It's almost that time once again, with more Xbox Games with Gold titles set to be announced very soon! The month of May has seen Yoku's Island Express, The Inner World - The Last Wind Monk, Hydro Thunder Hurricane, and Viva Piñata Party Animals all given away for free for Xbox Live Gold subscribers, and another four games will soon be on the way.
If you haven't done it yet, you can still download three of May's selection via the links below:
- Yoku's Island Express (May 1- 31)
- The Inner World - The Last Wind Monk (May 16 - June 15)
- Viva Piñata Party Animals (May 16 - 31)
The Games with Gold announcement for June 2022 should be with us any day now, and we're hoping it'll give us something to be excited about. May hasn't been bad at all, so can Microsoft top it with a great selection in June?

Persona 5 announced and day one GWG. A man can dream…
What games would I like to see offered?
That's easy. Just look at what older games been on sale last few weeks and there you go. Pretty much why I stopped buying older games. So often buy it, then goes on gold games.
Red Dead Redemption 2
Balan Wonderworld and Sonic '06. I'm a realist.
I believe Elden Ring and Wonderlands would be pretty fair to us at this point.
@PastaBrian I just bought RDR2 for the first time, so I would be miffed. But I'll take RDR as a GWG offering!
I’d be happy with RE: Code Veronica. I think we just had it not too long ago, but I forgot to download it when I had the chance
Witcher 3, a Raymond game, something for the kids
NCAA football 2014 and OutRun 2006.
@Krzzystuff Everybody Loves Rayman 😂
I’d play a Ray Romano platformer.
Well I'll either already own it, or have no interest in playing it.
With Sony fumbling out their subscription services just now, now would be a really good time to just drop XBL Gold from existence.
The biggest MP games are F2P and already free to play online (which makes Gold a tax on paying customers). PC is free to play online. Game Pass is more appealing when it's the only subscription to pay for. Just strike and take all the thunder.
Realistically, we're looking at Cloning Clyde, R.A.W. and A Knight's Quest.
Wouldn't it be something if one of them was Sonic 06 after idiots like me bought it when it got put back up 😂
True achievements has Injustice: God's Among Us, NeoGeo Battle Coliseum, Shadows: Awakening and The King's Bird listed on their site as next month's games. Never noticed something like this in the past, no idea if it's correct or a mistake.
Not like what we want matters. It will just be another racing game and more indie games no one bought. I mean I get it, they’re making bank with Game Pass, why bother giving anything good away.
Gear of War 4
COD Ghost
Dungeon Siege 3
The Darkness 1 or 2
"Elden Ring", "Diablo 2 Resurrection" and/or "Sekiro"...
Let it die. While there has been the occasional good game on there - Yoku's Island Express this month is brilliant! - I haven't played a game from Gold in over 2 years since Batman The Enemy Within as i've either owned or played all the better games offered.
@themightyant
Im with you on this. Unless you collect old titles and want a full catalogue, the offerings on this service rarely appeal to anyone and it needs to be re thought.
It doesnt stand comparison with the rivals similar service, which is not brilliant, but looks better when compared to gwg line up.
Yes GP is brilliant, but not everyone is on it.....
I would like to see need for speed most wanted the original one
@NEStalgia I'd like that. That would be a remorse-free way to try two of the most divisive platformers ever.
Mortal kombat 9 (2011) left 4 dead (2008)
Red dead redemption (2010) Watch dogs 2 (2016) and Mortal kombat 11 (2019)
And tony hawk's underground (2003)
To be honest i have been left disappointed by the fact it is mostly indies now!
They used to give you gears 4 or gears 5.
Games people actually wanted.
But now it is hit or miss.
Max Payne
Return of the Obra Dinn
@Richnj Just in case you didn't know, you no longer need Gold to play free to play games online.
