The Xbox Summer Sale 2022 (also known as the Ultimate Game Sale and Super Game Sale) is almost upon us, during which a significant number of Xbox digital titles are expected to be discounted for a period of around ten days to two weeks. The official date of the sale hasn't been announced at the time of writing, but we've provided some educated guesses below as to when we think it might be available.
When Is The Xbox Summer Sale 2022?
As mentioned above, the date of the Xbox Summer Sale 2022 hasn't been revealed yet. However, based on past Summer Sales, we're expecting it to be released in the near future.
Last year's sale took place from July 23 to August 6, with over 500 deals included for Xbox games and add-ons. The year before, it began a bit later on August 14 and lasted until August 24. Here's a list of dates from previous years:
- Xbox Summer Sale 2021: July 23 - August 6
- Xbox Summer Sale 2020: August 14 - August 24
- Xbox Summer Sale 2019: July 16 - July 29
- Xbox Summer Sale 2018: July 19 - July 30
- Xbox Summer Sale 2017: June 30 - July 10
- Xbox Summer Sale 2016: July 5 - July 11
With these dates in mind, it seems there's a high chance the Xbox Summer Sale will arrive in July 2022, most likely towards the end of the month, although there's a small possibility it could drop in late June or at some point in August.

Rarely do I ever buy a game at full price anymore. Love games at a discount, so bring on the Xbox Summer Sale!… though many games are already on sale lol.
@EvilSilentFrame Same. One of the reasons I went digital is access to sales. Ironically, recently digital stays expensive and physical goes on deeper sales, but, that was the goal. The deeper the sales, the better. I don't spend less, I just buy more....
Who's ready for 6 versions of gta v with varying shark cards? How you can you forget the plethora of ubishyte games, ranging from assassin's creed to assassin's creed and farcry to farcry! You know who else is coming to the party? The Bundles! Resident evil remake bundles, metro bundles, tomb raider bundles, they'll all be there!
Okay, in all seriousness, this is better than nothing. How about some BIG discounts on pre-orders or gpu.

There are so many sales on Xbox that I honestly can’t imagine there being any surprises in the summer sale.
I’m not expecting any surprises from the summer sale as it’s always the same old games that have been on sale at the same discount. How about discounting games that have released this year or any games that haven’t been in the sale before? I honestly just want Oddworld Strangers Wrath with 50% off.
