@Questionable_Duck Microsoft has always been very careful with their wording. Xbox means Xbox One and Series.

360 means Xbox 360.

Original Xbox means original Xbox.

The saying Xbox library only guarantees the last two generations.

Unless of course you're implying this means they're bringing back the backwards compatibility program so the tons of omitted 360 and original Xbox games in peoples' libraries can now be played.

I'm which case I'd image they to be making a huge deal over it. Whereas this is a footnote.

If they were, then they were lying when they saying BC was impossible on PC.

The Xbox ROG Ally X is a hybrid device.

It outputs to anything with a HDMI port and you can use a controller of your choice with it.

All while running higher performance when plugged in due to no power restrictions. You just have the option to run full power and flat line the battery when unplugged ASAP, unlike the Switch.

Essentially going to be like the, Xbox ROG Ally X.

It can only play Xbox games that have a PC version.

So example: You cannot play the Xbox version of Doom 2016 on the Xbox ROG Ally X. Because the Xbox version of it is not on PC. You have to play the steam version.

Lost Odyssey? You cannot even play that on the Xbox ROG Ally X because there is no PC version.

So unless they have a true emulation layer thay can play Xbox games, which I want to point out they said multiple times is not possible, even though anyone with a brain knows it is BS, the backwards compatibility will be limited to ownership of PC games that are also on Xbox.

@FatalBubbles No. They said there would be a form. Which just as easily could be PC versions of the Xbox game with cross saves.

Whereas there are Xbox only games that have nice PC versions that cannot be played on PC.

So the next Xbox is gonna be a PC.

That means no Xbox BC games unless the rumored emulation layer is also true.

Microsoft pushed me back to PC with all their BS. So really couldn't care less at this point.

Raising pricing just as I'm migrating to PC Gamepass.

If they increase the price of it I'll drop it too.

@MaccaMUFC Unfortunately it does not work on Xbox. Though there is a version that does in wired mode.

I just really needed soemthing to replace my Elite Series 2.

This one has TMT sticks, four programmable buttons, and had a gyro.

Been excellent for shooter. You just can't aim thumstick as tightly.

Gonna be hard pressed to replaced my 8BitDo Ultimate 2.

If I need "just a Gamepass machine" my PC does it, cheaper.

Hard to justify a premium price for walled garden that requires you pay to even play online.

Meanwhile my PC lets play Xbox, Playstation, PC, and VR, all in the same place.

Higher prices means now, more than ever, people are going to be more restrictive with their leisure funds. Therefore a person is more likely to get the platform they can play more games on. That is to say anything except Xbox.

This is essentially Xbox's path to being a cloud gaming platform and 3rd party publisher instead of making consoles.

Glad I upgraded my PC before everything got screwed over.

I called this back when they bought them up. Knew they'd not renew the contract because EA.

Back when Microsoft cared about usability. Having everything readily accessible instead of a corporate hell scape of UI that requires jumping through menu after menu.

If a mod was ever available to inject my Series X with this, I'd do it in a heartbeat.

Ever since NXE replaced blades, the UI has been going down hill.

Thankfully I can still do whatever I want on my PC for UI.

@Deshalu Well this is just untrue. PlayStation has tons of games you can play without ever connecting online. Pop cart or disc in, install what's needed off the disc, sans internet, and play.

Microsoft on the other hand is pretty threadbare on these.

Just objective fact.

Exactly. There's even a website dedicated to show all the console games that you can play without installs.

PlayStation and Nintendo are heads above Microsoft on this.

You can really tell they cheapest out, even in just how it feels in your hand. The launch Series controllers felt like flimsy Mad Katz you'd buy back in the day.

At this point. I'm just about to to buy a wireless PC controller with hall effects and gyro.

I can play Helldivers 2, God Of War, etc, through my PC, from my Xbox with the app Moonlight.

As a matter of fact my Xbox is seeing a lot of use as just mirroring my PC...

What's wild is that it runs on last gen, but is 30fps on Series S.

I'm sure Halo did wonders for their confidence. 🤣

Steam controller still beats it out because of track pad and gyro though.

Really hoping the Elite Series 3 brings these to the table as I could see it being my go to moving forward.
