Corsair Cove Is Available Today With Xbox Game Pass, And Here's What The Reviews Are Saying 1

We've got our final Xbox Game Pass addition of the month today, and It takes the shape of Corsair Cove, which is joining PC Game Pass.

To be completely honest with you, we didn't really know much about this one, other than it's a pirate-themed strategy game, and is only available to the PC crowd.

It's currently rocking a 'Generally Favourable' 79 average rating on Metacritic. So, how about we take a good ol' gander wat what the reviews have to say about it?

SECTOR.sk (9/10)

"Corsair Cove is not only one of the most successful pirate-themed games, but it is also undoubtedly one of the best strategy games of recent years. It manages to appeal even to players who do not specifically seek out this genre."

Destructoid (8.5/10)

"Corsair Cove is a charming pirate-themed city-builder that pairs satisfying island management with gorgeous environmental design and lively worldbuilding. While repetitive naval encounters hold it back, its personality, vertical island-building, and rewarding progression make it an enjoyable adventure that's easy to sink dozens of hours into."

PC Gamer (8.2/10)

"Corsair Cove is, broadly, an absolute snack. It's got Sea of Thieves' vibrant colour palette, with lots of flourishes evocative of more fantastical pirate fiction, like Hook and Pirates of the Caribbean. There's joy to be had simply soaking it all in, studying the eccentric buildings with all of their cute little details. My personal favourite is the pig being spun around by a pirate standing on a tavern table—neither of them ever tire."

CGMagazine (8/10)

"Corsair Cove is a must-play for city-building and strategy game enthusiasts alike; and it won’t take long to see yourself completely hooked."

Try Hard Guides (7/10)

"Corsair Cove is a great city-building game for those who like the actual act of building up their town, watching it grow and admiring the shape their labor takes, aided in no small part by its unique pirate theme and how it forces you to build atop and along towering cliffs. Mechanically, however, it can be a bit understimulating, being rather easy for veteran city builders to handle and gravely oversimplifying its ship combat and exploration mechanics."

GameBlast (7/10)

"Corsair Cove has identity, impeccable artistic visuals, a fun base, and enormous potential, but it needs to fix critical bugs to truly shine."
