Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (February 28 - March 1)

I beat Yakuza Kiwami 3 literally while Resident Evil Requiem was installing yesterday so I’ll be playing that one.
Also I’ll be running through another Capcom Belt Action Collection Beat Em Up with an American friend of mine like we’ve done every Saturday for the past 3 weeks now.

Still playing Ghost of Yotei I'm at 66% according to my PS5 absolutely loving it and don't want it to end. I've also still got Avowed to start but I'll probably hang off until I'm done with Yotei I'm trying to only play 1 open world game at a time.

AC Shadows - Claws of Awaji - I've finished the story content, which was very good and I really enjoyed returning to this game, its awesome imo. Its also story content I feel everyone who finished the game should play, without spoling anything 🙂

Marathon Server Slam - I've played 5-6 rounds and its not a bad game by any means, the gameplay, movement, gun handling and that is very good which is to be expected but then the rest is not as good, UI is a mess and I dont really see myself playing a game like this for very long as I just dont see what would keep me invested in the long run. But its early days and that might change, Im not getting it at release though, but maybe down the line. We'll see.

Other than that, not much gaming this week and next week we're on a skiing trip so I'll be on the Portal but havent decided what to play yet. Hope you all have some tips for me 🙂

Kingdom Come Deliverace 2 (XSX) Still chipping away at this great game. I’ve started the “Legacy of the forge” DLC, which I’m doing concurrently with the main story.
Xenoblade Chronicles X Definitive Edition (S2) The only Xenoblade game I’d played previously was X3, so this is completely new to me. Only around 3 hours in, and am so far enjoying it. Just taking my time with it though, as I’ve heard it’s quite a deep game with many systems and mechanics, so don't want to get overwhelmed.
TMNT Splintered fate (XSX). Bought this during the week, and hope to start it over the weekend.

This weekend I'm going to start resident evil 4 remake that I picked up during the week and I'll try clean up the last couple achievements I need in high on life 2 aswell.

@Globo enjoy Resi 4 - as close to perfect as gaming gets.

Just got to the point of Avatar where it 'opens up' (I'm being careful with the spoilers) and my word this is a good looking game. Not many games actually make me stop and take it all in, and now this after Avowed means I've played two games in a row that have actually made me go 'wow' at multiple different moments. Game wise, it's a bit fiddly with a lot of different game systems but definitely enjoying it.

Quake (SW) - Just sticking to multiplayer for now.

Equalicious (Windows Phone) - Nearly at the end now.

Asphalt Overdrive (Windows Phone) - Need to get back to this.

@Scrubchub Thanks dude I'm hoping after I finish re 4 I'll want to complete the resident evil 2&3 remakes aswell bought them a while back but haven't played them yet.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance on Series X. Henry is currently investigating some dodgy goings-on at a monastery. Much more confident with swordplay now I have learned the Master Strike (done differently in KCD2). Very much enjoying it, but miss the quality of life enhancements of 2, especially being able to swap between 3 outfits.

@Globo i just finished Resident Evil 4 remake a few days ago. It was a really good game. Enjoy it!

Ninja gaiden Ragebound. Got 2 levels left so ill probably finish today. Fun game if anyone feels like playing a current side scroller.

Afterwards ill either buy Requiem or start Doom the dark ages

While you might find it hard to believe I began The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt for the first time just the other evening. I've played and finished the first two games years ago, however TW3 has been sat on my PC for quite some time due to other commitments.
Anyway, I've just finished the Bloody Baron storyline and what a damn fine game it is. Remarkable in fact.
I'm curious, though, as to why the combat gets a lot of ire? If you've played the first two games in the series you'll know it's a massive improvement. I actually find TW3's combat perfectly fine, better than a lot of other games of this type in fact, and have now gotten it down to an almost masterful degree. I rarely get bothered in combat.

Still playing through Alice: Madness Returns. I'm about half way now. Remains one of my favourite platformers.

Also fired up a classic game on the old 360 this week, PGR 4.
Been a while since I've played it and it's lost none of its charm. Why don't they make racing games like this anymore? There's a palatable brilliance to it's bold simplicity. There's none of the tiresome tropes found in modern racers. No ridiculous narratives, no forced nonsense dressed up as gameplay, just pure, unadulterated racing that handles wonderfully as it slips and slides somewhere between arcade and simulator.
I often see people asking for PGR to return, but I say no to that as they'd no doubt only go and ruin it with their online DRM and aggressive monetisation. So yes while I lament the fact they don't make racing games of this calibre anymore I say leave well alone and not sour PGR's reputation.

@Globo definitely go for it, they're all as good as each other. Resi 3 got a bit of a pasting due to its short length but putting that to one side it's just as good as the other ones to play. Resi 2 remake is magnificent. They're as good as gaming gets.

Edit - don't forget the Separate Ways DLC for 4. It's more like a second campaign for the main game than a DLC.

Starred Resident Evil Requiem last night on PS5 Pro and it looks incredible,it's no surprise that this installment is the premium horror experience,big budget gaming at its finest, looking forward to playing more only at night in the dark
Also tried the Marathon Slam....awful, dropped it after one match and I thought Highguard was bad lol

@Scrubchub Yeah I got the gold edition of re 4 so it has the dlc included I never played that dlc before looks good.
Yeah I need to get them played I own 2&3 ages and with all the hype around the new game coming out it has me wanting to play the series
