Ubisoft just isn't good at the f2p business model. It's not necessarily the quality of the game, even though I don't find it to be very good. Hyperscape was awesome imo, but Ubisoft didn't know how to manage it.
Ubisoft should stick to what they know best, the 4 games they make.
If everyone can look the same, what's the point? I don't understand people's obsession with these in-game accessories to begin with though. Like I've never seen a hat or tiny keychain on a players gun and went "omg wow, that person is the koolest", or changed my hat and felt the game was fresh or different somehow.
Unless you're an indie developer, you have no say in the product, and you don't get to be a perfectionist.
The only thing a publisher cares about is money, and making the game just good enough that people don't ask for refunds.
Sure, it's a horrible practice that will only lead to the downfall of the industry. But people don't seem to mind for the most part.
It will get worse, and people will take it, then get even worse, and so on, till publishers are using AI to pump out games that just increase our dopamine levels at a subconscious level.
And at that point, people will disagree with developers trying to make perfect real games. Those will be old hat.
I love everything about it, responsive controls, a variety of animations and moves you can do, vibrant artistic style, and a fantastic soundtrack.
Unfortunately the problem with a game like this is that it will feel stale after a couple of playthroughs. I'd like to see a modern take on a beat em up. With character updates and seasons, so that the game always stays fresh.
In the original game on Genesis, I always thought the main character looked like Jerry Seinfeld. I would do his voice while playing the game around my brothers. Fun times.
@Zenszulu I've worked in game testing before. I'm not gonna say for who or that they all do the same things, but often what happens is the devs don't bother listening to the testers no matter how many bug reports are written over and over about the same issues. They'll actually mark it as a dupe, when you're trying to let them know it's a serious problem, and dupes don't look good to your test lead, so then you don't bother reporting anything.
The publisher pays a QA company to contract an amount of hours of testing for a certain game, and since the devs don't listen, it just turns to pointless mindless playing to rack up the required hours.
I initially liked it because the OG Pac-Man is more responsive than the standalone Xbox one version. But really it's sooooo bad. I really like Super Pac-Man, but it's unplayable on this collection. Even Pac-Man 256 is somehow a slightly different version than the standalone version. The only playable game on it is Pac-Man Arrangement console version, and even that one has an input delay.
I really don't get what the problem is. Pac-Man is a pretty simple game to code. If Pac-Man Championship DX+ for Xbox 360 can have flawless control input, then they can all have the same fluid control.
And where's Namco at? They haven't addressed the issues on Twitter, and they don't reply to tweets.
Great looking games. But I don't believe release dates no more. I take a release date, roll 2d12 for the months, and that's probably when they might announce a delay.
They market sports games like supplements, with proprietary nonsense words. Fieldsense lol. My game is called American Football Game Year 2023 and it has BallTech technology that makes the ball have better physics, it's also the first game to have SynchroPitch which will make the grass react better to cleats. You won't even notice the tech is there, but it's important to know about before you buy it.
12 years ago Super Meat Boy was easy, well not easy, but I remember getting past the first boss quickly. It's been a while since a game has made me this frustrated lol. The joys of aging.
Pac-Man is as addictive as ever. Well, most of em on there. But most of all I'm happy to have a playable version of original Pac-Man. That standalone Pac-Man on Xbox One has the worst controls ever. Pac-Man 256 needs some work though. It's a slightly different version with less responsive controls.
My guess is that they're gonna release an Xbox classic at the Xbox showcase. It'll primarily be a Game Pass streaming machine like we all suspect, but it will also be an Xbox classic with a small hard drive so you can buy digital versions of Original Xbox and Xbox 360 games.
I don't buy games too often no more. I'm actually scared to because there's been a few times where I bought a game, and then it came to GP.
I believe GP IS hurting sales, and it will eventually result in devs making a lot of lame games. But I also believe that this is the last traditional console generation (besides Nintendo probably), and the beginning of the transition into VR virtual worlds.
I believe that they could release a Halo kart racer or Halo fishing game, and "die hard fans" would defend them and say they're great additions to the Halo franchise.
That's the problem, Halo has reached cult status. It doesn't matter what kinda trash get added to the franchise, fanboys will defend it. When in reality, Halo hasn't been good since 3, maybe 4.
I wish Xbox would bring back XSN. I liked the Top Spin game, and the whole leaderboard system they had for the sports games. It was a really great idea.
Just like the custom controllers, if you have to send it back, they send you a regular one. And you pay more for that. I wouldn't buy a custom anything unless I already own the regular version of it.
Xbox is heading in the direction of Valve, a company that USED to make good games but now is just a platform for other games. They can aquire companies all day, but by next generation (or 3 to 5 years) they'll have no heart left. No soul, just another online game store kinda thing.
2 years to make a single map? I guess we'll be waiting another 2 years for co-op. At this rate, Splitgate will have a full co-op campaign before Halo Infinite.
This makes me wanna play Fortnite again. It's a solid shooter, I just don't like the building part because I'm an older gamer who can't be brothered to learn it.
They're free games. Yeah, they almost always suck, but they're free. Ignore them if you don't want them. You know Microsoft is just gonna let the program rot into a lost relic the likes of the community app, and other mismatched parts of the Xbox platform.
343 proved something and set a precedent. Now any studio can release unfinished games by selling promises, and people will just take it and even defend it; it's the politics model.
They weren't happy with the game but they released what they had anyways. And now here we are with a Halo without co-op, and a bunch of smiling lemmings filled with hope.
@CrazyJF it would still be easier with a dongle that they can update directly. With the TV app stores, it's harder. MS would have to contact all the TV companies and get them on board, and not all of them would wanna participate, especially not Sony. Then updates would be annoying. it's why you don't see smaller streaming services like Shudder on TV app stores.
A VR device would be great. But I'd rather an AR device like the HoloLens, there's just so much more that can be done with AR.
Can you use a second controller in the new one? The first one doesn't let you use a second controller (even though theres an option for it). It also doesn't read the questions.
Everything thing about it looks good, except that bumpers, which are required to play Xbox games properly. The great thing about the bumpers on the standard Xbox controller is that it's possible and easy to press a bumper with your knuckle or like side of finger while a trigger is pressed. It doesn't look like it would be possible to do on this controller.
I think they're gonna do a system that's just for streaming Game Pass xcloud games once the service is outta beta. A hdmi KEY kinda thing, like the Stadia but with good games.
The game feels like it's still in beta, it doesn't feel done, and it isn't done. It needs better game mode selection like in MCC, it needs co-op, it needs forge, it needs the customization options that were in the trailer, it needs to get finished. The presentation is very bland.
The problem is that fanboys don't allow for open communication about a game that clearly isn't ready for primetime.
It's the most half-assed release of a AAA game I've ever seen.
Paw Patrol is pretty fun. Not sure why I liked it so much, I'm definitely not a kid lol. Took me about 2 hours. Its kinda like Sponge Bob Battle for Bikini Bottom, which I also like. It's just fun to collect things.

NCAA football 2014 and OutRun 2006.
