Respawn has announced today that it's taking the original Titanfall off sale immediately — including on Xbox — with the game also set to be removed from EA Play and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate on March 1st, 2022.
In a message to fans, the company explained that it would continue to keep the servers active "for the dedicated fanbase still playing", and also promised that Titanfall's universe "will continue" in the future:
Titanfall was one of the first major exclusives of the Xbox One generation back in 2014, and went on to spawn another beloved sequel in 2016. Fortunately, Titanfall 2 remains unaffected by these changes (at least for now).
It's been a tough year for Titanfall fans with both of the games suffering major hacking issues over the past 12 months. However, the dedicated "community day" back in May proved that there's still a large audience who love these games, with Titanfall 2 boasting an impressive max peak of over 50,000 players across all platforms on Saturday, May 1st.
Let's hope there's still some life in the Titanfall franchise... we'd love to see a third game in the series.

Was just playing Titanfall 2 last night thanks to the Game Pass weekly quest. Had a lot of fun with the defense mode.
To be fair it was never going to get more sales and TF2 blows it away anyway.
Never played 1 but 2 was one of the best FPS campaigns I've played and pre infinite was the best multiplayer as well. Still highly rated, mechs are always fun
Titanfall 1/2 should try to get an upgrade to series s/x
This is sad news as I've been playing the first game a lot since the FPS boost. The 360 version even has some life in it still but I wonder why they are pulling the plug. The player counts went away when the servers were being hacked and never came back, it can't be that hard to fix this, EA. See you Pilots out there
I want Titanfall 3 sooooooo bad.
Did find the first one's multiplayer more fun than two.
Never played the mp. The campaign was touted as great & it duly delivered and more. People who say its one of the best campaigns aren't lying. It's an amazing journey and the length is perfect. I'd love Titanfall 3 campaign.

That's sad. 2 is a much better game so it's not the end of the world, but still such a good series. But we have generic battle royal now so it's all good...
