Re: PlayStation Boss Heavily Criticises Xbox For 'Inadquate' Call Of Duty Offer

EvilSilentFrame

I really don’t think MS is trying to take away the series from PlayStation. It’s just my interpretation of the situation, I know many on here feel differently, but I’d rather MS acquire Activision Blizzard than somebody like Google or Amazon. As somebody who doesn’t play COD, I see these two companies arguing over the series as pointless. I understand the series is huge and brings in tons of cash, but I’m done with the finger pointing. They need to start acting like adults again. I know they mentioned they predicted the deal to close sometime next year, I don’t think it will but I’m hoping the deal ends sooner. It’s time to move on.

Re: Cyberpunk 2077 Is Finally Giving Up On Xbox One And PS4

EvilSilentFrame

Not surprised they are leaving last gen behind. I know those who haven’t moved onto them he current gen will be disappointed. There’s still many out there who haven’t found the new systems yet, but it’s only a matter of time before other studios start ditching last gen as well. In the end, it’s for the best.

Re: Xbox's 'Approach' With Starfield Is Leading To More ActiBlizz Scrutiny

EvilSilentFrame

@Grumblevolcano ah I see. I’m going to have to look up that “legacy” thing because I don’t remember that. I just remembered what SplooshDmg mentioned on here about a “case by case basis.”

I think I remember early on during this acquisition Activision said if the deal doesn’t go through that it would hurt their stocks or something similar to that. Would it be bad enough that they potentially could go under?

Re: Reaction: Will Xbox Follow PlayStation In Raising Console Prices?

EvilSilentFrame

I think these big corporations eventually lose grasp of reality when it comes to consumers and what they want. It takes the consumers to show these companies through their wallets that their company has lost touch. Nintendo, Sega, Microsoft, and Sony have all been through it before in the past. Sony is going through it again. They’ll figure it out when consumers jump ship and go to their competitors. It’s what makes companies and competition better.

Re: Reaction: Will Xbox Follow PlayStation In Raising Console Prices?

EvilSilentFrame

I don’t think Xbox will raise its price. Both Microsoft and Sony were waiting for the other to announce the price of their system before the consoles were coming out. They both waited pretty much to the bitter end.

Sony raising the price of the PlayStation 5 I personally believe is a gift to Xbox. It doesn’t always happen, but looking back on the different console generations, many of the consoles that were more expensive ended up doing poorly in that generation. Now PlayStation 5 didn’t start off more expensive and they surly have built up hype for their system. I believe they will be fine, but it does give Xbox an edge in the markets where they have the more affordable system.

Re: Microsoft Defends Activision Blizzard Deal With Eyebrow-Raising Statement

EvilSilentFrame

I never really thought of COD as “unique,” but it is a major selling game. After the quotes came out on Sony’s response, I don’t know what else Microsoft could have said about it.

I understand Sony’s concerns, but after all the paying for advertisement rights, exclusives and time exclusives on the PlayStation consoles over the years… they don’t have room to talk. Kind of convenient it’s all said after the Bungie acquisition is done now.

Re: PlayStation Seems Worried About Xbox Owning Call Of Duty

EvilSilentFrame

I was never a fan of COD but I can see Sony’s concern on this. COD is definitely huge, there’s no denying that. It wouldn’t matter to me which console it ended up on as I never play the games. Having COD as part of the Xbox brand and right into gamepass can be very tempting for gamers that don’t necessarily have a favorite console. This can tip the scale in Xbox’s favor over PlayStation.

Though I can see why PlayStation would worry as they make a lot of their money on third party sales and their big budget games. If players switched over to Xbox, it would take away future game sales from PlayStation’s big budgets. I think PlayStation will be fine but I can’t say I feel sorry for them. They’ve played dirty for years, it’s time to play nice and get along. I know Phil said he wants to keep COD on PlayStation but things can always change. PlayStation needs to behave.

When you’re number one, the only way to go from there is down. That goes for both PlayStation and COD. Either one can fall from the top spot they’ve been in.

Re: Xbox Exec Talks The Struggles Of Adding Games To Backwards Compatibility

EvilSilentFrame

@Banjo- I replayed Jet Set Radio about a year ago on Xbox. The controls were a bit dated but once I got back in the groove, I really enjoyed the game again. Always loved that series and was so disappointed when they didn’t come out with a third…. All these years later and there’s talks of Sega making a free to play type of Jet Set. Im not sure what to think of that yet. Not a fan of buy this and buy that. I’d rather just buy the game and have everything for it.

Glad to hear Sonic Origins is good so far. Yes I don’t get why CD would have VHS damage. That should have been something they could have fixed, but it is Sega. If they fixed everything and made it 100 percent perfect, then there’s nothing to fix in the future to repackage and resell again in the next 5-10 years.

Re: Xbox Series X|S Has Outsold PS5 In Japan, Again

EvilSilentFrame

Yes, if there were PS5’s in stock, they would be selling more than Xbox, but I’m impressed with the numbers Xbox is putting up. The fact that they are selling in Japan at all is impressive. Xbox is turning things around this generation. Very nice job Xbox!

Re: Xbox Exec Talks The Struggles Of Adding Games To Backwards Compatibility

EvilSilentFrame

@Banjo- yes, I knew you would agree on Project Zero 1&2. Looking back at some of the games that did become backwards compatible, I’m surprised those two did not. As for JSRF, I wasn’t surprised. It had music license that was going to be tricky to get around. That was the game that got me to buy an original Xbox. I was a huge Sega fan and saw how much they were supporting Xbox. So I went with Xbox.

How is Sonic Origins?

Re: Hands On: Resident Evil 7 Is Impressive All Around On Xbox Series X

EvilSilentFrame

@JayJ the older games had gore too, but it was more of a fantasy gore where 7 was over the top realistic gore. I love the older games. I like the slower paced horror of shooting zombies, and the puzzle aspects of the games. With 7, the molded weren’t a terrible enemy. They were creepy especially the first few times you run into one, I just wanted to shoot zombies again.

The Baker family is terrifying. Jack chasing you around reminded me of leather face just gunning for you. He was truly terrifying. Marguerite was really creepy but I’ll never be the same after that boss fight of her, very disturbing. Lucas setting up puzzles to figure out how to survive reminded me a bit of “Saw.” I liked his section as it brought in more of the puzzle aspects that had been missing for some time now.

I agree about the older number games including 0. I liked those games a lot and Code Veronica. I’m glad capcom started remaking them, and I hope they continue to do so while continuing to make new entries into the series.

Re: Hands On: Resident Evil 7 Is Impressive All Around On Xbox Series X

EvilSilentFrame

@JayJ Texas Chainsaw Massacre is a good example to compare to this game. I’ve been saying that as well ever since I played it.

I wasn’t a big fan of 7. I appreciate that they brought back horror to the RE series as it wasn’t there in the past few entrees. 7 came out and was actually creepy and unsettling. It was a little too graphic for me. I love horror, and RE7 isn’t a bad game at all. I might have liked it a bit more if they toned it down a little on the gore. I don’t know if I’ll replay it now that there’s an updated version. I will for 2 and 3, but I would need something else to jump pack into 7 at this moment.
