Can you believe it's been one year since Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 first launched on Xbox Game Pass back in April of 2025?! The game ended up being a massive success — more than anyone could have expected — and took home the Game of the Year award at The Game Awards 2025, while also being crowned the biggest third-party launch on Xbox Game Pass last year.
To mark the first anniversary, developer Sandfall Interactive has issued a surprise update across all platforms including Xbox today, with the highlight feature being the addition of special "first anniversary haircuts for the expedition".

- Added 1st Anniversary haircuts for the expedition!
- Gustave's Anniversary haircut is available at the Gestral Merchant near Stone Wave Cliffs.
- Verso + Maelle + Lune + Sciel + Monoco's Anniversary haircuts are available at the Gestral Merchant near Grosse Tête on the World Map.
There are a few other minor improvements to mention as well, including fixes to collision issues and situations where it wasn't possible to open a rest point during in-world dialogue, along with adjustments to achievement text.

- Fixed an issue where Danseuse outfit for Lune and Sciel made the character menu too obscur.
- Fixed an issue where it was not possible to open a rest point in various locations when an in-world dialogue was playing.
- Fixed collision issues in various locations.
- Adjusted some achievement text for consistency.
It's also been announced today that Expedition 33 has passed eight million sales across all platforms!
As we mentioned earlier in April, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 recently got added to the Xbox Game Pass Premium tier, which means everyone who's signed up to Game Pass (aside from Essential members) now has access to it.
Honestly, we thought they might take it away after one year of being on the service, but with such an incredible Game of the Year title now available to even more XGP members, we reckon Premium has become too good to ignore!
