@Lanmanna I agree that having to pay to play online is pretty dumb but it's not like I have a choice in the matter if I want to be able to play with my friends and family. But like I also said, online is the only reason that I, personally, use the service and in that regard, I get what I pay for. Like, if there was a tier that gave access to online multiplayer and nothing else, I would have jumped to that, no question.
The fact that I can also subscribe to Core for 3 months for less than what 1 month of Ultimate costs is also a huge plus for me.
This weekend, I'm going to focus on Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince, Hollow Knight: Silksong(great game but a bit on the easy side so far), Balatro and possibly either Baldur's Gate III or Dead Space 3.
Oh and as always, the Smash Bros. hangout with my crew.
This weekend I'll mainly be playing Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince, Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot and Balatro, all three on Switch. I will also try to find the time to finally start playing Super Robot Wars Y, also on Switch. Other than that, I guess the usual Smash Bros. Ultimate hangout with friends is on the cards. Happy gaming, everyone.
This weekend I'm mainly going to play Balatro, Salt and Sanctuary and Daemon X Machina alongside the usual Super Smash Bros. Ultimate gathering with my friends. Might also play some Baldur's Gate III in crossplay if the rest of my party is up for it. I will probably not play Gears of War: Reloaded this weekend since I will probably be playing it exclusively in split-screen with a friend. Might continue my co-op playthrough of Dead Space 3 tho.
Twice, once back on 360, like maybe 15-16 years ago and then I played through the remaster three years ago, both times solo. Good game, looking forward to playing through the remake.
I heavily disagree with Microsoft already wrapping up this gen. You'd think that with the pandemic hitting at the start of the gen and all the ***** related to that mess, they would have at least decided to extend the lifespan of Series X by a few more years. Also, I personally see no real reason to go further beyond the tech in the PS5 and Series X. I'd much rather see them focusing on actually releasing games instead of going "Look how powerful this thing is!" and at the same time closing studios left and right.
I probably will not buy Microsoft's next proper home console given that I am satisfied with my Series X and I don't really want to pay even more for a new Xbox than I paid for that one.
This weekend I'll mostly be playing Balatro, Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound and I will most likely continue with the remaster of Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete aswell.
For this weekend I'm going to focus on Lunar Remastered Collection, Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound and probably the Switch version of Company of Heroes. As always, I'll play Super Smash Bros. Ultimate with my friends and also Balatro.
Pretty good game but they really need to patch the AI behavior because currently the suspects can simply ignore reacting to getting shot aswell as being able to see, react to the player and one-shotting the player seemingly whenever they want, regardless of equipped weapon and regardless of distance. It was a real pain to deal with in both the mid-to late game missions, and in the two post-game missions, during the playthrough I did with a friend.
@Fiendish-Beaver I'm in the same boat as you but probably for a different reason, namely that I no longer am subscribed to Ultimate. 😅 So I voted for Ascent too, because it's such a good game.
This weekend I'm going to continue to play the remaster of Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete aswell as to sink more time into Risk of Rain Returns and probably play more Super Smash Bros. Ultimate with my friends.
Out of the games on that list I have to pick Ninja Gaiden 4 because it's the only one that won't cost more than 700 kr(that's around $70) here in Sweden but I will play it on PS5 due to Xbox not getting a physical copy for it.
The games this fall I'm the most excited to play on Xbox though are Daemon X Machina: Titanic Scion and Digimon Story: Time Stranger.
Nah, I would not play a remake of Black Flag simply because I'd rather stay away from anything related to that specific game. That and modern-day Ubisoft kinda fails more than they succeed in my opinion, even if there are a few exceptions here and there that prove modern Ubisoft games can be good, like Frontiers of Pandora and Outlaws.
This weekend, I'm gonna try to get back to playing games after having had an extended period of being too busy to commit to anything. So...I'm probably gonna play Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP or Sonic Adventure 2(the X360 version) on Xbox, Raidou Remastered on PS5 and then make a real effort to play through FFVI on Switch.
This weekend I will mainly be playing Raidou Remastered, probably some Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics and then more Final Fantasy VI. I have also started a replay of Code Vein.
@themightyant
Really good points and I do agree with them.
Like...take me for example, I first bought an Xbox One S in late 2019 and didn't upgrade to a Series X until mid 2022 so I very much share your sentiment about not needing to upgrade day one.
Similarly, I bought a PS4 in late 2014, upgraded to a PS4 Pro in early 2019 and then didn't upgrade to a PS5 until mid 2023.
@themightyant Yeah, you have a point regarding holidays 2027 being a ways off. But it would still be welcome if the powers that be choose to stay in the current gen just a bit longer, for once.
It would honestly be pretty nice if this generation kept going until 2030, mainly because those first few years of the current one were plagued by the pandemic and the after-effects of that. But also because I no longer see the point with more advanced consoles than what we have now and because the prices of any new consoles at this point will be way too expensive. I dunno...maybe I'm just getting old. xD
This weekend I''ll be playing Freedom Wars Remastered and Final Fantasy VI on the Switch, then on Xbox I'll be continuing with Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection, Space Marine Master Crafted Edition and possibly South of Midnight.
Feels like they've been saying this for two years now and I'm still waiting to be truly amazed by their showcases. Like, most of the games they release these days are good but in terms of what they charge for most games, they could be better and more affordable.
This weekend I'm gonna be playing Final Fantasy VI, Freedom Wars Remastered and possibly GTA San Andreas(first proper playthrough) on Switch and on Xbox I will play the Marvel vs. Capcom collection as a way to re-introduce myself to fighting games for real aswell as maybe some more Hollow Knight.
Tomorrow I got friends coming over for a birthday celebration so I guess we will primarily play Smash Bros. Ultimate and other 4-player games.
That's kinda all since I don't really feel like trying to beat the nightmare that is Trokka in The First Berserker.
This weekend I will continue playing The First Berserker: Khazan(basically made it past Maluca the other day), Final Fantasy VI(goes pretty slow though), my second playthrough of Space Marine 2, probably Clair Obscur or DOOM: The Dark Ages and also gonna play more The Precinct.
But naturally, my plans could end up falling apart and I might end up playing something completely different all weekend. 😅
Hmm...
This weekend I will primarily continue playing Final Fantasy VI on Switch(my first ever playthrough), The Precinct, DOOM Eternal and possibly Clair Obscur on Xbox, and on PS5 I will mostly play Dragon Ball Sparking! ZERO but should probably continue playing The First Berserker: Khazan too.
I wouldn't pay that much for any game on any system but the sad truth is that there are some games where I am "forced" to do so when I really want to play something.
Lately, I've started waiting for them to go on deep sale though, even in the cases where one such overpriced game is on Game Pass.
Sad to see Cassette Beasts go.
Definitely one of the best indie games in recent years.
I'm at the same time happy that I managed to play through Remnant II twice before now, not because it's a particularly good game(it's honestly a pretty bad game with a bunch of really awful bosses) but more because I had the chance to play it with friends and I guess that made the experience bearable.
This weekend I'll be playing The Precinct, DOOM: The Dark Ages(actually scratch that, I'm gonna replay Eternal instead, much better game), Dragon Ball Sparking! ZERO, possibly some Clair Obscur and maybe I'll finally get back to The First Berserker: Khazan in order to make progress.
Oh and Balatro on the side as usual.
@FarmDog08 Oh that's not what I referred to, I have no issue with the active defense mechanic. I'm more talking about how most fights so far are over in just a minute or so due to the absurd damage my attacks and skills do. Like, I guess I would have preferred if my own damage output wasn't as high as it is.
This weekend I'm probably going to continue playing Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 which finally arrived in the mail a few days ago(I'm just past what I assume is the tutorial dungeon), feels good so far even if it's a little too easy in general, hopefully the game actually gets harder and less flashy the further in I get.
I will also continue playing Far Cry 4, Crysis 2 Remastered(my third playthrough), Balatro and probably something else.
This weekend I'm continuing my playthroughs of Mafia III and The First Berserker: Khazan alongside Dragonball Sparking! ZERO and Balatro. Probably gonna play more Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered too. I may also test Oblivion Remastered to see just how badly it has aged. I want to play Clair Obscur too and it is downloaded but I think I'll have to wait with that one until I finish some other turn-based RPG's I have in my to do list.

I'll stick with Core.
I made the jump from Ultimate to that tier back in July and haven't regretted it since.
The only reason I even need the service is for online multiplayer and I already buy any game I want to play so it's a perfect tier for me.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (September 27-28)
This weekend I'm basically just gonna play Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle, Door Kickers: Action Squad and probably Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound.

Ah.
No worries, I simply got confused 😅
Re: Xbox Game Pass Helps Dead Island 2 To Huge Player Milestone As Dev Teases Sequel
@HeavyHoggJP
What?
This game doesn't even have any kind of split-screen to begin with.
Re: Xbox Game Pass Helps Dead Island 2 To Huge Player Milestone As Dev Teases Sequel
Crossplay when?

My plans?
Same as always, read news articles after the thing is over to catch up on what was shown.
I avoid these types of showcases like the plague.
Re: Talking Point: Will You Be Buying The 2025 Xbox Handheld From ASUS?
