Re: Talking Point: Should Microsoft & 343 Carry On With Halo Infinite?

MetalGear_Yoshi

Don't care at this point. They absolutely shouldn't get a million miles near whatever the next game in the franchise is though.

@Kaloudz I thought that as soon as MS bought Zenimax. The first new Wolfenstein was amazing and both Dooms are super well regarded (not played the second yet though). To me it shows that they "get" the franchises they work on and are capable of updating the games to feel modern whilst still feeling true to each franchise. Something Halo could use after all this time and what I think they were shooting for with Infinite.

They've also got that Deathloop/Redfall studio that are pretty talented. They're no Bungie or iD but at this point "not 343" is enough to make me more interested in Halo than I am atm.

Re: Report: 343 Industries 'Hit Hard' By This Week's Job Cuts At Microsoft

MetalGear_Yoshi

Obviously terrible to see anyone lose their jobs but if they're doing a cull the person with the title "Halo Infinite Senior Designer" probably shouldn't be surprised when he finds his head under the axe.

That said this kind of mass firing is gross. All so the company can put on a facade for shareholders. But how can we complain? As we all know, achieving larger returns than last year is the most important thing in the world. Throw newborns into volcanoes if you must. Society will crumble if investors don't get a substantial roi...

Re: Wait, Did Xbox Pay $600K For Cooking Simulator On Game Pass?

MetalGear_Yoshi

Doesn't seem like that much to me. Maybe for that game in particular as it's a couple of years old but they've got to make it worth the developers while to make their game free across multiple platforms (assuming it's on pc pass too) world wide.

MS is no doubt making money hand over fist from Gamepass too. $600k would be a tiny fraction of their monthly turnover from the service.

Either way it's safe to assume that the bean counters at MS know what they're doing.

Re: Four Games Are Confirmed For Xbox Game Pass In September 2022 So Far

@NEStalgia Oh, that's very consumer friendly than. Good on them.

It's a series that I think I like the idea of more than actually playing it if that makes sense. It didn't really grab me when I bit the bullet and tried the second one out though unfortunately. Same thing happened with MS Flight Sim as well.

It does look really great for those that are fans of trains though. It must be a lot of fun to get to operate different engines on different lines around the world if it's something you're into.

Re: Forza Fans Debate Whether Horizon 5's Map Is More 'Boring' Than Horizon 4

MetalGear_Yoshi

I just started playing it. It's boring. Just opened up a new Forza area thingy and all the events are super dispersed. Half the game feels like wasted time driving from one event to the other with little more than an xp board here or there in between. That's pretty much the series as a whole but it feels like a lot more of a slog this time.

All the dialogue is painful too. Pure cringe.
