Hmm. I honestly don't know what I'm going to play this weekend. I beat Marvel's Spider-Man 2 yesterday and am still figuring out what I will play next.
This weekend I'm probably going to rotate between SMTV: Vengeance, Marvel's Spider-Man 2 and Dragon Age: The Veilguard. Maybe going to play a bit of Neptunia: Sisters VS Sisters aswell(on Switch).
On Xbox this year, I've beaten the following games, in order:
OlliOlli World Gears of War 2(was a replay with a friend) Rollerdrome Call of Duty: Black Ops: Cold War Crackdown 3 RoboCop: Rogue City Deus Ex: Human Revolution A Way Out Remnant II We Love Katamari: REROLL + Royal Reverie Another Crab's Treasure Red Dead Redemption Hitman: Absolution
For me there's five games released this year that deserves a 10: Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance Granblue Fantasy: Relink Silent Hill 2 Remake Trails through Daybreak Fate/stay Night Remastered
This weekend I'm not really having anything specific that I'll be playing, I finished Stellar Blade like six days ago and haven't felt motivated enough(yet) to start playing anything seriously.
Buuut...I did start my second playthrough of Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance, this time on Xbox, so I suppose I'll keep playing that, maybe with some Civ VI on Switch on the side.
This weekend I'm focusing on Stellar Blade and nothing else. I really like the game but I kinda despise both of the open-environment levels due to many factors that take far too long to breakdown in a comment like this.
This weekend I'm mainly going to play Stellar Blade and Bravely Default II. Got some friends coming over tomorrow though so I downloaded Modern Warfare 2(the X360 version) and Crash Team Racing: Nitro-Fueled for that occasion.
I've used it for years now, see no point in leaving it in sleep mode(why would I want to waste electricity on having the Xbox boot up slightly faster, just makes no sense) and I prefer to keep my electrical bills to a minimum where possible.
@Xbox_Dashboard I never tried to claim that it's a new concept, sorry if it came across as that. I merely wanted to point out that for me personally, 100+ gb install sizes are a bit overkill.
I was super-excited about this game but there's no way I'm gonna download any game that is that big. I've always felt 100+ GB install sizes is already asking too much. Oh well...at least I won't have to worry about spending basically $80 on a single game. As in...I'm skipping this one, thanks Microsoft...
Obviously Nine Sols with Metal Slug: Tactics coming in at second place.
Can't speak about S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl since I still want to play through S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chornobyl(and clear up more of the backlog) before I install it.
The rest of the additions this month felt pretty meh to me except maybe Aliens: Dark Descent.
This weekend I'm rotating between Starfield and Nine Sols on Xbox, Bravely Default II on Switch(working on clearing the true ending route before Fantasian drops next week) and then maybe like...Stellar Blade, Silent Hill 2 and Slitterhead on PS5.
This weekend I'm playing Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake on Switch after having beaten Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door earlier this week. Will also play Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 with a friend tomorrow, on Switch.
I'm just gonna write what I always say:
Reviews are simply someone's opinions in written form or otherwise.
If you are able to, you should ALWAYS try a game for themselves(or watch gameplay if there is any and think of if the game is something that might be for you) and form their own opinion instead of blindly following reviews and take them as fact.
I have followed this principle for over 10 years now and it has never failed me.
@Kraven Thanks for writing this. I was on the fence(for reasons other than the ones most people seem to have) but after that write-up, I honestly might end up getting it.
I finally beat SMTV: Vengeance(fantastic game, improves on the original in just about every way) on PS5 earlier this week after around 114 hours and am now looking towards what's next on the list. Right now I think I'll stick to Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door on Switch but I am dabbling in other games too until I find what I will be playing for the next few weeks.
Same as last week for me: Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance.
Recently passed 90 hours of playtime so it might end up surpassing my playtime of the original SMTV.
I may play a bit of S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Shadow of Chornobyl on the side though, on Switch.
It's a 50/50 between Dragon Age: Origins and Mass Effect 2 for me but I went with Dragon Age: Origins. Both games are masterpieces and nothing that Bioware has made since 2010 has come even close enough to topping them. Mass Effect 3 was at least pretty good.
On a side-note: I would love to see Dragon Age: Origins get ported to Switch. Not 2 or Inquisition, just the first game please.
This weekend, I am still locked into my SMTVV playthrough. I'm nearing the end of the Canon of Vengeance route though so that's something. Don't think I'll have time for any other game this weekend but might at least be able to squeeze in some Fear 3 tomorrow when a friend comes over(we started playing it in splitscreen like...two weeks ago).
I don't really see a reason for why I should get this when I already have the original X360 version(which plays like a dream on Series X). Like...I personally don't care about the Shadow stuff enough to pay full price. Now, if they had sold the Shadow stuff as a standalone release at half the price, I would have been more inclined to buy that.
I tend to mix my purchases between Switch, PS5 and Xbox but my rule of thumb is usually to buy most JRPG's on both Switch and PS5(it's a case by case basis), most multi-platform games on PS5(with minor exceptions) and on Xbox it's honestly kind of a mix between all genres depending on a multitude of factors.
This weekend is all about continuing Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance on PS5 for me. Maybe I will continue my replay of SIFU too(played through it back when it first released on PS4 and honestly, the game is just as amazing as it was back then) on Xbox and I may also play more Pizza Tower on Switch.
This weekend I'm playing the prologue demo for Metaphor ReFantazio and System Shock on PS5. Once I've beaten the Metaphor demo, it's back to either Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance or Trails through Daybreak.
Gotta say Like a Dragon from 2020 simply because I still haven't gotten around to playing Infinite Wealth but honestly it's a 50/50 between it(LaD) and Ishin!, both are ***** amazing.
@ozkrmz Ah, Code Vein. Such a good game. I remember playing it at launch with a buddy and it was such an amazing experience that I took the platinum. Also, the connection to the God Eater series was pretty unexpected but fun.
I eventually gotta replay that and go for a solo playthrough. 🥰
This weekend I'm continuing my playthrough of Trails through Daybreak(Yes I did take a break from the series...for like a day or so) and this is easily my favorite game in the series by far but only because my journey through the series up until this point has been really rewarding in general.
I'll also be playing the demo version for Romancing SaGa 2: Revenge of the Seven and more Space Marine 2 this weekend.
This weekend, I'm finally gonna beat Trails into Reverie(on PS5) and after that, I'll take a much-needed break from the series before I continue with Trails through Daybreak. So...I guess I will continue playing Space Marine 2(also on PS5) once Reverie is beaten.
On Switch, I'll mainly play a bit of Pizza Tower here and there.
On Xbox, I don't actually think I will be playing anything this weekend.
I'm slowly trying to get back to daily life and gaming after having been sick since last sunday(first time being sick since before the pandemic!) so I don't really know what I will be playing this weekend but I guess I'll continue to chip away at Trails into Reverie on PS5, if I get some time over.
This weekend I'll alternate between Trails into Reverie and Rise of the Ronin on PS5 with some Pizza Tower(and possibly Signalis) on Switch on the side. On Xbox I'll most likely try to get back to INDIKA or something, maybe I'll just continue with Visions of Mana instead.
Having beaten Trails of Cold Steel IV earlier in the week(took me around 83 hours to beat so quite a bit shorter than Trails of Cold Steel III), I finally started Trails into Reverie so that's what I will probably be playing for the foreseeable future.
30 FPS is good enough for gaming as long as it's generally stable but 60 FPS is always a nice bonus to have. I will never fully understand why people get so incredibly upset whenever it comes to framerate.
Will play it on PS5, been interested in it ever since I saw the announcement trailer back in 2020 and that's kinda the only one I've seen, I tend to stay away from trailers in general.
I'm happy to hear that it seems to be a more old-fashioned linear action game rather than yet another open-world affair.
Based on Gameranx's Before You Buy video, it really sounds like my kind of game.
On Xbox this weekend: Hitman: World of Assassination after having beaten Hitman: Absolution yesterday(would give it a 7 out 10) and possibly more Dungeons of Hinterberg. On Switch: Trails of Cold Steel IV On PS5: Still nothing but that's fine, I'm clearly in a Xbox+Switch period currently.

Well, at least S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2 is on that list, better than nothing I guess.
Re: Talking Point: Which Xbox Games Have You Managed To Finish This Year?
On Xbox this year, I've beaten the following games, in order:
OlliOlli World
Gears of War 2(was a replay with a friend)
Rollerdrome
Call of Duty: Black Ops: Cold War
Crackdown 3
RoboCop: Rogue City
Deus Ex: Human Revolution
A Way Out
Remnant II

Another Crab's Treasure
Red Dead Redemption
Hitman: Absolution
Re: Poll: How Many Xbox Games Have You Actually Bought In 2024?
I would say around...maybe 50?
Around 90% of them were physical, of course.
Re: Merry Christmas And Happy Holidays From All Of Us At Pure Xbox!
While I don't celebrate holidays, I guess I'll wish you all a relaxing end of the year.
Christmas is over-rated.

Silent Hill 2 Remake
Trails through Daybreak
Fate/stay Night Remastered
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (December 21-22)
@FatGuyInLilCoat
Nine Sols is amazing, basically Hollow Knight mixed with Sekiro-inspired combat with a heavy emphasis on deflecting attacks.

Re: Talking Point: What Are Your Overall Thoughts On Xbox Game Pass In 2024?
I would say it's been an alright year.
Games like Nine Sols make it worth it, in my opinion.

Definitely The New Colossus but if we also count old Starbreeze(key staff from there formed MachineGames), I have to say The Darkness from 2007.

Yeah no, I do get that.
Apologies if my comment came across as negative.

Is it just me or has November been unusually thin in terms of Game Pass additions?
As in, if we only look at the amount of added games.
