@Utena-mobile and I agree with your statements. People might say “blah blah everybody knows,” but I find that the younger audience doesn’t know. My kids liked the RE 2 & 3 remake but won’t touch the older games. They don’t like the controls or the graphics. I think Capcom has been doing a great job with the remakes and if this is how the newer generation experiences them, then I’m all for it.
A CV remake would expand more on what happened with Claire after the events of 2. It’ll introduce Chris to the new players. To me, it makes so much more sense to remake CV, but Capcom might be looking at sales numbers to determine their next remake.
I personally don’t want a remake of RE5. At least not yet. I would like them to remake CV next. I felt CV should have been done before RE4 remake. It’s older and really could benefit more from the remake treatment. After that I wouldn’t mind Zero and the original getting a remake. Does RE5 make sense? Yes due to more revenue for Capcom, but I rather have the others I mentioned remade first.
The way they framed it, I understand their thought process of the AAA market being volatile at the moment. Seems like a lot of the bigger budget games are struggling, so returning revenue on a live service looks more enticing to them, but on paper would it make sense? Most don’t survive. Only a few do well. Most of us don’t want another live service game.
I’ve bought my fair share of remasters/remakes. Depends if I liked the original and if I felt it needed a remaster/remake. RE 2 & 3, Destroy All Humans 1 & 2, Project Zero/Fatal Frame 5 & 4, the latest was Tomb Raider Remastered 1 - 3. I love older games and I feel it’s worth it, I’ll get it. I know RE 4 remake was super popular. I did not buy that one as I didn’t want a remake for that game. So I buy a decent amount of them, but only if I feel it’s worthy of that treatment.
@elpardo1984 I only used the word slaves because of the response to me about that word. I totally know they aren’t. I was just confused on becoming independent when you’ve been acquired, because like you said, you generally don’t get to keep the name or go into a partnership with the company you just quit.
I mean I’m glad the people there seem to be happy to be independent again. If that’s what works for them, then that’s great. The process of getting there is just confusing to me is all. There’s a bunch of theories how they got out and got to keep the name. Im sure we’ll all find out soon enough.
@sixrings that’s not what I meant. I’m aware they aren’t “slaves.” Being acquired by another company, that company buys some or all the stocks and assets to that company. So did they have to buy all that back to obtain the rights to be independent?
I’ve read a few reports on this now and this might be a stupid question, but after getting acquired by Activision and then Microsoft, how do they go off and become independent? Do they have to buy their independence back?
I would love to see more on Indiana Jones. That’s my most anticipated Xbox game at the moment. I would also like to see something on Everwild. Rare announced it awhile back. It went into a reboot or two. Last I heard they were thinking of something similar to Viva Piñata so I’m curious what they are cooking up for that game.
It makes sense to ask your team to come and work in the office in preparation for the big release next year, but at the same time I could see why employees aren’t “thrilled” with the idea. They’ve been used to working from home. Sometimes that means child care, dog walkers, extra gas money for commuting… It will also mean after the release, it probably won’t go back to how it was before with the amount of days working from home. It could always be worse though. We’ve seems TONS of layoffs in the industry lately. They still have a job so that’s at least something.
Wow this just doesn’t stop. Very sorry for all those affected. I hope they all find jobs quickly and I hope the gaming market starts to find some balance. This is happening too often. Very sad.
@Grippie I totally get that, and they were wrong to do that. It’s very frustrating. I predominantly play on my Series X. Been a fan of Xbox since the beginning and it’s tough to constantly see all the negativity towards Xbox, but in my opinion, this isn’t the situation to console war over.
People can lose everything over this. I lost a job years ago during the housing market crash and the stock market crash. Jobs were laying people off constantly, but I was one of the lucky ones who found a job shortly afterwards. I know people who lost their homes. Friends that had kids that had nowhere to go. They struggled to feed their kids. They struggled to pay their bills.
Does it suck that PS fanboys flame Xbox anytime something negative happens at Xbox? Absolutely, and again this is only my opinion, but the real victims in this are those that lost their jobs. When looked at through that lens, it makes the whole “they did it to us” seem rather small.
I’m hoping that didn’t come across as attacking you. I would never do that and through text, it’s hard to tell the tone somebody is using. I don’t start fights or encourage them. I respect your opinion and welcome discussions on different points of views.
This is very sad news. My heart goes out to all those that were affected by this. This isn’t a Sony vs Microsoft thing that some are making this out to be. It’s sad when it happens on either side. It’s sad when it happens to other businesses in the industry. It’s people’s livelihood that it’s affecting.
@GuyinPA75 ah I see. Yes I’m not a fan of weapons breaking either. Especially when it’s weapons that don’t make much sense breaking. Breath of the Wild was a good game, but once I no longer have the stick as a weapon, my swords and axes shouldn’t be breaking.
I didn’t mind the weapons breaking as much in Dead Rising. I still am not a fan of breaking weapons but there’s so many in that game, I could quickly find a new one. Plus it forced me to find some new ones that were sometimes humorous.
I’ll give Dead Island 2 a try after I’m done with my Tomb Raider remasters. If the first Dead Island is still cheap, I’ll try it just to get an idea of what the first one was, but I’m really curious out this second one. Thank you for letting me know!
Does anybody know if you need to of played the first one before playing the second game? I think I saw the first one was on sale. Might pick that up before trying this one.
I don’t get much time to play games during the week as I work full time, so I’m still working on the Tomb Raider Remasters. I’m still on the first one but pretty far into it. Can’t remember how much more is left but I’m loving it.
@K1LLEGAL I totally agree with you. Xbox players didn’t get the chance to buy it physically, now that it’s coming to rival systems, it’s time to make a physical copy? I understand Xbox sells mostly digital, but to not offer a physical copy till it goes onto other systems just leaves a bad taste in the mouth.
I’m not a CoD player so it doesn’t effect me if it goes into gamepass this year or next year. I do find it funny that it was part of the negotiation Sony had with Activision that CoD couldn’t go into gamepass even though Activision had zero interest to put any of their games into gamepass.
@Banjo- I didn’t see that which is weird because I was getting messages anytime somebody posted on that thread. I’m going to have to go and check that out. If they have the ghosts from 1 and 3 in there, it makes me believe they are working on those remasters. If so, will we get them all at one time or would it be separate like they did IV and V? Either way, I just want to replay them again on current hardware. I really don’t want to have to dig out my original Xbox. Plus to finally have the third game on an Xbox would be amazing. They had to jump through hoops to get IV on there. I bet the original trilogy is coming.
@Banjo- I too am so delighted to have the classics on Xbox. I keep switching between the new graphics and the old graphics. I really like how they remastered these games. This is how a remaster should be done. So happy to have them.
I didn’t hate the reboot of the TR games, it just felt a little off. Even her movements were off. She was pretty clumsy in her jumps where in the originals, the controls were clumsy, but her animations made her more acrobatic. The clumsy young Lara didn’t make much sense. Fighting waves of army men didn’t make much sense. The games for what they were are good, but didn’t feel like TR. I mean, where are the Tombs? They could have called those games something else and not been in the TR world and I think I would have liked them better.
On a side note Banjo, tomorrow is Nintendo’s Partner Showcase. Maybe we will hear something new on a remaster or new Project Zero/Fatal Frame? Oh the possibilities! 😝
I can see a package deal for some people, but I personally wouldn’t want it. There’s so many games on gamepass as it is. My back catalog is full. If I was younger with no responsibilities, I might be able to get through these games faster so I’d consider Ubisoft+, but no I don’t have a need for that now.
I can picture them doing the next three like this. The team behind the 1 - 3 remasters did a great job. I’m still on the first game. Taking my time, I don’t want to rush it and I’m loving every second.
I played the Last Revelation on the Dreamcast. It was a huge leap in graphics at the time. I don’t know how well that one holds up but at the time I loved it. I would like to replay it again.
@Zochmenos I’m hopeful they will have something more unique this time around like you said. I believe they are a very talented team and if they can find a happy place in the middle of tomb raiding and exploring sprinkled in with some combat, I think they could end up with a really amazing game.
@Zochmenos I think they felt the games had to go in that direction. Lots of shooting games back then and I think they were trying to chase some of those trends. They were decent games but didn’t fit the character. I think now creators see players enjoy all types of different games so hopefully the new one is more exploring than fighting.
@ParsnipHero I’m super excited for the new Indy game. A gun fight for him made more sense than it did with Lara. I still don’t want TONS of fights with humans, but there typically are others he rivals against in the movies so I can see that happening in the game.
@ParsnipHero I can’t speak for Kidfunkadelic83. One could ask themselves why is nobody else raiding these tombs? I used to think that when I played the original but it also made it feel like a lost tomb nobody has been to in many many years. Being alone without much human interaction gave the game a creepy eerie feeling. I wouldn’t mind if I came across a group of explorers. That I could deal with. Wave after wave of army men? It just cheapened the experience for me.
@Kidfunkadelic83 yes I liked the alone feeling of the first game. I can appreciate what they tried to do with the reboot, but it just didn’t sit well with me. The first time she kills somebody, she’s devastated and rightfully so, but then it just went on and on with her taking out wave after wave of army guys. No offense to anybody who loved those games, but I wanted to explore some tombs on my own. I’m hoping for less human fights in the new game. More tomb raiding and more wildlife. That worked best for me.
Though I liked the newer trilogy of games, they didn’t feel like true Tomb Raider games. For my personal taste it was too much gun fighting with humans and not enough exploring of tombs and the occasional fight with a wild creature.
At the moment, I'm replaying the remasters of 1-3 and loving it. Yes, it’s clunky but I can look past that knowing how old they are. I can’t pick which is my favorite at the moment since I’m replaying the first three again for the first time in years. So much I don’t remember. Maybe I can give my favorite after.
I’ll be playing the original Tomb Raider. Loved it back in the day and having a blast at the moment revisiting the game. I’ll move on to the second when I beat the first.
I was thinking 2028, but I read a few reports a couple months back saying 2026. Of course these are just rumors or guesses. They mentioned 2026 because of Xbox not doing a mid gen refresh this time around. That they were skipping the refresh to start the next gen early. Its possible but I’m still leaning towards 2028.
Loving Tomb Raider 1-3 on my Xbox. Other older games I’d like to see them give the same treatment, JSRF, Resident Evil series, Silent Hill series, Fatal Frame/Project Zero 1-3, Shenmue. Yes I know some are playable on the current Xbox, but to be able to toggle with updated graphics and controls would be a blast. I’m sure there’s others I’d like to have as well but those were off the top of my head. I’ll be diving deeper into the Tomb Raider games this weekend.
@Grumblevolcano I’ve been thinking since all this started that they were waiting for the Nintendo Direct. The past two or three Directs, Nintendo has had a shadow launch of a game. I’m wondering if Xbox is shadow launching Hi-Fi Rush on the Switch. There might be some sort of NDA they have with Nintendo where they couldn’t confirm anything. I’m not an insider. I can be totally wrong. It’s just my guess for legal reasons Microsoft couldn’t talk last week.
@abe_hikura when I first heard the rumors a few weeks ago of SoT and Hi-Fi Rush going multi plat, I was thinking “why?” But the more I thought of it, the more sense it made. Something like Microsoft Flight Simulator also makes sense as those games are not going to push more consoles, they did what they could on Xbox, and now can have a bit more success on another platform.
As for ABK and Bethesda games, I do think some will remain exclusive to Xbox. I don’t think they would spend billions to acquire both companies and then just release all the games on competing consoles. I think when it comes to Xbox, so many people jump on the rumors to declare victory for their console of choice. I think a few games from them will go multi plat and the rest will stay exclusive.
@abe_hikura that’s a fair and valid point to fear putting too much exclusives on competing platforms. I personally don’t think it’s going to be as much as the rumors are saying. My guess is it’ll be a few older titles along with a couple newer AA games sprinkled in here and there. I believe the bigger games and flagship titles will remain Xbox exclusive. We’ll just have to see what they say next week. It’ll be here before we know it.
So many people demanding Xbox to address the rumors. I totally understand people want answers. We live in a society where news and rumors spread so fast, we demand to know now, but it can’t always be now. Sometimes we have to wait.
I had a feeling that something at Xbox leaked and everybody either didn’t have answers yet, or maybe they couldn’t answer due to an NDA or legal issues. Letting us know we would find out more in a week wasn’t doom and gloom. People on both sides are probably making it a bigger issue than what it is. Just stay calm, we’ll all find out soon enough.
Interesting to see the games wanted on PS5. I own all three systems so it doesn’t matter to me. I don’t know if PS fans will get all the games they wanted though. This is just my guess, but I think Xbox will port over older games or AA games. Some of the bigger staples for Xbox I’m not sure are heading to PlayStation but we shall see.
I want to start off by saying we don’t know if it’s a few games or a whole list of games that will be coming to PlayStation. I personally am guessing it’s just a few older games sprinkled in with a few newer AA games. I believe Xbox will still be around, but for those who are wishing for Xbox to fail and leave the console behind…. Then what? It’s not a win for the consumer in the long run.
Nintendo isn’t competing against Sony the same way Xbox is. (Yes I know Nintendo sells a lot more systems and games than Xbox, but as we saw in the ABK mess, neither Xbox or Sony view them as competition.) Once you lose your competition, you become a monopoly. Game prices will rise. The next PlayStation console will rise in price. Online service will rise. First party games will lower in quality. And why? Because there’s no competition to keep the balance. There’s no competition for consumers to choose between. You’re stuck having to choose the console with the monopoly. You the consumer don’t benefit from that. I’m not in the console war as it’s pointless. I own all three systems and I enjoy them all and hope for all three to have a healthy market share, but those hoping for the failure of Xbox so Sony “wins” should really be careful what they are wishing for because it could just happen and you won’t like the end result.
@Ralizah you can disagree and that’s fine, but again we do not know why they are not saying something. It could be legal reasons and then they cannot say anything. It could be structure from the inside still figuring out the direction it’s going. It could be one or more parties still need to agree on certain terms… There’s many reasons why they maybe can’t say anything yet. We all want answers, but saying something too soon if things behind the scenes are not all figured out yet would be “handling it poorly.” Then they would have to go back on their word of what was said.
@Ralizah it really isn’t being handled that poorly. We don’t know yet why they’re not saying much. There could be legal reasons why nothing is being said. They told us more answers will come next week. Unfortunately we are in a day and age where we expect answers right away, in this case, we all have to wait till then.
I’d rather he addressed it sooner. There’s too many arguments and assumptions online. I’m wondering if he can’t say anything yet as it’s rumored there will be a Nintendo direct this week. If so, maybe the Hi-Fi Rush thing still has to be a “secret” that nobody sees coming.
These rumors just keep stacking up. At the end of the day, they are just rumors till Xbox addresses them. Hopefully they speak to it soon. Xbox’s themselves might not have sold well, but I don’t think they are going third party like a lot of people are thinking. Games from Bethesda were “case by case.” There was always a possibility of those games going multi platform.
@Utena-mobile yes, her birthday is February 14th 1968. I love that the creators gave her a deep background story. She feels more like a real character. It’s so strange I’m looking forward for these older games than anything new coming. There’s just something about them. Lara’s a great character and I’m so excited to go on these early journeys with her again.
@Utena-mobile nothing wrong with spending Valentine’s Day with Lara Croft. February 14th also happens to be her birthday. So you’ll be making sure she’s not alone on her birthday. 🥳
Those are some impressive numbers. Seems like there’s always so much negativity aimed at them, nice to see something positive. Maybe it’ll calm the claim of “Xbox going third party down” at least for a little while.

Re: Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered Update Now Live, Here Are The Full Patch Notes
The game isn’t perfect, far from it, but I’m having such a great time going through it. Glad to see they are working to improve it.

15 years already? Wow time flys…
I personally don’t want a remake of RE5. At least not yet. I would like them to remake CV next. I felt CV should have been done before RE4 remake. That worked best for me.
Re: Pick One: Which Is Your Favourite Tomb Raider Game On Xbox?
Though I liked the newer trilogy of games, they didn’t feel like true Tomb Raider games. For my personal taste it was too much gun fighting with humans and not enough exploring of tombs and the occasional fight with a wild creature.
At the moment, I'm replaying the remasters of 1-3 and loving it. Yes, it’s clunky but I can look past that knowing how old they are. I can’t pick which is my favorite at the moment since I’m replaying the first three again for the first time in years. So much I don’t remember. Maybe I can give my favorite after.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (February 17-18)
I’ll be playing the original Tomb Raider. Loved it back in the day and having a blast at the moment revisiting the game. I’ll move on to the second when I beat the first.
Re: Poll: When Do You Think Xbox Will Release Its Next-Generation Console?
I was thinking 2028, but I read a few reports a couple months back saying 2026. Of course these are just rumors or guesses. They mentioned 2026 because of Xbox not doing a mid gen refresh this time around. That they were skipping the refresh to start the next gen early. Its possible but I’m still leaning towards 2028.
Re: Talking Point: Are There Any OG Xbox Remasters You're Dying To See On Series X|S?
Loving Tomb Raider 1-3 on my Xbox. Other older games I’d like to see them give the same treatment, JSRF, Resident Evil series, Silent Hill series, Fatal Frame/Project Zero 1-3, Shenmue. Yes I know some are playable on the current Xbox, but to be able to toggle with updated graphics and controls would be a blast. I’m sure there’s others I’d like to have as well but those were off the top of my head. I’ll be diving deeper into the Tomb Raider games this weekend.
Re: Review: Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered - Updated '90s Classics Finally Arrive On Xbox
7/10 is a good score. I can’t wait to jump back into these games tomorrow. One of my most anticipated games of the year.
Re: Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered: Release Date, Release Times & Preload Details On Xbox
I’m so excited for this one! Already preordered and downloaded.
Re: Microsoft Announces Official Date & Time For 'Updates On The Xbox Business'
@Grumblevolcano I’ve been thinking since all this started that they were waiting for the Nintendo Direct. The past two or three Directs, Nintendo has had a shadow launch of a game. I’m wondering if Xbox is shadow launching Hi-Fi Rush on the Switch. There might be some sort of NDA they have with Nintendo where they couldn’t confirm anything. I’m not an insider. I can be totally wrong. It’s just my guess for legal reasons Microsoft couldn’t talk last week.
Re: Xbox Reportedly Has 'No Plans' To Stop Making Consoles
Re: Xbox Reportedly Has 'No Plans' To Stop Making Consoles
@abe_hikura that’s a fair and valid point to fear putting too much exclusives on competing platforms. I personally don’t think it’s going to be as much as the rumors are saying. My guess is it’ll be a few older titles along with a couple newer AA games sprinkled in here and there. I believe the bigger games and flagship titles will remain Xbox exclusive. We’ll just have to see what they say next week. It’ll be here before we know it.
Re: Xbox Supposedly 'Very Surprised' At The Extent Of The Latest Rumours
So many people demanding Xbox to address the rumors. I totally understand people want answers. We live in a society where news and rumors spread so fast, we demand to know now, but it can’t always be now. Sometimes we have to wait.
I had a feeling that something at Xbox leaked and everybody either didn’t have answers yet, or maybe they couldn’t answer due to an NDA or legal issues. Letting us know we would find out more in a week wasn’t doom and gloom. People on both sides are probably making it a bigger issue than what it is. Just stay calm, we’ll all find out soon enough.
Re: PS5 Survey Lists Top 10 'Most Wanted' Xbox Franchises On PlayStation
Interesting to see the games wanted on PS5. I own all three systems so it doesn’t matter to me. I don’t know if PS fans will get all the games they wanted though. This is just my guess, but I think Xbox will port over older games or AA games. Some of the bigger staples for Xbox I’m not sure are heading to PlayStation but we shall see.
Re: Phil Spencer Addresses Xbox Speculation Ahead Of 'Business Update Event'
Re: Xbox Indie Developer Shares His Concerns Following This Week's Rumours
@Ralizah you can disagree and that’s fine, but again we do not know why they are not saying something. It could be legal reasons and then they cannot say anything. It could be structure from the inside still figuring out the direction it’s going. It could be one or more parties still need to agree on certain terms… There’s many reasons why they maybe can’t say anything yet. We all want answers, but saying something too soon if things behind the scenes are not all figured out yet would be “handling it poorly.” Then they would have to go back on their word of what was said.
Re: Xbox Indie Developer Shares His Concerns Following This Week's Rumours
@Ralizah it really isn’t being handled that poorly. We don’t know yet why they’re not saying much. There could be legal reasons why nothing is being said. They told us more answers will come next week. Unfortunately we are in a day and age where we expect answers right away, in this case, we all have to wait till then.
Re: Phil Spencer Addresses Xbox Speculation Ahead Of 'Business Update Event'
I’d rather he addressed it sooner. There’s too many arguments and assumptions online. I’m wondering if he can’t say anything yet as it’s rumored there will be a Nintendo direct this week. If so, maybe the Hi-Fi Rush thing still has to be a “secret” that nobody sees coming.
Re: Starfield, Indiana Jones And Many Other 'Xbox Exclusives' Could Be Heading To PS5
Re: Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered Is Out This Month, And We're Excited For A Nostalgia Trip On Xbox
Re: Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered Is Out This Month, And We're Excited For A Nostalgia Trip On Xbox
@Utena-mobile nothing wrong with spending Valentine’s Day with Lara Croft. February 14th also happens to be her birthday. So you’ll be making sure she’s not alone on her birthday. 🥳
Re: Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered Is Out This Month, And We're Excited For A Nostalgia Trip On Xbox
This is one of my most anticipated games of the year. I’m so looking forward to this, I can’t wait!
Re: Pick One: Which Is Your Favourite Obsidian Game On Xbox?
I haven’t played many of there games. I did play Grounded and ended up really liking it. Fun concept, I should check out some of their other games.
Re: Resident Evil 4 Gold Edition Announced, Launches Next Week On Xbox
I have still yet to play this remake. Might give the Gold Edition a try depending on the price.
Re: Xbox's Gaming Revenue Receives Huge 49% Boost YoY From Activision Blizzard Acquisition
Those are some impressive numbers. Seems like there’s always so much negativity aimed at them, nice to see something positive. Maybe it’ll calm the claim of “Xbox going third party down” at least for a little while.
Re: Random: Yes, You Can Still Freeze The Butler In Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered
LOL that is great! I remember locking him in there, but I don’t remember him freezing. I’m so looking forward to replaying these!
