@Questionable_Duck Microsoft has always been very careful with their wording. Xbox means Xbox One and Series.
360 means Xbox 360.
Original Xbox means original Xbox.
The saying Xbox library only guarantees the last two generations.
Unless of course you're implying this means they're bringing back the backwards compatibility program so the tons of omitted 360 and original Xbox games in peoples' libraries can now be played.
I'm which case I'd image they to be making a huge deal over it. Whereas this is a footnote.
It outputs to anything with a HDMI port and you can use a controller of your choice with it.
All while running higher performance when plugged in due to no power restrictions. You just have the option to run full power and flat line the battery when unplugged ASAP, unlike the Switch.
Essentially going to be like the, Xbox ROG Ally X.
It can only play Xbox games that have a PC version.
So example: You cannot play the Xbox version of Doom 2016 on the Xbox ROG Ally X. Because the Xbox version of it is not on PC. You have to play the steam version.
Lost Odyssey? You cannot even play that on the Xbox ROG Ally X because there is no PC version.
So unless they have a true emulation layer thay can play Xbox games, which I want to point out they said multiple times is not possible, even though anyone with a brain knows it is BS, the backwards compatibility will be limited to ownership of PC games that are also on Xbox.
Xbox controller gonna need TPM sensors, a gyro, and a pice cut, if they're gonna want me to replace my 8BitDo that already does all this, for way less.
The audacity of them raising the price of their stick drift prone controllers is hilarious.
One more nail in the coffin for Xbox.
Higher prices means now, more than ever, people are going to be more restrictive with their leisure funds. Therefore a person is more likely to get the platform they can play more games on. That is to say anything except Xbox.
This is essentially Xbox's path to being a cloud gaming platform and 3rd party publisher instead of making consoles.
Glad I upgraded my PC before everything got screwed over.
Back when Microsoft cared about usability. Having everything readily accessible instead of a corporate hell scape of UI that requires jumping through menu after menu.
If a mod was ever available to inject my Series X with this, I'd do it in a heartbeat.
Ever since NXE replaced blades, the UI has been going down hill.
Thankfully I can still do whatever I want on my PC for UI.
@Deshalu Well this is just untrue. PlayStation has tons of games you can play without ever connecting online. Pop cart or disc in, install what's needed off the disc, sans internet, and play.
Microsoft on the other hand is pretty threadbare on these.
Not holding my breath. Xbox controller have been absolutely abysmal this gen.
You can really tell they cheapest out, even in just how it feels in your hand. The launch Series controllers felt like flimsy Mad Katz you'd buy back in the day.
At this point. I'm just about to to buy a wireless PC controller with hall effects and gyro.

Re: Xbox Emphasises That Its Next-Gen Devices 'Aren't Locked To A Single Store'
@FatalBubbles Half truths aren't lies when it comes to businesses.
If they were, then they were lying when they saying BC was impossible on PC.
Re: Talking Point: Did Xbox Just Hint At A Hybrid Next-Gen Console?
The Xbox ROG Ally X is a hybrid device.
It outputs to anything with a HDMI port and you can use a controller of your choice with it.
All while running higher performance when plugged in due to no power restrictions. You just have the option to run full power and flat line the battery when unplugged ASAP, unlike the Switch.

Re: Xbox Emphasises That Its Next-Gen Devices 'Aren't Locked To A Single Store'
@FatalBubbles No. They said there would be a form. Which just as easily could be PC versions of the Xbox game with cross saves.
Whereas there are Xbox only games that have nice PC versions that cannot be played on PC.
Re: Xbox Emphasises That Its Next-Gen Devices 'Aren't Locked To A Single Store'
So the next Xbox is gonna be a PC.
That means no Xbox BC games unless the rumored emulation layer is also true.
Re: Opinion: It Feels Like Microsoft Is Planning A Huge Final Year Of Xbox Series X|S In 2026
Microsoft pushed me back to PC with all their BS. So really couldn't care less at this point.
Re: 'Subscription Price Increase' Tag Reportedly Added To Xbox Cloud Gaming Website
Raising pricing just as I'm migrating to PC Gamepass.
If they increase the price of it I'll drop it too.
Re: WD's New Special Edition Expansion Card Is Now Available For Xbox Series X|S
That is still goofily priced.
Re: Call Of Duty Goes Co-Op With Black Ops 7, Coming To Xbox Game Pass This Year
4 player, Splitscreen, Zombies or another skip.
Re: Indiana Jones 'The Order Of Giants' Expansion Whips Onto Xbox In September 2025
As long as Locus is still there. I'm in.
I'm hoping they did all the work before Todd's passing.
Re: Xbox Handheld Is Called 'ROG Xbox Ally', Releases Holiday 2025
@N00BiSH It runs Windows. So no.
Re: Xbox Is Officially Getting A Brand-New 'Plague Tale' Game In 2026
So judging from the name it is some kind of spin off.
Probably gonna pass on this unless it ends up being a proper sequel.
Re: Roundup: All The Xbox Reveals From The Future Games Show 'Summer Showcase' 2025
Some of these look like they'll be bangers on PC.
Re: Forza On PS5 Has 'Easily' Made $100 Million For Xbox, Says Analyst
@Coletrain If PC is an Xbox, no issues at all.
I've had a PC controller with gyro for atleast 10 years.
Re: Forza On PS5 Has 'Easily' Made $100 Million For Xbox, Says Analyst
@Coletrain Nothing PC hasn't been doing for ages. And PC is an Xbox according to Microsoft.
So yea, bring it to Xbox! Lol.
Re: Report: SEGA To Announce Persona 4 Remake At Xbox Games Showcase 2025
Everything except Eternal Punishment and Innocent Sin.
Those are the only Persona remakes I want.
Re: We Played Ubisoft's Doomed FPS During Its Final Day On Xbox
I had fun for a whole 5 minutes until it showed its Ubislop ways.
Was a slap to the face getting Splinter Cell stuff in the game to boot.
Re: Xbox Quietly Releases New 4TB Expansion Card For Series X|S
$430 is absolutely insane.
Kinda sad when even hardware is cheaper on PC.
Re: Our Predictions For The 2025 Xbox Games Showcase
Xbox controller gonna need TPM sensors, a gyro, and a pice cut, if they're gonna want me to replace my 8BitDo that already does all this, for way less.
Re: Xbox Has Reportedly 'Sidelined' Plans For A 2027 First-Party Handheld
To nobody's surprise.
Nadella hates hardware. Full stop.
Re: Report: Xbox Elite Series 3 Is Real, And It's Improved 'Leaps & Bounds' Over The Elite 2
@MaccaMUFC Unfortunately it does not work on Xbox. Though there is a version that does in wired mode.
I just really needed soemthing to replace my Elite Series 2.
This one has TMT sticks, four programmable buttons, and had a gyro.
Been excellent for shooter. You just can't aim thumstick as tightly.
Re: Report: Xbox Elite Series 3 Is Real, And It's Improved 'Leaps & Bounds' Over The Elite 2
Gonna be hard pressed to replaced my 8BitDo Ultimate 2.
Re: Xbox Insiders Can Now Remove Tiles On The Dashboard, And It Looks Weird
Nice to not have to see ads on my PC. Atleast I can block all of Microsoft's BS there.
Re: Talking Point: Will You Be Buying The 2025 Xbox Handheld From ASUS?
No.
0 interested in a handheld.
Re: The Witcher 3 Special Edition Xbox Controllers Now Available To Buy
Not buying another Xbox controller until a gyroscope is added and stick drift is fixed.
Especially an expensive elite controller.
Re: Ubisoft Working On New 'AAA' Rayman Game As Studio Begins Hiring
AAAA Rayman game, made on federal grants, by a skeleton crew, because nobody is applying to Ubisoft after everything they've been doing.
Re: Xbox's New Retro Classics Collection Features A PlayStation 1 Game
Makes me glad I still have access to the PC copy. The PS1 version was awful in comparison.
3 and Pirates Moon blew the socks off the both though.
Re: One Month On, Oblivion Remastered Has A Pretty Low Completion Rate On Xbox
Who does the main quest at the beginning?
That's the last you do before putting the game away.
I've spent a dozen hours just exploring random caves alone.
Re: Opinion: If Xbox Is 'Just' A Game Pass Machine, That's Still Enough For Me
If I need "just a Gamepass machine" my PC does it, cheaper.
Hard to justify a premium price for walled garden that requires you pay to even play online.
Meanwhile my PC lets play Xbox, Playstation, PC, and VR, all in the same place.
Re: Review: 8BitDo's Retro 87 Keyboard & Retro R8 Mouse Nail The Original Xbox Vibe
I love my. Solid built. Satisfying mechanical keys. Reminds me of a Commodore 64's "keyboard".
My daily drivers now.
Re: Talking Point: Would You Still Buy An Xbox At Microsoft's 2025 Prices?
Nope. I'd save the money and stick to my PC.

Microsoft on the other hand is pretty threadbare on these.
Just objective fact.
Re: Indiana Jones PS5 Fans Not Happy With Xbox's Physical Media Habits
@Fiddleroyolanda
Exactly. There's even a website dedicated to show all the console games that you can play without installs.
PlayStation and Nintendo are heads above Microsoft on this.
Re: Talking Point: What's The Best Game You've Played In 2025 So Far?
Cyberpunk 2077.
Re: Titanfall 3 Is Suddenly Being Rumoured Again, Said To Be 'Almost Complete'
If it is a live service extraction shooter as rumored, we can expect to see EA spool up a subsidiary with Tencent having 25% control.
Re: Switch 2 Emulation Highlights Future Challenges For Xbox Backwards Compatibility
Definitely highlights benefits of PC.
I can still play DOS games from the 90s on my Windows 11 PC. 🤣
Re: Microsoft Rewards 'Limits' Are Causing Frustration Across Xbox, PC & Mobile
They're doing as intended.
Make rewards so paltry most quit using.
And that in turn reduces the payouts they have to give, further.

Re: Sony-Owned 'Patapon' Is Coming To PS5, Switch And PC, But No Sign Of Xbox
@Krzzystuff That's already a thing.
I can play Helldivers 2, God Of War, etc, through my PC, from my Xbox with the app Moonlight.
As a matter of fact my Xbox is seeing a lot of use as just mirroring my PC...
Re: Xbox Game Pass Title Atomfall Looks 'Distractingly Last-Gen', Says Tech Review
What's wild is that it runs on last gen, but is 30fps on Series S.
Re: Xbox's Phil Spencer On Film & TV Shows: We're Gaining Confidence, We're Going To Do More
I'm sure Halo did wonders for their confidence. 🤣
Re: Using Your Xbox Controller To Type On Windows Just Got Easier
Steam controller still beats it out because of track pad and gyro though.
Really hoping the Elite Series 3 brings these to the table as I could see it being my go to moving forward.
Re: Capcom's Monster Hunter Wilds Is Off To An Absolutely Flying Start On Xbox
Really telling to see that the PC version is selling more than consoles combined.
Re: Hands On: Assassin's Creed Shadows Feels Like A Timely Refresh For The Series
Assassin's Creed lost me when they turned into a BS RPG.
This has nothing to bring me back.
Re: Xbox's New 'Adaptive Joystick' Is Officially Now Available To Buy
Looks very similar to a VR controller.
Re: Metro Fans Are 'In For Quite The Ride' As 4A Games Provides Update On Exodus Sequel
Hopefully has VR support.
After Metro Awakening, 2D Metro just feels bland.
