Re: Saints Row's Future Is Under Evaluation Following 2022 Reboot

EVIL-C

Going for the whole Fortnite vibe/aesthetic really hurt it. The game has a massive identity crisis going on, not knowing what it wants to be or who its' target audience is. They saw the backlash during the reveal, and they basically said "lawl f you guys, we're not backing down". Kinda like when EA told you "If you don't like BF5, don't buy it". And many listened.

Im only gonna get it when it's like $10-20 at most.

And as an aside, If you're really feeling jaded like me, check out some indies or some smaller budget/less prominent games, like Stray, Axiom Verge, A Plague Tale, etc.. I've been having way more fun recently with this type of stuff.

Re: Reaction: GoldenEye Is Finally Coming To Xbox, But It's A Rare Whiffed Shot For 007

EVIL-C

Where did it say the Switch version lacked local multiplayer? I haven't read that anywhere.

I'm very disappointed that it's relegated to essentially a rental-only option (on NSO) , you cant buy it. It's the same issue I have with stuff on GP; at least it's assumed one can buy the Xbox port, or at least buy it via Rare Replay. They really have left a lot of details unclear here for both ports. 🤔

@BBB if you didn't play it back in the day then of course you wouldn't have the same experience and memories as someone like me who did. Like, duh... 🤷‍♂️ However, nothing would stop you from trying the re-release, if it ever does come out. Or you can do what I did and download the ROM of the leaked XBLA version. I did in early 2021 and had an absolutely fantastic time with it yet again.

@BBB @RicebinBernacky

GoldenEye is a masterclass in how to adapt a film to a game faithfully, while taking just enough liberties so as to flesh out the adventure a bit more.
It's also excels in its mission design, adding additional objectives to higher difficulty levels encouraging multiple playthroughs, plus allowing for most levels to be approached in multiple ways. Not to mention the challenge of unlocking all the level cheats as a bonus. It's a masterpiece, and blows away any crappy COD or most other modern FPS titles as a whole package. Look at Activision's 007 Legends or Quantum of Solace by comparison. They're terrible, and the GoldenEye reimagining is just "Call of Bond". 😫

Re: Deals: Xbox 'Back Compat Sale' Now Live, 100+ Games Included

EVIL-C

@Banjo- Yeah from what I've seen, the game benefits from the series X performance in general. I'm generally not super hardcore nit-picky about missing visual effects.
Me too! Shattered Memories was my first SH game, and I freaking loved it.

@skaarj217 I grabbed SH: Homecoming while it's on sale! 😅

Re: YouTuber Angry Joe Threatens To Take CBS To Court Over Halo Dispute

EVIL-C

@BBB It doesn't. The whole debate comes from the idea that in principle, free speech should apply universally (aside from direct threats of violence, doxing, yelling "fire!" in a crowded theatre for no reason, etc...)
From the American context, their 1st amendment does NOT apply to any private platform, it only applies to the government being unable to silence you.
When you sign those terms of service agreements, one is agreeing to abide by the rules of the platform. Violate the platforms rules, you suffer the punishment for it.

Now we can have a debate if those protections should be expanded and apply to private platforms or not. It's easy to see the arguments in both directions.

What drives me nuts is that some individuals, especially those who lean right on the political spectrum, don't fundamentally understand the difference and distinction, and thus they call it "ERR MAH GURD BIG TECH CENSORSHIPZ". They especially cry and scream that they are being targeted, when in actuality right-wing voices and content dominates Facebook and Twitter in terms of popularity and engagement, as proven by data that tracks this information, easily found on Google.

This gets into an even bigger issue how powerful international corporations have far too much control over our lives, and they're to be held accountable, not praised and worshipped like heroes, which sadly far too many do. Personally for the more libertarian left-types like myself, these platforms are too restrictive and we should have such rights and civil liberties extended to them.

Personally I agree 100% with Joe, and I'm not even a fan of his. YouTube's crackdowns on fair use are draconian and need to stop. But he's delusional if he thinks he can take on CBS and/or Google in court and win.

Anyway, at face value, such blanket statements like "big tech is censoring free speech, full stop!" is both incorrect and highly misleading without the added nuances. Hope that helps.

Re: Here's How PlayStation's New Services Compare To Xbox Game Pass

EVIL-C

Sony had the blueprint to match or surpass GPU, and they still failed to do that. 🤦‍♂️
I'm glad they're rolling the services into one, but they should've made the premium features part of the extra tier to really one-up GPU. Oh and not including the 1st party releases is baffeling.

And PS3 is STILL STREAMING-ONLY! 😵

Ugh, Sony... 🤦‍♂️
