A few days ago, it was revealed that TCG: Card Shop Simulator would be launching on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S and Xbox Game Pass on February 24th, and it feels like this could be a really fun time sink for the service.

The idea is to run your own card shop, of course, featuring the ability to design the store however you like, collect cards yourself, invite players to play games and take part in events, and ultimately expand your business over time.

TCG: Card Shop Simulator has been in early access on Steam since September of 2024, and in that time it's racked up an "Overwhelmingly Positive" rating based on over 30,000 user reviews, with 97% of all reviews being positive on there.

Here are just a few examples we've come across:

Shabushaburo on Steam: "As an owner of a TCG shop, I have to say the attention to realism is amazing. From the customers with wild price expectations, to the smelly ones, to the ability to chuck a bunch of empty boxes in the corner of your store, the immersion level is just so high. This whole week, all I could think about at work while I was pricing cards was how badly I wanted to get home so I could play this game and price some cards. Absolutely incredible work, dev. I'd love to see more updates to this game at some point."

Anarchy on Steam: "You have tons of things to do in this game and you will not be bored easily. From managing the inventory, Making the best layout as possible and also keeping up with the trends. The trends are random and it impacts the goods that will be in demand. This game also have a progression system where items and store expansions are unlocked as you level up. If restocking is not your thing you can automate the work with hired workers and jump in to the cash counter... or you could just hire workers to do everything and keep opening tcg packs all day like i did in hopes of finding that one card you can sell for generational wealth."

Get_Better_Kid on Steam: "Wow… just wow. This game is insanely fun and seriously addictive. Unlike a lot of other simulator games, it actually feels unique and has its own playstyle instead of copying others. The developers consistently release updates, which keeps the game improving and shows they genuinely care about it."

Very positive first impressions, then! We'll have to see how TCG: Card Shop Simulator fares when it arrives on Xbox Game Pass for Series X, Series S, PC and Xbox Cloud Gaming next Tuesday, and it's worth keeping in mind that it'll still be in a "Game Preview" state, which means it's still not out of early access just yet.

Here are some more details on the game along with screenshots:

Open your own local game store. Stock shelves with the latest booster packs, or crack them and collect the cards for yourself. Set your own prices, hire staff, host events, and expand your card shop.
