Re: Xbox Boss Reveals Brief Thoughts On Elder Scrolls 6 After Seeing A 'Live Playthrough'

@VisitingComet1 Because New Vegas was essentially a mod pack for Fallout 3 made by professional developers rather than an entirely new game.

So similar in fact you have user mods that combine the two games into one where you actually play as the same person across both games with new plot and dialog for why.

Check out OpenMorrowind. If you have a VR headset, OpenMorrowind VR.

Re: Halo 1 Co-Creator Reveals His Verdict On The Campaign Evolved Remake

@Odium I don't mean this in any negative way, but I've had the opposite experience.

I'm playing on Legendary and feel like it has never been easier. At first I just chalked it up to having played the campaign a million times in the past.

Then it stated clicking the small things.

Marines are much more accurate with more health. I kept the same pair alive the entire level of Silent Cartographer, for example. They're normall.all dead before the beach is cleared on other releases.

Plasma weapons have more punch and make quicker work of things like hunters.

Swords? Swords. Being able to not only use them but to also sword clash means you never lose a 1v1 sword fight unless you mess up.

The new assault rifle absolutely pulverizes. It fees like they buffed damage on it proportional to the number of rounds the magazines were reduced by. Which in turn gives it much higher DPS. And the SMG is a joy to shred with.

I agree on the hints.

Playing on Legendary and was just looking around enjoying the scenery while constantly getting pinged on where to go though. Needs an option to disable or atheist disable it on heroic and higher.

Had one CTD when interacting with the Silent Cartgrapher toward then end of the same level. Crashed and didn't get to see the cinematic.

Overall I've been having a blast though.

Re: Halo: Campaign Evolved Is Getting Some Surprising Sales Estimates For Xbox, PC & PS5

@Sol4ris I don't. The rating system thst has changed over the decades does. Where a 50 would originally mean it is average, literally in the middle of amazing and awful. Instead now it more follows the American schooling system where anything less than a 90 is looked down upon and 70s might as well not have ever been released. If you notice, this shift has occurred in every type of media including books, movies, and music.

Even ignoring the system, Avowed and Outer Worlds 2's medicoricty shows in theirnpoor sales acorss every platform they were released. Meanwhile those cream of the crop ones are selling like hotcakes with active engagement.

Baldur's Gate 3 currently has 45,000 online.
Cyberpunk 2077, a 6 year old has 40,000 people online on Steam at this very moment alone. more than a lot for multi-player games, and more than many games ever see in sales. Good RPS woth replayability keeps numbers and sales.

This is of course ignoring more recent, less replayable, hits like Expedition 33 that somehow still command daily player counts of 5500+, while Avowed and The Outer Worlds 2 sits at a paltry 350....

@kuu_nousee If the system should not be used then it should not be present.

The review system is there so that average Joe's can get a feel. No for people like you and I.

Having the flagship of your platform with an poor review score, on the platform itself, is not a good color for the average person. Let alone potential buyers that may be interested in the system. Add that to the best performing console to play Halo being a Playstation, none of it really adds appeal to buy an Xbox or Halo.

@Sol4ris
This isn't any different than it has always been. Just more obvious now. The games you list didn't do good on any platform.

Back in the day for every Witcher 2 you had 4 or 5 Two Worlds that didn't sell well.

For every Morrowind you had you had 2 Advent Risings.

For every Mass Effect you had 3 Alpha Protcols.

Good RPS sell well. Mediocre ones likes those you listed generally do not. They're okay games but not something you ever drop full price on.

More something you pick up on a whim from the bargain bin when you're in your local game store. Though they lose that engagement from the whole digital transition.

Re: Review: Halo: Campaign Evolved (Xbox) - A Stunning Remake That Becomes The Definitive Master Chief Campaign

InterceptorAlpha

@Fiendish-Beaver I can't agree.

If you're doing a remake you're taking the baggage of expectations of what should be there.

The Halo game feels feature incomplete without multi-player. People dogged ODST for the same thing when it came out. And that wasn't even a remake, it was a paraquel.

And FWIW, I certainly do hold Mass Effect 3's remake's lack of multi-player as a negative. Fell in love with it and knowing it wasn't coming back killed most my hype.

The irony of the comments here saying "Don't listen to people on Twitter, listen to me instead" is palpable.

Like it or not, there's a more even sample of people on Twitter than on sites like this.

And to take that a step further, Microsoft makes money in harvesting data. Do you really think small enough that you don't understand they've scraped tons of data on reactions and create responses based on that, to customer facing tools such as Twitter?
