@Kraven, I was always going to play it, thank you Game Pass, but I wasn't in the camp of I can't wait for this game. After the deep dive, I ended up preordering the Constellation Edition, and am now bummed that I'm going to be out of town until after its official launch on the 6th.
I don't disagree with the framerate argument. I always choose the make it look pretty mode over the performance mode anyway. I know I'm in the minority, but as long as the framerate is consistent, it looks the same to me. You only really notice the framerate when it drops.
@ValentineMeikin I'm actually one of the weird ones who pre-ordered DQXI on PS4 played for an hour and never went back to it because I have a bad tendency to not play my PS consoles. I also bought it on Xbox on day one and sunk over 40 hours into the game. I still need to finish it though. The QoL changes between the original and the S versions make playing the original suck.
@KaijuKaiser I would say if Microsoft paid for exclusivity then it's the same as what Sony has been doing, but if they didn't, then it's not the same. It could just be a small team that wants to focus on one platform at a time. Really the only ones that know are the powers that be at Microsoft and Iron Gate Studios.
@jrt87, that has a tendency to be an issue with remasters, they usually just get them working on the newer hardware and maybe give them some higher res textures. They don't update the controls to a more "modern" control scheme. They will always feel "clunky" because, let's face it, the controls of the time they were released weren't great. For me personally, I take the "controls are old and clunky" line in reviews for remasters with a grain of salt. I would still love to see a remake, remaster, or just a plain old port of Clock Tower 3 and Xenosaga, even with their old and clunky controls.
People love to complain about the offering every month no matter what it is. When they give AAA games like Gears 5, people complain because they already own the game. When they do indie titles, they complain because they're not AAA. I like the fact that Microsoft is trying to broaden my gaming horizons with giving me some games that I never would've played otherwise.
@edusoares I also don't agree with basically forcing developers to create the time trial or demo. I personally think the resources that would be used to create it would be better put to use on the actual game development.
I'm pretty sure mine was Super Mario Brothers for the NES. The NES was the first console I ever owned. It came with the Zapper and Power Pad with SMB, Duck Hunt, and Track & Field on one cartridge.
I plan on getting Hogwarts Legacy, but not until it goes on sale. Not spending $70 on a base game; did it for Ratchet & Clank and didn't get that value out of it. Enjoyed the game and got the platinum, but it wasn't worth $70, more like $50.
@Chaudy I actually finished Death's Door and Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart. Unfortunately, I went back to finish HZD and started DDLC+, Tunic, Edge of Eternity, and Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth to just name a few. I'm all over the place.
As someone who has both the Series X and the PS5 and has upgraded games on both consoles, the PS5, especially before they made it easier, is a pain to upgrade. I have Cyberpunk on the Xbox, and it upgraded on its own. I didn't have to do anything, it already upgraded while the system was off.
I would love a new entry that uses the Guitar Hero Live guitars. Live was my favorite gameplay of the series, it just sucks that it had a relatively small catalog outside of the online which shutdown years ago.
ME1 is definitely my favorite by far. ME2 is my least favorite. I can't tell you how many times I fell asleep while scanning planets. I also didn't like how they broke up the missions. It felt more like a third person shooter than an RPG.
@PopularCorpse Same here. It's fun when a feature that you've had for months finally hits the public build, and people are talking about it. The weird thing that'll happen to me in it is the updates section gets broken. It'll just sit there spinning check for updates and not show anything, and when there are updates in the queue it only shows one at a time so you have no idea what's getting updated.
I'd rather just have something like an icon next to the title if I have the 100% achievement completion for the base game. It doesn't have to be an additional achievement like the platinum is, most multiplatform games already have a "platinum" trophy achievement. I think the DLC achievements should be grouped like they are on the Playstation and don't get counted against the 100% for the game.
@IronMan30 If you're talking about Monolith Soft, they are known for Xenogears (PS1), Xenosaga I-III (PS2), and Xenoblade Chronicles (Wii/WiiU/Switch). Nintendo bought them sometime after Xenosaga III on the PS2.
I haven't noticed anything over the past week. I was in party chats while playing the Halo Infinite technical preview with no issues, and my copy of Avengers downloaded a 46GB update without any problems either. This was all on a Series X that's in the Xbox Insider Alpha Skip Ahead Ring.
I really hope that I don't have to buy it again just to get The Jungle Book. I'm hoping that it'll be a title update for the original if you own it, but I doubt it will. At the very least, it'll be paid DLC.
@BlueOcean My backlog is ever growing. As of right now I'm playing Ratchet & Clank and the Ghost of Tsushima Iki Island DLC on the PS5 and Tales of Arise and Psychonauts 2 on the Series X. That's not to mention I need to go back to FFVIIR and Miles Morales, along with DQXI, Cris Tales, and many other Game Pass games I started.
So, do I wait and play it day one with Game Pass or do I just get it now for the PS5? I'm still not sure if it's one I'll invest a lot of time in though.
I think it would be fun to see Playground Games make an Xbox themed Mario Kart game. I know more people would rather see a Super Smash Bros clone, but Mario Kart would be much better and more fun.
I never heard of this game until I opened up the Game Pass app today on my phone and saw it sitting there in the recently released section. I am intrigued and may have to give it a go.
I'm still going to keep my pre-order. That steelbook case that comes with the Bandai Namco store's pre-order looks fantastic and is hard to pass up for me.
Let's not forget when Microsoft did the Halo 5 collector's edition that only came with a digital copy of the game. There was a lot of backlash and Microsoft ended up offering physical copies for the people who wanted it. Bioware also went this route with not including the game in the special editions for Andromeda as well.
@ThanosReXXX, your Gold subscription would get converted to Game Pass Ultimate when you subscribe to Game Pass Ultimate. With the timed nature of games on the service it's not different from shows and movies on Netflix. Plus first party games won't leave the service.

Re: Talking Point: Which 'Bad' Games Have Had The Best Comeback Stories?
Anthem was heading that way with the 2.0 update until EA told Bioware to stop development on it.
I do wish though that games would stop being released in these broken states.
