Insomniac Shares Cold-Hearted Response To The Chance Of Spider-Man 2 Coming To Xbox

With the likes of Helldivers 2 now out and thriving on Xbox platforms, some fans may have gotten their hopes up at other big PlayStation games potentially moving over - but it's probably best not to expect Sony's big story-driven titles to head to Xbox anytime soon.

In fact, one X user posed that very question to the Spider-Man and Sunset Overdrive dev Insomniac Games over the weekend. In a now-deleted query on the social media platform, a fan asked the team if they'd bring Spider-Man 2 to Xbox - to which Insomniac responded with a pretty cold-hearted answer; which is thankfully still up on X for all to see:

Well, that's that then, at least for now. A lot can change in this industry in a short amount of time (who saw Halo moving to PlayStation just a few years ago?!) - so never say never, but it looks like Sony and in this case Insomniac don't have any plans for Spider-Man on Xbox anytime soon.

Of course, one way Xbox and its users may be able to get around this in the near-future is with the advent of a new system that can access multiple storefronts. Indeed, Insomniac's two Spider-Man games are on the likes of Steam - and with the way Microsoft's next-gen Xbox is sounding, fans should be able to access the Valve storefront on that system, if and when it comes out. We've got an interesting few years ahead of us, folks!
