Re: Fatal Frame: Mask Of The Lunar Eclipse Unveils Story Trailer As Xbox Pre-Orders Go Live

EvilSilentFrame

@Banjo- the battery is a good idea, it should have came with the system’s pad if they knew the one they had in there had such a short charge. Nintendo has done a better job with the Switch this time around.

@HarmanSmith After playing the first two, I kept thinking the first one was scarier than the second. It wasn’t till after I went through the first one again I realized it wasn’t as scary as the second game. Crimson Butterfly was so good, I went through and unlocked all the endings. I don’t do that on every game, but this one I couldn’t get enough of. Also completing the ghost list. I didn’t complete the ghost list with Maiden of the Black Water. I liked the game but it didn’t come close to Crimson Butterfly for me.

Re: Fatal Frame: Mask Of The Lunar Eclipse Unveils Story Trailer As Xbox Pre-Orders Go Live

EvilSilentFrame

@Banjo- this is the first I heard of a high capacity battery for the Wii U pad. I still have my Wii U but I don’t think I’ll be buying it. Had I known about it back then, I probably would have got it because playing Maiden of the Black Water was tough. I like to explore every inch in these games. I take my time and try and find everything. Because of that, I spend more hours playing some of these games and the battery life on the Wii U pad was causing me to not want to play the game. Once it released on Xbox and I could sit there and not have to worry about the battery, it was a much more enjoyable experience.

@HarmanSmith my copy of the first two games on Xbox are some of my most precious gaming items as well. There was just something about Crimson Butterfly that made it stand out. A compelling story, interesting characters, and unfortunate rituals. Truly creepy and unsettling. Maybe it’s wrong I think if it as precious? LOL

Re: Fatal Frame: Mask Of The Lunar Eclipse Unveils Story Trailer As Xbox Pre-Orders Go Live

EvilSilentFrame

@Banjo- I didn’t know the developer said the same thing about Mask of the Lunar Eclipse. That gives me hope for the original trilogy.

I too enjoyed Maiden of the Black Water more on Xbox than Wii U. I can appreciate what they tried to do on the Wii U to make the control pad more “camera” like, but the battery died so fast. The improvements on the Xbox version were very noticeable.

Re: Fatal Frame: Mask Of The Lunar Eclipse Unveils Story Trailer As Xbox Pre-Orders Go Live

EvilSilentFrame

@HarmanSmith yes I believe they are on the PS3 store, or at least that’s what the fan site I was looking at was suggesting. I have the first two on Xbox. I have the third one on PS2. Crimson Butterfly is my favorite closely followed by the first one.

If Mask of the Lunar Eclipse sells well, maybe they will bring over the other three. I’m hoping they are already working on doing just that, but since they haven’t announced those projects, they are going to say there are no plans. Horror games are big right now and Koei Tecmo would miss their chance if they don’t take this opportunity.

Re: Fatal Frame: Mask Of The Lunar Eclipse Unveils Story Trailer As Xbox Pre-Orders Go Live

EvilSilentFrame

@HarmanSmith I’m hopeful for the first 3 games in some form as well. I saw on a site a few weeks back, they were saying Koei Tecmo had no plans to bring over the first three games. It was a fan made site so I’m hoping they got their information wrong. I would be happy with just porting it over. They wouldn’t need to update anything for me, I’ll take it as is as long as we get them on current platforms.

Re: Resident Evil 4 Remake Preview Details New Mechanics & Sidequest Content

EvilSilentFrame

@Kaloudz It is more of a unique game and I feel bad for those who were developing the game. You put your heart and soul into what you do and then have to stop? It can be devastating.

At this point I’m just hoping we get a remake. Nothing is confirmed yet so it’s all speculation due to the fan made project being ordered to stop development. If we do get the remake of CV, I don’t want them to change Chris around and have his section of the game like they did with Village and the DLC of 7. I don’t want a CoD type CV. I don’t play those games. Never liked them. I’m hoping they would keep his section more true to the original CV.

Re: Resident Evil 4 Remake Preview Details New Mechanics & Sidequest Content

EvilSilentFrame

@Kaloudz @Banjo- I too don’t want them to change anything with the story or Alfred’s character in CV. I wouldn’t mind if they kept the same level design, puzzles, enemy designs…. I just absolutely loved that game. Just update the graphics and the gameplay for todays standards. I even liked the cheesy sound effects in the game. I know many didn’t like Steve, but even he didn’t bother me. From start to finish, I just loved it. I also like that it’s a continuation to both Clair and Chris’ stories. If they give it the same amount of time and attention they gave to the RE2 remake, I think it could be potentially one of their best games.

As for the fan made project, I don’t know how far along it was. There’s some gameplay on YouTube to be found on it so it was far enough along for them to post what they did on the project. I think there’s also footage of the fan made remake of RE 1. I’m just keeping my fingers crossed Capcom canceled those projects because they are making their own versions of those remakes.

Re: Resident Evil 4 Remake Preview Details New Mechanics & Sidequest Content

EvilSilentFrame

@Banjo- @Kaloudz I think they are making a remake of Code Veronica and I don’t mind waiting. Capcom canceled fan project remakes of both Veronica and the original RE. They did that with fan made projects for 2 and 3 and then made those remakes themselves. So if history repeats itself, we should be getting those remakes as well.

I also wonder if they skipped CV remake due to Alfred’s character. Probably needed to figure out how to handle that so it true to the original source material but also treading lightly not to make a huge wave of controversy.

Re: Hi-Fi RUSH Has Xbox Boss Thinking About Jet Set Radio Future (Again)

EvilSilentFrame

I would love Jet Set Radio Future to be backwards compatible or been rereleased in a remaster. I bought the original Xbox because of Jet Set Radio Future. I had the Jet Set Radio (or Jet Grind Radio as it was called here in the states) on the Dreamcast. Then when that system failed, I needed a new system. SEGA was supporting all the systems but when I saw JSRF was exclusive to Xbox, I was sold. I absolutely loved it and actually been thinking of pulling my old Xbox out to play it. I’m hoping Phil can pull some strings and get SEGA to do something with the game.

Re: 'Hi-Fi RUSH' Has Us Mega Excited For More Xbox Shadow Drops In Future

EvilSilentFrame

I really liked it being a shadow drop. Sometimes Xbox shows games so far out and all we hear from different sources is how this game is delayed and that game is delayed. As a society, people love the negative and make up delays for games that don’t have release dates. With a shadow drop, there weren’t those negative rumors. Not every game needs to be a shadow drop, but I wouldn’t mind some of the other ones being closer to completion after being announced.

Re: Here's The Complete List Of Xbox Achievements In GoldenEye 007

EvilSilentFrame

LOL I actually laughed at some of the names of the achievements on the list and how to get them. The achievements might be a bummer for some of them since there’s no online play. Not everybody has somebody to play with on the couch next to them. So those who unlock everything might have a second controller with nobody playing just to get the achievements.

Re: Resident Evil 4 Remake Isn't Launching On Xbox One, But Retailers Are Advertising It Anyway

EvilSilentFrame

@itslarryyo S is cheap compared to many of the systems out right now, though there are some out there that have to watch their money as gaming is more of a “luxury.” Though I have a Series X, I can look at somebody like my kids. They both have a One and don’t have any desire to upgrade to the newer ones. They’ve had the option to, they just don’t. Mostly because they like the free to play games like Fortnight and spend the money they would have spent to upgrade to a new system on something stupid like skins. I’ll never understand their mentality on that. I wanted the better quality so when it was available, I went out and got it.

Re: How Would You Grade The Xbox Series X|S Generation So Far?

EvilSilentFrame

I gave it a B. I’m happy with the generation at the moment. I know Xbox struggled this year and didn’t get out the games many were expecting, but I’ve had fun this year. I didn’t play Grounded much before it fully launched and I’ve been having fun playing that with my kid. Normally that’s not my kind of game but being able to play the game with my son is a total blast. I’m looking forward to what Xbox brings in the future.

Re: Xbox Confirms Exclusivity Plans For Three Upcoming Bethesda Games

EvilSilentFrame

They are never going to make everybody happy. Make certain games multiplat, some people are unhappy. Make certain games exclusive, others are unhappy. I know it sucks when a game you want to play doesn’t come to the platform of your choice. Sometimes it doesn’t workout like that. It has happened to all of us.

I think most of us were prepared for Starfield and Redfall to be exclusive. Still not sure if Indiana Jones will be exclusive yet. I am curious to see the game though.

Re: Amazon Games To Publish Next Tomb Raider, First Details Revealed

EvilSilentFrame

I too find it strange they are going with Amazon to publish. Glad to see it’s multiplatform, but odd with Amazon.

I like the Tomb Raider franchise and though the reboot was good, it didn’t feel like Tomb Raider to me. Tomb Raider was a single player game where you felt completely alone. Areas to explore, puzzles to solve, and the occasional animal to fight. What I wasn’t fond of in the reboot was wave after wave of human enemies. For the new one they already said “plenty of enemies to defeat” so I personally am not getting my hopes up for this one. No offense to those who loved the reboot, it was a good game and I liked it but I didn’t love it. I was hoping for them to find a balance between old and new. They still might be able to find that balance, but after reading that, I am not getting excited for this. I’ll just have to wait and see.

Re: Talking Point: Should Xbox Start Doing Its Own 'Nintendo Direct' Style Showcases?

EvilSilentFrame

I would love more shows from them throughout the year. Yes they didn’t show at the game awards. Waiting till E3 to see something new or updates on games takes forever. More shows would be awesome, but they need to be careful not to show too much or too soon. They had some CGI trailers for many games before the series systems launched. Because many of those games didn’t come out, many feel like Xbox is bad at managing games or that they were delayed. Keeping the cards close and revealing them at appropriate times in multiple shows a year would excite a lot of gaming fans.

Re: Phil Spencer: Sony Wants To 'Make Xbox Smaller' To Protect PlayStation's Dominance

EvilSilentFrame

Of course PlayStation is going to try and protect its market lead. Yes they do it different than Xbox and Spencer pointed it out. They don’t bring their games day and date to PC and they don’t put their games day and date on their subscription services. They don’t have to. They want to sell the games and that’s fine. Just a different strategy from Xbox.

The issue most of us have is the games Sony has been playing to try and get the Activision acquisition deal blocked. Claiming Xbox is going to do the things PlayStation already does. Insisting CoD will be exclusive when Xbox has been on record saying they weren’t going to pull it from PlayStation. Those are the issues many of us have with this situation. I’m hoping now that it’s going to end up in the courts, Ryan and Spencer can start acting like adults, but I’m not holding my breath on that.

Re: Xbox's Phil Spencer Explains How Call Of Duty Will Work On Nintendo

EvilSilentFrame

Very nice move Microsoft. This is a huge win for Nintendo fans. They’ve been missing out on CoD. Who knows what they will get next year. As the article mentioned if the deal closes in June of 2023, the release for Nintendo will be later. Getting them all out at the same time in the future will be a challenge but I think the team can do it.

As for Sony, I think they were trying to come up with another excuse for the 10 year contract before this news with Nintendo was released. It’s going to be harder to argue but I’m sure Sony will come up with something to complain about.

Re: Pick One: Which Is The Best 3D Sonic Game To Date?

EvilSilentFrame

I didn’t realize there were that many 3D Sonic games. I haven’t played a lot of them, but I do remember getting a Dreamcast and being blown away by Sonic Adventure. It might not seem like a big deal now but at the time, it was so different from all other sonic games and to see the graphics from the PS, Saturn, and N64 to this… I was all into Sonic Adventure.

Re: Soapbox: Tomb Raider Deserves A 'Resident Evil-Style' Remake

EvilSilentFrame

@Banjo- yes, I agree she was contradictory. Though I think the new games were good and I think should have been a brand new IP. Her character was completely different from the older games. I don’t mean just looks. The personality traits, wielding double pistols, exploring old tombs to find relics and artifacts. I didn’t recognize the character or the series. After I was done, I was left wanting some of that old Tomb Raider feeling that the new games didn’t bring.
