Re: Xbox Fans Urged To Remain Calm As Emotions Run Wild On Social Media

EVIL-C

@Carck Nintendo never once gave even the slightest incling of an impression that they would drop out of hardware. I was there during both the GameCube and Wii U days; that was all endless speculation from writers on gaming websites, and gamers on forums speculating, all of which was completely baseless. They looked like fools then, and 10x moreso foolish now.

Re: Spec Ops: The Line Has Been Removed From Xbox's Storefront

EVIL-C

@InterceptorAlpha It's a shame that "Spec Ops: The Line" is one of the most generic titles ever for a game. Plus, the way it was advertised, it was depicted like your standard, cookie cutter, military TPS. Yawn... ๐Ÿฅฑ Then one gets into it, and aside from it's solid gameplay, it's story is unbelievably awesome and indeed, subversive. The twist is completely unexpected and superbly well executed. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜„

Truly a shame to yet another great (and very unique) game digitally delisted, lost to the mists of time... ๐Ÿ˜ญ And without any warning either. Shameful!

@ArmoredMore I'm fully agnostic on Bethesda and the hype around SF. I thought the showcase had some interesting stuff, but didn't make me want to buy it day 1. Of my two friends who were very hyped for SF and like Bethesda titles, one enjoys it, the other requested a refund a few days after playing it. So, there's that.

Re: Xbox Fan Sparks Huge Debate After Receiving First 'Strike' For Bad Language

@somnambulance Fair enough, lol. ๐Ÿ™‚๐Ÿ‘ The only forms I too even semi-regularly post on is within this family of sites.

@Lightweight Ouch, it sounds like such a broken system. I remember a few years ago, my PSN account was banned for 3 days. I couldn't for the life of me figure out why. I hadn't played online recently, or communicated with any one random around the time. I've had the same benign, official Sony avatar for years. I've never played on a hacked console. It's bizarre. I'm thinking a lot of these triggers are automatic, like when one submits an essay and the school's system auto-checks it for plagerism, sources sometimes are flagged despite it being cited correctly.

Re: Red Dead Redemption Comparison Shows How Well Xbox Version Holds Up Against PS4

@XboxTheBestBox Slight visual upgrades are nice, sure, as are frame rate boosts, but no, the concept of BWC existed long before HDR was a thing.

And again, quick resume reduces loading times....and then... ? It has nothing to do with the concept of BWC.

I gave a substantive example of some Xbox games being lost in 2024 with the 360 store closure, and you chose to highlight HDR and Load times...

@Kevw2006 Made a valid, concurring point. I think my work here too is done. As I suggested, don't assume.

@XboxTheBestBox

Quick resume and Auto-HDR has nothing to do with BWC.

Unless you missed it, there won't be any more updates this generation. Will that always be the case? Hopefully not (my personal guess is no), and hopefully BWC will improve with Xbox 5th gen, but don't just blindly assume it's set in stone.
We're also about to lose a number of XB360 games next year when the 360 store shuts down. That's not a win for game preservation. If it wasn't released on disc, and it doesn't work on the modern Xbox store, then bye-bye to those games. ๐Ÿ‘‹
These companies will do what's best for themselves, not us, at the end of the day.
