God Of War Creator Suggests Xbox Should Get Involved In Bluepoint Games Situation

We covered the news last night about how Sony had decided to shut down Bluepoint Games, and in the hours since the announcement was made, there's been plenty of chatter about whether Xbox could potentially step in at all.

Mostly notably, the God of War creator David Jaffe took to social media to suggest that Xbox boss Phil Spencer should offer to fund the next game from the Bluepoint staff as part of a "new team".

It is possible? Sure. Is it likely? We wouldn't suspect so. Xbox has already had its issues with closing down studios in the not too distant past, and as great as Bluepoint Games has proven to be over the years, this isn't a scenario we can see Xbox realistically pursuing any time soon. We'd love to be wrong though, Phil!

As you can imagine, there have been loads of suggestions about which games could be remade by a Bluepoint Games team, and their work on the Titanfall Xbox 360 port was certainly outstanding back in the day. Perhaps there is still a future for Bluepoint away from Sony, but it just doesn't feel like Xbox will be the destination at this point in time.
