Last week, Ubisoft's latest current-gen 60FPS upgrade was applied to 2014's Assassin's Creed Unity, and early footage suggested that the frame rate was looking rock solid, despite concerns over the game's resolution. Now though, it seems as though the game has a different visual issue on Xbox Series X|S, with the lighting model seemingly not working as intended at the time of writing.
Indeed, folks have taken to Reddit and the likes to show that Assassin's Creed Unity's new update has washed out the lighting on the Xbox Series X and S versions of the game. These same issues don't crop up on the newly-updated PlayStation 5 and PS5 Pro versions - or indeed the old Xbox One version from back in 2014.
You can see some footage that shows this off in video form down below:
Clearly, this is just some sort of visual glitch here, and we're hoping to see Ubisoft address this soon - and hopefully provide a follow-up patch to put the Xbox Series X|S versions back in-line with the other consoles. For now, the patch seems to have done its job performance-wise on Xbox, but not really in the visual department.
We'll throw links to our other coverage on this Assassin's Creed Unity upgrade down below, but it's safe to say that we'll be waiting patiently for another update to replay this classic AC game here in 2026.
