-focused on so I just play shorter sessions here and there until I find something that clicks with my mood.
That, plus two of the games are literally ones I play when I want to turn off my brain and relax(Balatro and Guilty Gear) so I do not count them as games I need to concentrate on but that's just how my brain functions. 😅
As for Khazan?
I'd say it's basically a much better take on Nioh's general formula but with bigger emphasis on Sekiro-style deflects and with a much better combat system than the one in Nioh, it just takes some getting used to it's particular rhythm.
Of the two bosses I've defeated so far, both have been challenging but fun as hell to learn the patterns for.
But it's still too early for me to form any substantial opinions on the game other than that I like it a lot.
This weekend I'm gonna be playing Atelier Yumia, Guilty Gear Strive and Balatro on Series X, The First Berserker: Khazan on PS5 and on Switch I'll most likely play Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet.
Hmm...guess I will be continuing to fight my way through the endgame in Granblue Fantasy: Relink this weekend. My nights will most likely be spent with Balatro on Switch. I also think that I will continue to play either Star Wars Jedi: Survivor or Tales of Graces f Remastered, not sure yet.
@Kaloudz That was me desperately trying to take the platinum trophy out of spite so I would not leave things unfinished but the game broke me and I just walked away from it.
I played through Legion at launch and that's 98 hours of my life that I fully regret.
Let's be honest, first game was ok but a overall kinda messy, second game was(and still is) a masterpiece(in my opinion, I love Watch Dogs 2 so much that I took the platinum trophy twice) but Legion? Legion is one of the worst open-world games I've ever played. I had more issues with Legion than I ever had with Cyberpunk 2077 on launch. On top of technical issues that only got worse the more it got patched, Legion was just not a fun game and its central gimmick got tiresome in the first few hours of playing. The "Play as any NPC" gimmick is a cool concept but the execution was very under-cooked with characters that sounded like none of the few voice actors had gotten the same script to read and then it all got thrown into a mixer and then got randomized whenever anyone had a thing to say.
Story-wise, it was pretty bland. When I call what the twist is, 5 minutes into the game, it probably is not a good twist.
Conclusion: Legion is a travesty and I feel bad for anyone who will try it.
Ah, Wo Long...definitely one of Team Ninja's worst games. Like, when even Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin is a way better game, you know you messed up.
Actually was looking forward to WoLong, tried the demo and was left scratching my head. Just so many weird and undercooked mechanics in that one.
Also such a weird design-choice to have the first boss of the game be both a highlight and misplaced. Like, based on demo, it felt like boss quality only went downhill after the first boss. And that's even when taking into consideration that they basically gave that boss a "press these buttons to skip the fight" prompt midway through.
This weekend I'm most likely going to continue to play Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & the Secret Hideout/Tales of Graces f Remastered, One Piece: Pirate Warriors 3 and Balatro.
This weekend I'll mainly continue playing through Tales of Graces f Remastered on PS5, Ninja Gaiden II on Xbox(and possibly Far Cry Instincts: Predator) and Fantasian: Neo Dimension on Switch.
Will probably play other games here and there aswell.
This weekend I'll continue playing Tales of Graces f Remastered and Black Myth: Wukong on PS5, Ninja Gaiden II on Series X and on Switch I'll continue to make my way through Cassette Beasts mixed with Balatro.
I am of the stance that console exclusives are only bad and have had this stance for years now. I see the news about Horizon 5 and I'm happy that the days of console exclusives are behind us.
Now if only Sony(and Nintendo) would return the favor and start releasing their exclusives on Xbox(and on PC, in the case of Nintendo), I'd be very happy because it means more people get access to everything, wherever they may play games.
@Lup
Thanks for seeing where I'm coming from and also, I do apologize if my comments come across as ***** 😅, most of what I recounted here was based on hearsay and old comparisons that I honestly struggle to fully remember.
Also yes, the multiple versions and re-releases does make it hard to fully keep track of what's what.
@Lup
I never called it a Sigma remake.
I said that this remaster is based on Sigma, given fewer enemy count, save points seemingly being based on Sigma and other such things.
They have clearly re-added stuff from the 2008 original but considering that one statement from a few years from Koei Tecmo how they had lost the code for the original game, it feels logical to assume that they took Sigma as a base for this new remaster but then re-added in being able to upgrade weapons freely(if able), re-added gore and other such minor things.
@Lup I just recall not liking Sigma at all because of all the changes made for the worse. Missing out on some bosses here and there doesn't matter for me. 🤷♂️
I actually stopped playing this after realizing it's just based on the Sigma version of the game. I'll just continue playing the original version of the game since that still seems to be the superior version.
This weekend I'll be playing Tales of Graces f Remastered and Granblue Fantasy Relink on PS5(maybe some Black Myth: Wukong too, gotta get past that one boss in the Pagoda Realm), Ninja Gaiden 2 Black on Xbox and on Switch I'll continue playing Cassette Beasts and Balatro, maybe I'll read some more Citizen Sleeper, on Switch, aswell.
This weekend I'm continuing Black Myth: Wukong(just got past the Tiger Vanguard boss yesterday after having been stuck on it for a few days, great game so far, getting Sekiro-vibes from the level of challenge on display) and on Switch I'll bounce between Cassette Beasts and...Balatro actually.

My plans?
Same as always, read news articles after the thing is over to catch up on what was shown.
I avoid these types of showcases like the plague.
Re: Talking Point: Will You Be Buying The 2025 Xbox Handheld From ASUS?
I have no real interest in whatever this might be and for handheld gaming I already have a Switch anyway so that's big nope from me.

Oh and Balatro on the side as usual.
Re: Xbox Is Adding Three New Ways To Personalise Your Console's Home Screen
Would be cool to be able to hide ads on the dashboard completely.

My favorite games released this year are as follows, in order:
Tales of Graces f Remastered
The First Berserker: Khazan
Atelier Yumia: The Alchemist of Memories & The Envisioned Land
AI Limit
Haven't really bought or played many other games released this year yet.

This weekend I will hopefully finish Astro Bot.
Think I only have like one world left or something.
Re: Talking Point: Would You Be Disappointed If A 'Gears Collection' Didn't Include Multiplayer?
As long as it still has split-screen co-op campaign and horde mode, I'm perfectly fine with PvP getting yeeted out the window.

Re: Poll: Are You Buying The 'Early Access' Upgrade For Avowed?
I'll probably just wait till it's on deep discount given its absurdly high price at launch.
It also only being a digital release simply strengthens that resolve even more.
But on the other hand, if it's going to be on Game Pass I may aswell try it out.

Re: Poll: How Would You Grade 2025's Xbox Developer Direct?

Nothing else matters to me(wait, was there even anything else that was shown? I didn't actually watch the thing).
