by Update []: Remember this from last year's Xbox Games Showcase? Well, The Blood of Dawnwalker now has an official release date of September 3rd, 2026 for Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S (along with other non-Xbox platforms), as well as a new Story Trailer that you can watch in the video above.
Pre-orders are also now available for The Blood of Dawnwalker on the Xbox Store, with the Standard Edition retailing for £59.99 / $69.99 and featuring a special armour set pre-order bonus. Alternatively, the Eclipse Edition is £69.99 / $79.99 and adds a Digital World Compendium, Digital Soundtrack and Digital Comic Book.

We saw a whole bunch of games being debuted for the first time at the Xbox Games Showcase earlier this month, and one of those was the open world RPG The Blood of Dawnwalker, which is coming to Xbox at some point in 2026.
Following that reveal, we've now got a massive 21-minute gameplay deep dive for The Blood of Dawnwalker that shows us a lot more of what to expect from this one, and early impressions are pretty positive for the most part.

Looking at the overall reception to this gameplay reveal, there's definitely a lot of intrigue and hype surrounding The Blood of Dawnwaker, and a lot of people are pointing out the similarities between this and The Witcher 3.
However, there's also an insistence that the developers take their time to perfect the game as much as possible, particularly when it comes to the camera angle (which some feel is too close), the sword combat and the apparent in-game time limit.
There's still a long time to go until The Blood of Dawnwalker arrives on Xbox, but based on the million+ views on this overview (across multiple channels) over the past couple of days, it has ever chance of being a bit hit in 2026.
