Re: Poll: Are You Enjoying 'The Texas Chain Saw Massacre' On Xbox Game Pass?

EvilSilentFrame

@Kaloudz I don’t know about cloud specs as I don’t really do much cloud gaming. I tried it once about a year or two ago and didn’t like it. I had issues then with the game I was playing and the controls were very delayed. That was Viva Piñata, so controls weren’t that important on delay, but a game like Texas Chainsaw Massacre, delayed controls would be your death. But again, that was about a year or two ago. Maybe the cloud experience is much better than the one I had.

Re: Poll: Are You Enjoying 'The Texas Chain Saw Massacre' On Xbox Game Pass?

EvilSilentFrame

I’ve played quite a few matches. I haven’t had any issues getting into a game as others have mentioned. I thought the game was pretty good. I love horror games and movies. The original Texas Chainsaw Massacre was the scariest movie when I saw it for the first time. I remember being so scared. Well… that carried over into the game. It got so intense that my watch alarmed me about my heart rate going up lol. It’s claustrophobic, gritty, and over the top at times. Not the greatest game ever, but I’ve been enjoying it so far.

Re: The Texas Chain Saw Massacre Is Available Today With Xbox Game Pass (August 18)

EvilSilentFrame

The game is decent. Played a few rounds of it. They polished the game much more than Friday the 13th. It’s fun, but at the moment I prefer Friday. Maybe because I understand it better. Though Friday was very buggy at launch, I liked the feel and the concept of the game. I haven’t run into any bugs yet in Texas, I just don’t fully know what to do yet. I’ll get there though.

Re: Talking Point: What's Your Favourite Horror Movie Adaptation On Xbox?

EvilSilentFrame

For me it’s Friday the 13th. I’m not much of a multiplayer gamer, but I thought they did a great job with the game. Yes there were tons of bugs but I was able to look past that. The team spent a lot of time on their research and put in so much detail from the movies into the game. When playing, it felt like a Friday the 13th movie. It’s a shame that the legal troubles of the license got in the way because I think they were onto something that could have been better.

Re: Capcom Coy On Future Resident Evil Remakes, But Discussions Are Underway

EvilSilentFrame

I’m for the remakes of these games. I respect those who just want Capcom to focus on new games, but these remakes help fund the new games. The remakes don’t cost as much as the newer games. They already have a general idea what they are going to do in terms of characters, story, environments, enemies…. The younger generation do not want to play the old ones with the tank controls. They want pretty graphics and better controls. This is a way to introduce them to the franchise. The remakes sell well and help fund the new RE games. I’m happy they are doing both. It wasn’t that long ago Capcom wasn’t doing well.

I personally want them to remake CV next. Out of all the games in the series, it’s the one that could benefit the most from the remake treatment.

Re: Friday The 13th Returns To 'Top Paid' Xbox Charts As Price Gets Slashed

EvilSilentFrame

@Kaloudz I totally agree. The game had so much potential. If they had a bigger budget and the licensing wasn’t in the courts, I think the game would have done so much better. You can tell they really were fans of the franchise and put a lot of detail from the movies into the game. I’m looking forward to their next game but will continue playing this till December 2024.

Re: SEGA & Bungie Included In Huge List Of Companies Xbox Has Considered Acquiring

EvilSilentFrame

I rather they would have gone for SEGA, but I understand why they are going for ABK. I’ve always been such a fan of SEGA. That’s what brought me over to the Xbox. When the Dreamcast failed, I watched to see who Sega would support. Though they supported all three of the console makers, I went with Xbox because of the games SEGA was putting onto the system. I’d love for SEGA to be a part of Xbox. It would be like SEGA is back in the console space.

Re: Friday The 13th Game Being Delisted As Rumours Of A New Entry Circulate

EvilSilentFrame

I know this game had its issues and was extremely buggy but I loved this game. I’m not even a multiplayer gamer but there was something about this game that did it for me. The developers really did their research on the maps and the little details they put in. It felt closer to the movies than most video game/movie adaptations. I’m sad to hear it will be delisted for new buyers but I’m looking forward to Gun Media’s next game. I did not hear anything about a new Friday the 13th from a new developer. Hope that turns out to be a true rumor.

Re: Talking Point: What Are Your Plans For The Xbox Games Showcase 2023?

EvilSilentFrame

I’ll probably be watching it on my phone at home. Depends how the weekend goes. The day before is my oldest’s graduation party from High School so I might still be busy cleaning up after the party. I’m keeping my expectations low for the showing. I don’t want to end up disappointed. I’m looking forward to it, but not expecting to be blown away.

Re: Hang On A Minute, Is Xbox ANZ Teasing Psychonauts 3?

EvilSilentFrame

I like many others don’t think it’s Psychonauts 3. Not yet at least. They’ve been wanting to work on other ideas they had that have been sitting on the back burner. If it’s anything Psychonauts related, maybe it’s the VR game they released years ago and updated it for Xbox?

Re: Reaction: PlayStation's Showcase Was A Win For Xbox, Whichever Way You Slice It

EvilSilentFrame

There was so much hype going into this event. Everybody thought since it had been 18 months since the last one, that Sony was going to come out swinging. There were tons of fake lists online of games to be at the event. Everybody’s expectations went through the roof. I think everybody needs to temper their expectations from Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo. It’s taking so long to make games now. We need to be more realistic. Yes, it wasn’t the best show Sony had. They didn’t show much first party at all. I’m sure the games will come. I’m being patient for Microsoft to release their games. It’s my platform of choice. I’m excited for their show but I’m also keeping my expectations in check.

Re: Xbox Has Much Weaker Brand Momentum Than PlayStation, Claims New Sony Document

EvilSilentFrame

Looking at this with a non-biased view, PlayStation as a brand would be bigger than Xbox. I love my Xbox and it’s my console of choice but I can clearly see where Xbox falls behind PlayStation when it comes to brand momentum, but I don’t think PlayStation is higher than Nintendo. This is just my observation, but looking at things like sales, longevity, games/consoles trending, recognizable characters/IPs… Nintendo would have the higher brand momentum. No dis to PlayStation, but I think their chart is a bit off in their favor.

Re: Rumour: Microsoft Won't Stick To '12-Month Window' For Xbox Games Showcase 2023

EvilSilentFrame

When they did the 12 month window showing, I actually liked it. I thought it was a good idea, but then Xbox couldn’t get the games out in that window of time. It gave Xbox haters more ammo to go after Xbox and their fans.

Going forward I’d like to see them show us more on the games they already announced, and not reveal anything new until it’s closer to completion. Maybe something massive they can announce a little early, but some of the games they announced in 2020 were so far out and even still are years away. I’m looking forward to this years show. Hopefully they find a formula that works for them.

Re: Reaction: Zelda Reviews & Redfall Woes Put The Pressure On Xbox Exclusive Starfield

EvilSilentFrame

I’m looking forward to both Zelda and Starfield, but I’m not going to compare them to each other. They’re two totally different games, styles, platforms, genres…. I get it, people are going to compare them. I just want them both to be the best versions of themselves that they can be. Congratulations to Nintendo on the high praises Zelda is getting. Hopefully I’ll find some time this weekend to check it out.

Re: Game Pass Title Hollow Knight: Silksong Has Been Delayed

EvilSilentFrame

@Green-Bandit I never gave it a thought that MS announce those two games early to acquire talent on them. It’s an interesting way of thinking of it. But it seems like anything MS has announced and didn’t give a date, I’ve read posts from people online saying the game has been delayed. They don’t have proof or anything. Just claiming the game got delayed.

Xbox is in a tough spot because after acquiring all the studios they did, people are expecting to see games come out. But right before they acquired the studios, most of them released a game. So it takes time to get the games ready. Then COVID put everything further behind. I personally wasn’t expecting a lot of these games till 2025, but I think MS is feeling the pressure and we are getting half baked games in the process. It’s not helping Xbox’s image.

Re: EU 'Expected' To Approve Xbox Activision Blizzard Deal Next Week

EvilSilentFrame

@Widey85 that would be nice if we didn’t have to wait till the 22nd. It’s kind of exhausting all this waiting. I think many of us just want to know their answer.

I heard an interview with this guy online who claims he knows a lot about the different acquisition laws. He was saying if the EU approves it, MS can close on the deal. Though the CMA denied it, they didn’t deny the console part. They don’t have to wait for the FTC’s decision. Not sure how true all this is, but maybe there’s still some life left in this acquisition.

Re: Game Pass Title Hollow Knight: Silksong Has Been Delayed

EvilSilentFrame

@Green-Bandit I agree with everything you said. It seems MS can’t catch a break. I’ve been saying for awhile they should wait till the games are closer to completion before announcing them. Even games like Perfect Dark or Fable, games that don’t have release dates yet, people are online trolling that the games got delayed. It’s “cool” to hate on Xbox.

Re: Microsoft Reckons It 'Lost The Worst Generation To Lose' With Xbox One

EvilSilentFrame

@Grumblevolcano very true! The WiiU did worse than the Xbox one and now Nintendo has one of the most successful consoles with the Switch.

I think Xbox needs to be more aggressive again. They’ve been playing the nice guy. As we know, nice guys finish last. They need to look at the 360 generation and see what worked. The price, the games, the momentum of what they built. This new Kumbaya Xbox is just getting pushed all over.

Re: Xbox Boss Insists Microsoft Will Deliver A Packed Schedule Of Releases

EvilSilentFrame

“Collections” has my attention. I’m wondering what they can be? Xbox just needs to start delivering. We were excited when they showed a bunch of games (CGI) trailers in 2020 to announce some of the games coming. I know we went through COVID and there were delays. We’ve been patient, but now we need to start swing Xbox show up. Not half baked games. Not a bunch of CGI. Games that are ready for release. I’m looking forward to see what they have for us in June’s showcase.

Re: Phil Spencer Says Xbox 'Needs To Improve' Its Development Process

EvilSilentFrame

I’m glad he finally is talking and taking some of the responsibility. Keeping quiet after a few hits to Xbox isn’t assuring to its gamers. A lot of confidence has been lost and it’s going to take some much better delivery from Xbox to restore some of that confidence. Of course I haven’t given up on the console, but I am wondering what’s going on over there. I think it’s time to start tightening some of the strings over there.

Re: Talking Point: Would You Leave Xbox Game Pass If Microsoft Removed Its Exclusives?

EvilSilentFrame

I don’t think I would unsubscribe from Gamepass if they removed day one first party games. The rumor of Microsoft being unhappy with Hi Fi Rush, was just that, a “rumor.” They came out and said they couldn’t be happier with the success of the game and the studio.

Microsoft stopped giving out numbers for Xbox’s and game sales awhile ago. That drives speculation on a lot of things from those outside of a company. Those who are in the public eye have said before that if you don’t give them a story, they’ll still write a story. It’s not always going to be facts. Hard to tell what Microsoft are happy with behind the scenes.

Maybe Microsoft have discussed taking away the day one first party games, but I think they know eventually their games are going to start flowing out of their studios. It’s going to boost Gamepass subscriptions and that’s been their goal. In the meantime, they’ve been putting a good amount of third party games on Gamepass and that’s been enough to keep me entertained.

Re: One Of Xbox's 'Forthcoming' Games Could Take An Entire Decade To Develop

EvilSilentFrame

10 years to develop? And it’s not guaranteed to hit. The game could flop and then all that time and money poured into it would be totally wasted.

I’m guessing it’s going to be something like Elder Scrolls. It’s an established series and I'm not sure they would allow a new IP to take that amount of time. I don’t think it will be Fable as Microsoft wanted to show some of that off but the team wanted to wait till it’s further along.
